  • Thats not to say it can't be done though. They can utilize the the same codes they already have, the whole friendly/hostile faction thing going on. Even throughout quests it can toggle NPC's from friendly, hostile, then back to friendly. I figure you can use the same functionality somehow to make this PvP/PvE community…

  • Seperate server, or a toggle switch for PvP/PvE mode would make this a dream come true and would attract all players. More players potentially means more money for NW. So seperate server PvP or Toggable PvP seems to be like the only way to make this open world PvP concept close to feasible.

  • Yes, exaclty, its like really role playing and emotions do get involved, people get mad at eachother and create frienemies. Factions will stick out more, the stronger ones will own the weaker ones, the weaker ones will merge with the stronger ones, so much can happen if there was a way to keep the PvE players happy and out…

  • Cool it, he's expressing his concerns of how PvP can be annoying to those who dont want to participate, and this I think is the key to making it work. Nobody wants to get jumped or camped and all that, its annoying. If there was a way to cater to both sides then I think it can be done right. Toggle switch I think would be…

  • I dont see how these PvE'ers could disagree with toggable PvP so that they can stay out of it while the PvP'ers have their fun. In essence, thats voluntary and still open world PvP.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Yet it has PvP for some reason then? You're not making sense here.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Hell yes, you know where im coming from.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Sooo many debby downers here... but I think it can be done without interfering with these thick headed PvE'ers who dont know how to contribute to a discussion besides saying "No".
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • That'd be pretty cool, this way Lichlament can play by himself in the PvE server while everyone else plays on the Pvp one.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • You're making no contributions to this discussion.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • ahhh yes, that would be where you got Drzzt from. BG and NWN are really similar.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Actualy, PVP was a MAJOR concern of theirs, hence why they seperated it like that. They were so concerned that PvP might ruin the gameplay for the PvE'ers. But this is why I started the thread, to hear the concerns of both parties. I can't imagine it being that hard to create a work around to make every area PvP-able to…

  • THere better be more than one whole dungeon... didnt you spent enough time grinding away in dungeons jsut so you could spend your endgame, well what do you know, IN A DUNGEON!?
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Would you be okay if every area was PvP but you had the option to not participate and carry on about your PvE gamestyle? I cant see you disagreeing with this, nor can I see the other PvE'ers disagreeing with this method.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Because they arent hints lol.. SOunds to me more like concerns, peole are concerned it'll get in the way of their PvE gamestyle... and if you could ONLY READ WHATS BEING SAID, you'll see nobody is trying to take that away from you, so its okay, dont be scared of the PvP.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Yeah, there can be work arounds to avoid the QQ. Its been done before, it can be done again and, but better.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Both parties can get their cookies and both can be left alone if you read what I just said. TOo much doubt, not enough creative thought i see... *EDIT* And to prevent exploits and camping, have it set so that you can only set ready/not ready for PVP in a safe zone like a campfire or before leaving protectors enclave.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • If you're afraid of PvP then assuming the PvP / PvE instances/shards idea gets accepted do yourself a favor and stick to PvE. thats why they have this thing called SAFE ZONES. If you get killed in PvE you respawn at a fire no? Just do the same if you get killed in PvP. Most campfires are right next to the exit almost…

  • so instead of having 20+ (idk exactly how many) different instances for each adventuring zone like they have now.. why not have 10 PvE, 10 PvP instances? You want to go do your quests without the fun and suspense of PvP, joint he PvP instance. This way you can keep the shards the same as they and just change the adventure…

  • You can set loot options ya know. And yes, if they can add another server for the hXc PvP'ers this game would stir soooo much sht up And there NEEDS to be a duel feature for fun and for the RP'ers, how the hell are you supposed to RP a fight if you can't actualy fight?
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • NWN1 and NWN2 both had PVP as part of the actual game. It was up tot he dungeon master to decide which areas.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • I know right, so weird! Almost as weird as the mundane killing of the same brainless NPC's by the thousands. D&D was about RP and had a lot more to it than just PvE. Theres barely anything D&D about this game except for the lore.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Yeah, 1 on 1 duels are a MUST. That would settle the bullsh OP arguements going on. In fact, I think this is the only MMO I played that doesnt have a duel feature lol.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • right, so explain why nwn1 and nwn2 both had PvP lol
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • The first OWPvP game I played was PW...and I got addicted, it encouraged ppl to party as well. Can't even tell you how many people play this MMO just to solo... wahts the point of playing online if you're going to solo? lol
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • Aye, there needs to be a 1 on 1 duel system for sure. ANd you can't say it would encourage PKers from high levels to kill low levels because there arent even regulations being discussed yet... so dont jump the gun. I noticed a lot of level 60's are pretty bored and only PvP a lot... why not make the endgame reward being…

  • "Guild Based pvp, Guilds can openly declare war against one another. Both sides must accept so that its mutual. once in a war regardless of lvls pvp is activated VS anyone in those guilds in any zone they happen to be in. Lasts until 1 side or both surrenders or decides they no longer wish war. simple. " Even that would be…

  • lol... you are thinking too hard into it. Maybe the world isnt "seamless" but its very open. If I could have it my way, I'd have every area except protectors enclave be PvP as long as you're not next to a campfire (safezone) like in PW.
in Open world pvp Comment by c3z May 2013
  • SIlly, maybe, but I know for a fact that a MAJORITY of the community would support this as from what I saw when I asked around in zone chat today. And if even half of the PW community plays this, then I'm sure they support it to. How are those "hardcore" D&D vets going to RP if they can't even duel or PvP? on that note,…

  • IF there were a few areas that you can just go to and NOT queue up that are always PvP that'd be great as well. And I agree, I wouldn't want people to be like that hence why it'd be cool to figure out a work around, wether its a few PvP areas that arent arenas and that you can just travel to using the map instead of…
