I've never seen anyone get killed by CoS since my TR was both lvl35 and fun to play. That's roughly about the time of the latest TR. rework. And even then I quickly preferred DS over CoS.
And even with SoD, I can't imagine CoS alone killing something stronger than say a formorian warrior. It just lacks the damage to multiply enough to do more. I"m pretty sure there's more at work here than just that.
I doubt I could do the same on my TR with DS which can do a lot more damage in those 6 seconds. But it's not BiS, so I could be underestimating the combination
I'm not an expert on the rework 6 TRs but just the same, I'd love to see a log proving what you say before I accept it. I might actually dust it off and see if there's some fun to be had.
And even if it does, if you read the SoD description, you'll notice that defense has absolutely nothing to contribute. No point mentioning that as it's completely irrelevant. For the purpose of SoD, your defense is 0, no matter what the real number is. So the build you have might be inadequate to take on a TR. Deflect on the other hand, might just do it. Just a thought. As a HR I would prefer deflect over def anyway. You'll still take the SoD damage of course, but it might keep the CoS damage acceptable and with that, the SoD damage.
And what's wrong with maraudering out of his range and have someone throw an AoE nuke on that area? Something that stuns would be useful.

Shadow Of Opportunity (SoO) ignores tenacity and defense. I am dying with CoS + SoO + shadow strike to repeat. My deflect is 49% and my deflect severity 60% (with elixir). I am 3989 IL with full PVP set (including rings).
I have major deflection kits and silverys 11 + cruels 11 (49% deflection is very high FYI).
I am not lying, but If you dont trust me I dont care.
BTW What Is SoD? You are talking about SoD and Im talking about SoO. SoO ignores all, its piercing damage.
Some do... The ones who like to hide and remain safe. NOT ALL follow that crowd. More and more are seeking other builds.

Anyway permastun does not kill and is not perma at all. You can dodge or use CC breakers. And the dps of hr trapper is very low compared to another classes, roots is the only thing they have.
Maybe you are a sab tr with SoO but I will keep my debate here mate .
TR sab with SoO and perma is the only class that can kill another no matter what defense/tenacity they have.
Tenacity is for pvp, why are there skills from tr that ignores tenacity? very op.

Find out what you want to nerf instead of messing with the builds of the entire class. Wk's needed SoD to kill things fast so everyone lives longer. Sabo's have a tanking aspect that helps a lot. Scoundrel has CC like a madman.
All nerfed because people complained about THE CLASS.
I have no issues with fixing the perma issues.

Your issue is that you stack deflect instead of HP, but hey it looks like you dont want to adapt and change your build to counter specific class.
I've p.vorpal and lol set (around 2.2k itemlvl on my TR) and despite these strong items i cant kill many classes even if i throw 15-20 CoS out of Stealth. I might even record you a video from pvp if you have a doubt.
Piercing dmg is good only when there's no healer in the game or when players stack non-HP defensive stats.
So I need to stack HP instead of deflect just for a TR feat. :rolleyes: I have no problem with any other classes/builds, I dont win always but Im ok with that.
But man, a TR in 1 vs 1 melts down players with shadow of opportunity as piercing damage. +10K hp would not change that.
Please send me videos of a in TR 1 vs 1 with SoO + SS + CoS + LM, of a medium player TR, losing the duel.

In the Image everybody can see enough damage to kill 1 player, just in stealth with SoO and CoS.

SoO + CS + LM hits for 8K (4+2+2). You can see in the image. But this is not the worse, I will come with more logs because I saw 10k hits. This log is from a medium weared TR.
100K HP/8K HITS=12,5 CoS hits.
Yes, I jump and dodge like crazy, but dodge is not infinite, and SS restart the process when Im out of stamina. Just to remember, my deflect is 49% and my deflect severity 60% (with elixir). Full poted and 4K gear.

That is a straight up, pure, perma-stealth built TR.
Not to mention he has the Lostmauth set... that is the problem... not the SO.

I can tell you that I do have SO proc, but it does not kill people. The SO bonus comes from being in stealth... and ONLY stealth. The ONLY thing I use in stealth is DF or DHS... I rarely use encounters with stealth on.
There is an issue with SO... that does need to be addressed. However, if they mess with another TR tree... they will have to make the other 2 tree more viable than they are now.
BTW... many skilled TRs feel that sitting back and tossing knives from stealth is weak. By "skilled" I mean people who actually do theory-crafting and build development. If you use the "cookie-cutter build", you play a TR because it was dominant at some point.
Other TRs can do whatever they want to me... that does not prove their point.

When I face a TR that does not use the sab SoO Im happy, even if I lose the fight, because Its fair. And TBH I realized my gameplay level after watching some TR vids. Its ok, Im not the best, but please, I dont want any TR killing me with SoO.

As I said... I will proc SO... but I do it in your face, at your back, or from Path of Blades from Stealth. My DHS will kill you because it stacks bleeds like my DF does.

Most TRs give away their position when they use Cloud of Steel
Most TRs will not use impossible to catch while stealthed, so they are vulnerable to CC
You can use the domination node to guess the TR's position
The majority of TRs suck. Only a few of them are really good. This is also true for any class. However piercing damage is unnacceptable, it's been breaking the pvp balance since it's been implemented. No matter how much you work on how tenacity and DR works with piercing damage it wont matter

that will probably never happen. scoundrel dazes were only strong against cw/hr since they are the only classes without a powerful defensive ability but it still got nerfed.
not sure about executioner since i was never bothered by that hit-and-run build since i can just deflect or dodge the incoming hit. also, how many versions of executioners and their shadow of demise have we gone through?

In order for the feat to NOT be turning the entire attack into piercing damage, it would have to be boosted by 1333% in total. Getting back into stealth is just a pain because the stealth regen doesn't happen for scoundrels when taking damage.

My Mentor in CA uses MI/Sab, but he is not perma. I use a build that is as close as his is possible and am a WK.
Being Sab is not the issue. Making the choice for perma is the issue. ItC is the issue.

I have the LM set and another players have the lm set and dont melt 4k players like butter.
Check the numbers, SoO is 4K, CoS 2K, thats enough. LM is 2K plus.
