I hope they will improve the engine. At the current state some of us can't play because of constant critical errors.
hell i get an direct x error only by standing and waiting for one of the dragon encounters....

no more dailys, seriously this isn't a daily grind game its supposed to be fun. Dailys are not fun - yeah we do them but don't misunderstand this concept: 2 million people do dailys each day therefore 2 million players like dailys. that's like saying x amount of people die in plane crashes therefore x amount of people enjoy dieing in plane crashes.

If this is to be a team game, make it such make it full of dungeons that require teamwork not dragons which require a zerg of people to stand in one spot or 3 spots killing a dragon over and over and over each day.

Devs .. hey brass staff, playerbase has spoken and is begging for us to quit this rng/ daily grind junk, can we just release a set of new farm dungeons and maybe some ten man content..

Brass Staff " Shut up, we will tell you what the players want, players want another 6 months of grinding at least"

Devs... well thats not what they said..

Brass STaff.. "why you listening to them anyways.."

Be prepared for more rng, hes and daily grind junk..

Joy of it, well you guys be prepared, ill be looking for another game if they dare slap us in the face like that again. Of course they probably will remove this comment, which they shoudnt, they should pass on the playerbase huge frustation over the course of the last couple of modules instead and make sure its not falling on deaf ears.

Still trying to get my artifact belt and the right artifact weapon from this mod...I don't think I will ever get the belt but I'm gonna hate having to spend more time grinding for something else. Please, I really hope the new items are gettable other than just constant farming or paying crazy ad. I hate rng :(

Edit: I loved icewind dale! It was amazing, it added open pvp and some great new stuff and I had a good time there and still spend most of my time there. Also it didn't feel like grinding, the drop rates on BI gear was actually good (at first) and people could get the gear at a decent, not that annoying rate. It also added a few more ways to make ad and gold. I hope the new mod follows icewind in a few ways.

I see the pessimism can't start early enough can it... people ask for more content.... they get content... then complain about imaginary content they predict or complain that we shouldn't be progressing through the story so fast lol... make up you minds either you want more content or not... so tired of needless complaining here's a thought if you don't like the game content move on and play another game.

Looking forward to the lore with the new Mod. Ya the grind sometimes can be really bad depending on how they do it. The trick for the game companies is to make the grind not seem like a grind. No matter how you slice it will be some kind of a grind to stuff. But the grind should have a definite endpoint you can get to. Like the books in ToD that you need for the last two boons. You can get them randomly or you can grind your soul away to get them. Hundreds of dragons to meet their deaths. It would be nice to have some variety in the boons more than what we have had.

I would like to see Foundries scale past 60...that if all are 60+ then it would scale to the average GS...10000 would be lvl 61, 12000 would be lvl 62, 14000 lvl 63, 16,000 lvl 64, or something like that. Just to give the Foundry content a little more challenge.

Most people don't like dailies and everything is unrewarding. They want an experience similar to what CN brought us. CN #2 would keep people busy for a long time. The content we have now is content we kind of fly through but prolonged in a way that we don't really want to do it. A rewarding long and hard dungeon however would let people decide how much they want to do it and they can keep doing it when everything else has gone beyond stale.

A year ago content was harder since we had much less gear, and it was all rewarding. Now we have rare drops and overall it's less rewarding than still farming CN especially when everyone flies through the content. Plus a 15 min dungeon is pretty much a skirmish. In fact the skirmish is actually harder.

lets add perma-death to final battle with Tiamat. that should scare the whales of losing their precious 20k gs legendary geared egos. get back to rollin a lowbie yo

huh. not a bad idea, actually - though it will never happen, it's not how Cryptic has ever operated it's games. Don't know about a perma-death, but maybe some sort of penalty like -1 constitution per death. Then, you restore one lost point per invocation...

isn't that too soon? less than 1 month away? on the other hand they tried to have Mod4 to be released at the same time for all their products, so it makes sense.

Recycle assets, introduce dailies. Make simple braindead heroic encounters and just gate the reward using RNG to replace intelligent design.

Not counting ToD all other modules had at least new open maps. that alone takes time to create. not counting new assets needed for those new maps.

This sums up the reason I'm kinda opposed to the whole ToD storyline in NW. It's way too early to be fighting someone like Tiamat.
1. Tiamat is a goddess. Fer Real and HAMSTER. This is a divine being we're fighting.
2. NW runs on farmable content with an ever increasing RNG.
3. This isn't the last module. The game just started.

If there is a Tiamat fight, you won't be fighting the goddess. Most likely you're be fighting her Aspect, in a last ditch effort to stop the Cult of the Dragon from actually bringing her back. If she takes the battle field, we're going to need far more than a few Paragon level heroes to stop her.

Housing is something that, if done right, I can see the appeal of. Gold/AD sinks are needed for much of our community, and this kind of custom space has a lot of appeal to player vanity. I might even be interested in getting housing. But this is FAR from a top priority for me.

First: Stop killing the game with endless dailies and recycled content (Taking a look around these forums, it sounds like ToD is driving players away in rather significant numbers). I'd say actually get rid of them, or change the requirements of progression to give other options. Also, give us new content that is actually NEW. I don't want the same quests I've been running in literally EVERY ZONE IN THE GAME, only reworded and using Severin's Cult instead of Nashers/Orcs/Zombies/Lizardfolk/etc...
Second: REALLY Overhaul the Foundry because it could be the real lifeblood of this game, and with some fixes would be ideal for player retention. (Which seems to be needed considering the above issue) This includes some major updates like:
• Much better Search function to locate the quests we are looking for
• Real Bosses
• Rewards that make running them worth people's time, and don't exclusively steer players towards 15 minute quests
• Levers/Interactables that can be switched on and off, or interacted with repeatedly, to allow for some real puzzles
• Spawn NPCs on site of component complete. If we authors want the players to talk to someone after defeating them, we have to guess where they will be. It's weird to see someone fall to the ground, only to suddenly reappear 20 feet away.

THEN we can see about housing.

If they take a step back and develop housing for us, then the housing takes 8-16 months to complete...if it ever completes.

The two very, very simple reason I want Guild Housing are: A HUGE AD sink, and more time for other teams to make enjoyable team play content. I get sick of soloing everything in the game. We seriously need more team play dungeons. I was bored with ToS in beta, hasn't gotten any more fun since then; and definitely hasn't gotten more difficult.

Hello ! there !

I am an old player in Neverwinter and I played too many MMORPG games but what make me curious for this idea is so cool .... Here's the idea in Neverwinter I see a lot of people going to moonstone mask or the other bar's houses sitting and having fun well My idea is to have a home in neverwinter like decorations will be cost by astral diamonds and your companion also live with you :p:p:p and also you can invite your friends to come over and I think its not a really good idea but I will keep players happy for a while :)

Lol i actually like this idea. Maybe your companions and fashion items get places in your house. As you collect more thing, your house expands.

Agreed...one could buy homes of various levels from a one bedroom to a mansion and pay in Zen and upgrde them with AD's. This was done back in 2011 by players offering mods in the game skyrim so i would assume its of no challenge to these devs.

In home portals, merchants etc... one might pay in ADs a form of property tax/ maintenance fee or Zen. The more bells and whistles/functions you add on and the larger the home you buy the greater amount of daily/weekly etc you must pay in mortgage fees etc.

people usually do a foundry to hang out similar to a house like thing. I think some people have different RP foundry's for this although never been to one.

having a housing system and a stable for mounts, (separate loading map for each player- an instance map), requires a LOT of server space and i doubt that theyll buy a new powerful server for housing system ,while the number of players becomes smaller every month.

Oblivion offline game = cool housing system

Interesting;

If indeed the # of players are steadily reducing, what do you think is the most significant reason? All the power reductions / nerfing ?

I would think its because of that or people just get easily tired of doing daily's all day for campaign progress.

EQ2 has a housing system much like what people seem to want. And that game came out in 2002. Wildstar also allows you to you have you own house. So its obviously doable, cryptic just chooses not to for whatever reason.

This can be a reason and many more (such as even a 0.002% chance for a special drop-bind on pickup, can convince someone to quit). Remember small details makes the big difference.

Every game is good in it's way ,just like a human being, and i hope Neverwinter won't fall in "survival mode" just like (last time i checked) Allods Online. Allods Online with insanely expensive prices has only few online players and mostly are cash players - u can see that by the cash shop mounts which some of them are (or were) , by the way, bind on pickup. There, another reason leading to this, is also the crappy crafting system in that game.

An important strategy which still works on chinese online games is to have some daily rewards just for being online :
-stay online 1 hour - you receive something for the first hour
-stay online 3 hours - reward for 3 hours
-be online at 21 pm GMT or so - a special daily reward
(see PWI game how many daily login, daily rewards, weekly events has...for MANY LEVEL RANGES)

how many login rewards has neverwinter ? ZERO. (what ? the free daily potions in icewind map? ...)
And the invocation is kinda old , ppl will love something new always as a login reward.
As for daily events ?- same old. (the dungeon delves frequency has been reduced and the purple drop chances from bosses too)
As for special event someone said : "We have to wait 1-2 weeks or more for a special event ...!!" -Hit L,check Calendar, you'll probably see only 2 boxes with weekly events in a month and those are mostly :Foundry Update!..

It's about game managements too.

Listen to the players and you'll find out that they want more new short events not only endless campaigns or same delzoun/moradin/DD/Foundry events.
*summer festival-maps full, siege event-maps full,winter festival-maps full too.

Events are events, some of them must be rare according to the rewards or related to real life season too but seeing in Calendar in a month only 2 Foundry Update it is ....

Oh and why there is no real server shuffle every 3 hours or so for Best/New/Featured/etc for foundries in the Home page ? for about a week we see the same foundries to play ,except the More button..and we wonder why ppl dont play often foundries..

How about to make a new dungeon from a good foundry to be available in queue as rare event every 3 months or so just like an skirmish event ? I could create lots of new daily rewards/events just from the available content.I can find ways to keep players in a game..I can design new challenge instances ..
Why ? Because i can. My 2 foundry are Challenge and combat focus based/rated.
