Like duh. Why would they give you anything decent if you (the player) can get artifact equipment, and then start buying Zen for refinement (PWE betting you get discouraged at the lack of actual reward drops from grinding, and choose to just BUY into "convenience").
Yup, its as if we bought what we thought was a home (with our attention, time and for many, money) but instead it was a hotel room, and mod 6 was checkout day.
yeah, but those artifact weapons aren't much better than ensorcelled mulhorand until they hit legendary, and even then after you've invested millions of AD and RP, they're not "4.8 million RP" better. the smart money's in investing in your enchantments first.

They are because of the main/offhand powers.
Believe it or not, this game doesn't boil down to nothing but stats.
Broken mechanics, broken class designs, lack of actual content, and over zealous, bronze-age moderation?

I'm fully aware of the additional main/offhand powers. If they're worth 4.8 million RP to you, go for it. My main has artifact weapons that I have because I had them left over from mod 5 and waited for double RP to use them to upgrade the new elemental fire weapons. None of my other toons are using their mod 6 artifact weapons, and for a new character or an alt it doesn't make sense to invest in those things heavily until your actual artifacts, other artifact gear (neck/waist) and enchants are well on their way to being maxed out.
You're welcome to disagree, but enchants have only ever improved, while weapons and gear become obsolete. I'm not saying you shouldn't ever upgrade your artifact weapons, I'm saying a wiser initial investment would be in the things less likely to become useless later.
