So, I just had to get this out, because it really pisses me off. I don't care if you're main focus is PVE and you want to enjoy the NCL but:
1. If you don't have PVP gear, get some blues on the AH, it's really cheap. If you can't bother to do that, don't queue at all as you are ****ing over your team mates.
2. If you don't know how some classes work on PVP, don't accuse them of cheating. If you are wondering why a rogue on stealth can move so fast, it's because there have feats and such that allow them to move fast. Some dumbass tank accused me of cheating when all I did was use my mount, then switch over to stealth and move to their node. Then the dumbass on next round was on my team and saw what I was doing and says, it happens, after making all his previous team mates report me for cheating. The nerve.

These poorly geared pve people can't be on the other team too. I am sure you don't mind to see people in the opposing team, right?
But, if you PUG, prepare to see the green geared people on YOURS team instead of the other. Despite of how the fanboys said they don't see many premades, you should believe your own eyes. Many of them may not come from the same guild but the Spanish, French, or guild names with BR there pretty much blow their covers.
A lot of them even communicate in the same foreign languages during matches. Bad tries, they are not PUG. THey are buddies or guildmates.
So your complaint should be directed to Cryptic for the poor matching, not to the undergeared players.

First of all, I never complained about being badly geared. I could care less if you are wearing greens or blues provided that you have tenacity. Yes, I don't care if you're that badly geared, we all start somewhere. However, to come in in full alliance using full T1/T2 pve gear, and then blabber on the channel that you are just there to get equipment and can't help your team because you feel you are wearing a paper napkin, then yes, I have a big issue with it. The blue gear is cheap as **** on the AH and it will help you more than that alliance you got on. Please don't get it twisted on what I am trying to say.

I don't think you got what I meant. It is not the fault of the PVE players to come to PVP with PVE gear. First, the game allows them. They don't do anything wrong. Second, if the matching is good, you get equal chance of having PVE players with PVE gear on both your or the opponent's team.

A-relax dude it's just a game , u need a pill ?
B- those ppl need to start from somewhere .. Why the hell they should buy this gear on AH when they will need every AD they can get later, I also at my alts when I start PvP go with pve gear until I get the t1 PvP , and I can handle ok in PvP even in pve gear, which lead me to C:
C- they are beginners in PvP so even at good gear they will still be wipe out against good players , it is learning curve
U r just among those elitist players who think PvP is exclusive , hell no , it's good that more people starting to take interest in PvP
only will lead to good things and more competition , but u probably want to stay with only 1000 ppl that will PvP
and then u will probably post thread of cry when u loose to those bis premades , so relax
It's good thing
It's just good advise to tell people to get some tenacity gear, it makes a big difference and the blues cheap. You will earn the glory you need to get better gear a lot faster if you spend a little AD in the beginning.
I remember in a couple of occasions some developers had some fun in PvP matches both instanced and Open World in IWD. They sucked. They did not come in the with right gear/set up. They all came in with PvE leveling skills. How come people said it was fun and they made fun of the developers instead of lecturing them and complaining about their PvP actions in PvE setup?
It is simple. First, this is a game. Second, they did not come in only having winning in mind. Third, why do they have to learn PvP seriously just to PvP once in a while?

I had a Cw, who was clearly better geared than me, say that "this is BS." after I killed them.
They started by attempting to snipe us from one of the pillars. So I ran around and confronted him. He threw everything but the kitchen sink at me before he died. At least he could not say that I was stealthed and stunned him to death before I threw CoS at him. I looked him in the eye when he died.

Which CW would you rather have on your team?
In PvP... ummmm Tenacity RULES ALL in PvP. You need to leave your PvE gear at your mom's and suit up with the PvP... every day.
My power, ArPen are less in PvP, my Crit is much higher... as is my health. I have 68k health in PvE and 74k in PvP. I have mixed purples for PvE and One Elemental Burning piece and all Burning.
My tenacity is over 2k. Tenacity rewards a player with survivability beyond their HP.
Why?
Because without tenacity a GF with 120k Health and a 7k+ Def will get wrecked in seconds... by a TR with 70k health, 9k power and 2000+ tenacity.
It is like trying to explain why a pitbull is better for protecting someone... they don't give up, they don't let go... even if they are almost dead. Why is that... because the motivation for a pitbull is different than that of any other dog. A pit is motivated by loyalty and unconditional love.
A gladiator desires to survive and trains to much harder than a soldier would. PvE focused players are like highly trained soldiers. PvP players are like highly trained gladiators... or commandos. BIG DIFFERENCE.

If his PvE armour is BiS though, an investment in some PvP rings might make him more viable in PvP.

Not enough to help. That would be like 250 tenacity. It would be a start...
BiS with tenacity gear... are unstoppable. Put a BiS in PvE vs a BiS in PvP. The fight would last less than 5 seconds... no matter what class or build. Guess who would win?
More HP does not matter.
More Power does not matter
Skill in this case... has little bearing.

Think of it this way... Tenacity is like a Berserker Rage. People with a built in rage... will beat someone without the rage.

Yeah, but in blue PvP gear, he'll still be steamrolled by a BiS PvP player. So it's not really a change.
It could however make him competitive against mid-geared PvP players (Burning with rank 8s for example).
Many martial artists might disagree with you. Especially any practitioner of Aikido.
That wont help their character in game.
I know the concept you are talking about, as I am very well versed in Eastern philosophy, bushido and Buddhism, but that wont work in-game. I was talking about in-game based situations.

That is exactly the point. Some survivability is better than ZERO. I destroyed a BiS CW yesterday... to their shock and dismay... because he is essentially wrapped in paper. PvP = Tenacity > PvE in PvP.
I don't think it was really that fun for the developers, you might notice they haven't come back to try it again.
No... and that's the point. They did not have the intention to PvP in the game they developed so they did not bother to try very hard to learn how to PvP. Same story with the PvE players. They treat this NCL thing as another event like CTA, not a special tournament. I doubt if anybody really care how to gear up and what skills to use in other events like CTA.
Anyway, just don't get serious with this kind of PvP "events". Just come, play and have some "fun" (if you like it) and some rewards. Even if you lose, you still get something better than a White Pearl.
B- those ppl need to start from somewhere .. Why the hell they should buy this gear on AH when they will need every AD they can get later, I also at my alts when I start PvP go with pve gear until I get the t1 PvP , and I can handle ok in PvP even in pve gear
U r just among those elitist players who think PvP is exclusive
OK first things first, if you can't even come down because you get hit like a tissue paper, then you are completely a waste of slot. I had a few instance where they just ran around and avoided conflict. This is where my biggest problem lies. Now for those who think buying less than 4K AD on AH to get tenacity is a waste of AD because you need all you can to get your toon going, you are doing yourself a dis-service. First off, if you don't win and don't score enough, you don't get glory. No glory = no armor. The question is not if you can handle PVP with PVE gear but giving your team a good chance. What is 4K AD anyway? Is it going to break your bank? Please, don't make it sound like you are buying a ton of stuff. To me that is just ignorance.
Now for the elitist part. You think I said it's exclusive? Please don't put words in my mouth. It doesn't take a rocket scientist that if you PVP, you better have pvp gear, greens/blues, whatever. This game has been out how long and you are going to tell me they never heard of tenacity? Come on. Let's be realist. So if you decide to queue without pvp gear, you are not only hurting yourself but your team mates as well and that is my point. Some just don't seem to care and that is where my problem lies.
If you feel I am elitist, it makes me wonder how skewed your judgement is really.

Some people still don't realize these people don't come to PvP with PvP in mind. They come for the once-off "event". Win or lose, they don't care much. They lose, they get 1/2 the reward but even if they lose enough times they are still going to get the glory for the PvP gear if they care to wear, or the Pirate fashion to sell if all they care is to make more AD.
Do they know about tenacity? Maybe, maybe not, but that's don't change the reason they come for this PvP "event".
I even quoted the Cryptic developers in PvP as an example. Did they know about tenacity and PvP skills? I bet they did, at least to a certain extent. Did they know PvP and use the right skills? Absolutely not. Why? Quite simple... because they don't really care about winning.

Did you even read the part about NOT GETTING ANYTHING if you don't score enough? Because that is what's happening. Yes I get that, they come to this one off event for a "quick win" but you get nothing for doing nothing. That is the point, and again, the post was mean't to let these guys who do this, to spend a tiny amount of AD. It's just courtesy to those who want their team to be competitive. Yes, perhaps I was frustrated when I typed the OP, however, it doesn't negate the meaning. Done with this thread.

A- Well I'm Sorry to break it to u ...Ur original post is elitist
Period
And there is no room for elitists.. It's just sad u take this game way too seriously to start firing shots on others who just play for fun
This is elitist think - "oh , they have no good gear , it will ruin my day , I will post a thread of toxic to get me in balance "
Plz .. Get perspective . So u loose .. Big deal .. But I forgot u probably so scared about your ranking position .. Like its important.. So go premade already and u done with this "nubs" right ? Right ?
B - have u read my comment? I'm in alts in pve gear until I can get t1 PvP gear ( week or so in average ) and in that week I can handle myself ok .. Not best ofc .. But ok.. The team not loosing because of me unless this is against bis premade .. If we loose its everyone fault .. We just weren't good enough .. That's it .. So I get the glory .. And I promise u most starter players in pve gear get the glory in the same rate they would get even with this AH gear .. when they will be more exp they will increase that rate .. But for starters .. It doesn't matter much
So that is also not valid point u make ..
U just hate to admit that u loose as a team ..cause it will mean u blame u too.. sad sad indeed

The chance is they will score some points to quality for the rewards in some matches, no matter how bad they are. In regular Dominion matches, premades are a lot more common. There are still plenty of premades or partial premades queuing for NCL but since a lot of otherwise non-pvp players also queue for this "event" like it is a different CTA, I got points for the rewards almost all the time.
Also, I usually let the other team capture a couple of nodes if they are totally crushed so they will get the points for the reward. I think if you are not scoring points for the reward due to members quitting or not trying, you may kindly ask the other team if they will let you get some points for the reward.

What does 1k tenacity offer? Don't use metaphors, use math.
Giving up 20k HP seems like a very big sacrifice.
