For those who are crashing, can you try running the game in Windowed Maximized (if you aren't already)? I was already running in that mode, and I was not locking. My husband changed to it, and he isn't locking any more either.

For those that are crashing, are you launching via ARC? My husband is crashing and I am not, but I installed the game before ARC, and he installed it after. Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but maybe?
