This is nuts.....

OK i have nothing against companies making money but some items and services take the cake. Case in point the latest item the book of the dead they want 6000 zen for a Green uncommon item, I might be about to swallow it if it was for a purple item or possibly green and acct wide unlock. This is grabbing as much money as possible when there is no need the game is over a year old now I include the open beta in this as well cause we were able to spend money during that time, so you know people are playing. I don't understand why you are basically increasing prices instead of decreasing them, ok sure you decrease the mount a little and your weekly sale on 3 items but that's it. I know the people in control of it aren't going to listen to me but that's my thoughts on the matter.

    Maybe it's priced so high in order to make buying a bunch of keys look like a better option - even though one is a guaranteed purchase, and the other is still down to random chance.

    Kind of wish I avoided this game. It's heading in such a bad way that they don't care about giving value to paying customers. The game is less rewarding, which isn't as bad to me whos already managed to farm a lot than new people. Suppose they can get by with rank 7s for the most part though and no perfects as long as they don't expect to ever compete with the top guilds in pvp.

    Think of all of the content you could get with $60 elsewhere, whilst here you get 1 artifact not even levelled up.

    I have been playing NW for a while now. I have 9 level 60 characters - the highest level enchant any of them have is one with a level 6 enchant. None of them have any weapon or armor enchants beyond a "lesser". I have no problem running any of the game's PvE content. That being said, if you want to be competitive in top-end PvP, then yes, you are going to have to shell out some cash or grind heavily since it's a player-driven arms race.

    I too have been playing for a while, the most I have is 1 rank 9 and rank 8s. I have now 7 "main" toons, but do have enough ad that I could max one out, but want prices to fall first. This was with how farming was more beneficial in the past and coal wards weren't 500k and dungeons didn't have bop loot meaning I can't replay the old dungeons if I wanna be somewhat rewarded which is what should happen. I've played an unhealthy amount and I just feel bad for other players having to start out now. I probably shouldn't have made so many toons tbh, probably making me grumpy doing the campaigns too many times :P

    In a way, things are quite a bit easier for new players - once you are able to get a character to IWD, you'll be able to get tons of R4 and 5 black ice enchants, and pass them along to your new characters. Once you get 2 characters there, you'll be able to load up all future alts w/ 3 artifacts.

    Now, yes, the change to the 7-day celestial coin box has greatly impaired my ability to delve into getting normal or higher weapon & armor enchants, and I find it weird that I'm now turning to all the Tarmalune bars I've been saving up, instead.

    I did the same thing just before they became bop. Would have been silly not to even if I wanted to save them :P

    If you don't like $60, you could always buy it on the AH for $90. Yes, $60 sounds like a lot for what it is, that is until you you realize how much it would cost to get it normally. Have a look at the Forgehammer of Gond, last I checked it was selling for over $300. What about the Emblem of Seldarine, I believe it's somewhere between $60-$70.

    Hard to find items sell for $60+ on the AH every day this is a fact, it's just shocking because you are seeing it on the Zen store which you aren't used to.

    No ,it is shocking because before launch the lead producer said that they would NEVER give players the ability to buy power directly from the zen store , do you seriously think this is where they will stop? getting artifacts from lockboxes is one thing , you could open ten thousand and not get a artifact , buying artifacts directly from the cash shop is buying power .

    "Power" is relative - with the release of Module 3, you can get a bunch of account-wide artifacts just by getting at least 2 characters to IWD. At the same time, you could buy packs that gave you a purple weapon w/ an enchant in it upon reaching level 60 (Delzoun weapon + brilliant enchant).

    My interpretation of the statement is that I can't go to the Zen store and simply buy top-end weapons/gear and enchants by forking down some money, as a direct purchase...

    "Power" is relative

    Actually it's not, i think it's pretty clear, if you buy something that increases your stats then you're buying power.
    Your interpretation is that if you can't buy ALL best in slot gear then it doesn't count.

    I also want to touch on these two posts as an example of why we don't permit P2W discussions. Each person has a differing definition of what they consider to be "P2W" and they would defend it to the death. In the end, the excessive moderation (because flaming and trolling would get way out of hand) required for such discussions left us no choice but to disallow the topic entirely.
