I feel the same way completly. If the game is fun and devs are doing a good job releasing content in olderly fashion, I will open my wallet and support the game as it deserves. If I feel the slightest that Im getting nickle and dimed, then I wont buy anything and probably stop playing the game alltogether.
What if I managed to get someone in the US to buy it for me. Would I be able to play on european servers? How has Cryptic managed their previous games server wise? Is it region locked?
@firesnakearies To keep it very short. Baldur's Gate. No other game since has immersed me as much, despite the fact it's been years since it got released.
@ryger5 Im going to bed now but I wont respond to your entire post because that would take me forever on my phone. I do feel that I want to respond to you on one point, because I really want to make it clear the purpose of this thread. This is NOT a rant. Im trying to form a discussion about the impression new players…
@vernednd Going f2p doesnt allways save a game. Swtor is suffering horribly post f2p launch because of how poorly they have handled the f2p model. Then again everyone should do the exact opposite on how to make an mmo like Bioware did. They probably made every misstake in the book.
@Itsneo I agree that wording of the title could have been better. However your saying that you should do some research about Cryptic then say give the game a chance because its a fresh start is completly contradictory. So yeah I don't know how to respons to this. About Cryptic is aware not to drop the ball, well every mmo…
I have bought several CE:s previously. I have np dishing out money to support developers. However I will only support the devs if I trust them. Cryptic really has to prove themselves to earn my trust, considering their previous history. I don't blindly trust people because they made a promise. If another company I trust…
@drwarpeffect It's like you probed my mind and explained it better than I ever could. Props for writing it so eloquently. What you pointed out here is a major concern for anyone who is willing to try out the game. The majority might look at Cryptics track record and wouldnt touch the game with a three foot pole, others…
Let me make this abundantly clear. Im not talking about my opinon but how Cryptics bad reputation resonates through the MMO community wich in turn might hurt the population of NO.
I never said that trying to make money out of a product is "evil". But if a company has a reputaion of bleeding players for money they are considered money grabbers and would put players off. Im glad that you enjoyed their games. Lets hope they learn from their misstakes and keep updates at a nice going pace. And would you…
I do agree that all game developers companies do suffer from this. However what I've seen and experienced is that the criticism towards cryptic are more speccific compared to the usual flaming of other companies, as I've stated previously. My intent is to highlight the speccific negative quotes that I've seen that people…
First of all Im not "listening to players" otherwise I wouldnt even be on this forum. Secondly even if the game is f2p it still could discourage players to even bother download the game not to even mention discouraging players from even buying the foundary packs wich in turn hurts the revenue of the game.
Depends completly of the implementaion of PvP. For example they could sepereate PvP gear with PvP only stats (WoW) or the PvP gear cant be used in a PvE envionrment (GW2). Since this game isnt announced as a "PvP game" then true PvPers wont flock to this game like e.g. LoL. Meaning the revenue will come very little from…
I just listened to the podcast wich was a great show and I really enjoyed it alot. I especially love the quality of the questions. I was really suprised and happy how good the questions were. However I have a couple of issues with the show. I will try and give some constructive advice and in no way meant to be destructive…
Imo opinion NW should NOT have PvP! (1) A couple of years ago every mmo that launched tried to add every aspect of the mmo genre to their game leading to failing in some aspect of the game or just falling short with unimpressive mechanics due to heavy balancing issues or bad implementaion (Ilum in swtor anyone?) (2) In…
I would like to be able to make non-combat sneak missions. By that I mean to be able to manipulate how the npc's detects you by lowering their aggro range. Also I would like to see some implementation of "staying in the shadows mechanic". By this I mean that Ideally there would be a metere that shows how well hidden you…
I would really like to know if the game will be launched in Europe at the same time it's launched in the US? Also if Europe will have their own server/shard to prevent high latency?
