Epic Unlucky Luck...!

Hi! all

k so after playing NW for soo much time...had started with 1 Control wizard character..still have it...luv it but the luck in getting artifacts and any other stuff (even stuff by greeding on em, that is when all in group agree to greed on items so as to be fair) is just epicly unlucky...yes u heard me...EPICLY UNLUCKY 'luck' (i no theres no such word as epicly..but its just there to show the height at which im having luck issues in the game)

i mean i've been through numerous DD, Skirmishes, Daily quests, prayings, soo many that i dont even remember when i started my journey in the game as a control wizard...and yet i have only the 2 artifacts i got through quests (1 from artifact recovery and another from the glory points) except that i have never ever ever eeeeevre...come across any artifact yet (i mean not just as solo but even while DD-ing, skirmish-ing or others as a team..)...its almost as if i have a 1 in a billion chances of getting any artifact(s) or even epic (purple) gear from sharandar or dread...which is almost tooooooooooo unfair im my point of view...especially as i see sooo many daily pass me by and have more than just 2 artifacts (yes obviously they mighta bought 'em...but some claim to differ)

hell been through sooooo freaking many DDs, skirmishes, GuantlGrym DD, and even daily quest Dungeons at sharandar and dread but yet even in terms of my luck on greeds/needs im just..speechless...i mean its almost like a ratio of 1:100, where 1 outa 100 DDs might get me the chance on the dice roll to get me the stuff offa greeding/needing!?!?

hell ive even been through 1 other characters (1 DC) and found nothing much (in terms of luck) and deleted it too and now on 3rd character replacing the DC (GWF) but its just ridiculous in terms of luck for me to start another character...

along all of that...even the green ranked artifacts are toooo costly to buy..i have even stopped wondering how do people buy items uploaded on AH @1000,000,.. kinda AD prices!?!?

now i wonder if ur gonna take all of the above as a question or a statement or what so ever...but on my end i just wanted to get this outa my stomach as everytime im off to doing DDs, skirmishes or any other stuff..all i end up doing is face-palm and -> :mad: at my darned 'luck'..

the rarest most unwanted 'luck' u can find around i guess :(

    posted this here as im not sure if its a -in-game problem with me (so as to post it in bug-reports or technical support) or is it common (if it were i wouldnt be looking at sooooo freaking many people walking by me in-guild, friend's list or else where with such sky-high 'luck')

    I have 6 60s, one of each class. Until recently I ran the Dread Ring lair daily on each of them, using the highest level gauntlet as soon as I could unlock it.

    Three of the six have the Eye of Lathandar artifact from the lair, three don't. I have never seen an artifact drop in any skirmish or epic dungeon, much less roll on one.

    So I would say your luck is quite typical. People "guesstimate" that the drop rate for the Eye artifact is roughly 1%, same or lower for others.

    Deleting your DC was a mistake, however. You could have gotten the CW and DC class artifacts for free if you had two qualifying characters who could enter Icewind Dale.

    So plug away on your GWF, then you can get the CW and GWF artifacts.

    you're never going to find an artifact (other than the into free one and the class one and the Eye (3 total)) solo.
    skirmishes also, i don't believe, drop artifacts.
    neither do most DD's; you have to do MC or VT.

    sorry bout your luck, but i run mostly solo and have 8 artifacts available on most characters (1 free + 1 Eye + 6 class artifacts).

    seriously though, get 2 characters to IWD and do the class artifact; that will give you 2 more artifacts per character

    Yeah, some of us are just like that.
    I've long ago learned that, if an item is a Random Drop, I just need to learn to live without it.
    Fortunately, with Icewind Dale you can get some really powerful Gear just with regular Play, including an Artifact tailored to each Class that is claimable on all characters on your account, some of which give some really nice Stats. The Main Hand Weapon and Bracers are still Random Drops, sadly, but you can otherwise outfit outfit and artifact yourself quite well now without bowing to the Random Number Gods.

    Incorrect. there's a small chance they'll drop, just don't count on it.

    Reportedly from both, but extremely rarely. As in, so unlikely as to might as well not exist for the average player.

    I saw Shard of Valindra's Crown dropping once in VT. I rolled 98....a guy rolled 100. On topic...

    Just so you are aware, artifact drops are extremely rare, a lot of what you find in AH I think come from lock boxes as one of the drops there is an artifact provision box which as I recall drops and artifact. As far as I know I think any boss can drop an artifact (I saw a green one drop from PK, although I did not win that loot roll). I think since December of 2013 (when i started playing) I have seen a total of 2 BoE artificats drop from bosses (neither of which I won the loot roll on) and I got my first artifact from Dread Ring, eye of lathander I believe, which was on my CW which sucks cause I would have liked that on a different toon (so wish those where BtA).

    So don't fret much over luck, until MOD3 most people where just like you, they got the main artifact and then they got the PVP artifact. Now that MOD3 is out you can now fill out all your artifiact slots with the artifacts you unlock for your classes (I have 5 level 60 so I can have a pretty nice array of artifacts). In your case you will easily get your CW 3rd artifact (sigil of controller) once you get to IWD. If you start another character you can get the main artifact then either get teh pvp or wait til its at level 60 get 3 boons and then get its class artifiact and then get your CW artifact.

    I personally am annoyed at the new drop rates for BI gear ... if you think your luck with artifacts is bad wait til you are shooting for just a piece of gear you want and never being able to get it or find what drops it.

    I have two Eyes of Lathander in my cleric. He's the only one running Dread Ring.
    I got Aurora's Catalogue in the Dread Legion Skirmish, chest.
    Saw Pirate King drop Aurora's 2x times but lost the rolls.

    Now artifacts are easy to get, there are many of them in the PVP store or PVE campaign with two characters.

    RNG of items like the IWD gloves are much worse because you can get stuck without being able to play the game content.

    Congratulations on being Normal. I say until I get it doing such an such the person must have been mistaken that they got it that way. j/k The RNG gods aren't very fair in this game.

    Yep, about as likely as being hit by lightning twice while hiding in a cave just after winning the lottery.

    The OP is the reason why I loath PVE. Look at all the time invested for minimal return. I'd rather focus on AD creation and buy what others have farmed.
