for others to understand this, just look at the 2 previous campaigns. You can unlock Valindras and Malabogs within the first few days of starting the campaign, but now have to practically finish Icewind Dale, and craft a new set of gear in order to try the skirmish.
I totally agree that the time to access new end game content should be longer than 2-3 day but, like i said earlier, u need to have end game gear to access end game content doesnt make sense... at least to me, they should implement a system where u need something else than crafted end game gear to access the epic skirmish with the same 30-35 days of "farming" daily quests.
The objective in MMO's end game content is getting end game gear i believe. Also the fact that u need craft to enter a dungeon is foolish, u know a lot of people dont like to play craft at all so why obligate people to craft ?? MOSTLY when they are just releasing ONE dungeon !!!!!
Im here for a longgggg time, long before the game was released and i was one of the person who defend crafter's should be able to do the "best" items in game but that doesnt mean to be the only way to get the "best" items.
I trully dont understand what devs have in mind with this kind of content release, i trully cant understand. Neverwinter have a huge potential but everytime a new mod comes out my hopes drops more and more.
I think all of IWD is end game content that you progess through HEs PVE and PVP boons gear weapons yetti pets and artifacts. It will not take you 35 days to get 2 pieces of gear that will allow you to farm the skirmish. And the "crafting" is only three levels.

By only 3 levels u mean farming dailys for what ?? 2-3 months ?? Man i like craft so much that im still using CN weapons and im still using the same gear since beta. Do u trully believe thats progression ?? The only progression i got since beta release was 3 artifacts and boons... nothing else. Not even a piece of gear. i dont want to say thats equal for all classes but for DC's that is how it work.
Those of us that have played IWD since launch on Preview have all (for the most part) "crafted" enough gear to enter the skirmish by the time we obtained our second/third Boon. It should take a couple of weeks, not months. By the time you finish your Boons, you should (hopefully) have all your BIS Gear (I hope it ends up BIS) for both PVP/PVE, in one set. I like this system much better than previous RNG or Crafting Grinds, however that may just be because I was lucky enough to get the gloves to drop on like the 3rd day. My advise to anyone that reads these threads is to play the preview BEFORE COMMENTING, as I believe you cannot fully understand or appreciate the new Mod without doing so.

Go onto the official black ice crafting thread and give feedback on how the corrupt and purified sets can be improved to make them more desirable to you then , the developer is still taking feedback on stat allocation and in some cases seems to be acting on the feedback.
OK im confused, is the crafted gear needed for the skirmish, the dungeon or both?
Either way I think its ridiculous to need anything other then a min gs score requirement to enter a skirm or dungeon once you hit 60, you know, like the rest of the freaking game is lol.

I dont think i will be ussefull there because for me all the new mod is wrongly implemented. And yes i already try it but im not play for one month non stop, i reach the 2nd area and i left.
Like i said im here for a longgg time and trust me, im a bit tired of saying at foruns about my most concerns about this game and actualy devs are going the oposite side (ofc is not because of me :P)
Dont get me wrong, theres some pretty cool stuff on this mod, loved the idea of open PvP and PvE events, like the idea of epic skirmish and the art of designers are getting better and better every module but alot of players are already leaving the game because of the lack of challenge and content, mostly content. Now honestly, tell what i will do in this module and in neverwinter after 1 month of getting the craft (according to niadan is 1 month), farming enough dailys to get the epic skirmish, make some runs to epic skirmish until i do it with my eyes closed and obligated to farming dailys (for more than 1month for sure) so i can get my boons. Then i will start to PvP even if im not a PvP person.
Im not an hardcore player and actually neverwinter was the first MMO i have played that i got all the gear i want and worst.... in just 2-3 weeks lol and no, i never spent a dime in this game.

with new module theres only 1 Epic Skirmish, no new dungeon delve as far as i know

So you obtained more than you paid for. So no rights to complain
And I'm a DC too, and I have used pretty much every armor and weapon in game...so "for DC's that is not how it work"

Well, the reason i dont spend money in this game is because i dont need to, and thats actually a very good thing. I can thank cryptic for that for sure. About DC gear, ofc u can use life steal and armor penetration but that doesnt mean thats the right stats for DC's mostly when some powers isnt/wasnt using armor penetration. (not sure if its already fix) Actually i dont even know why u want to use those stats, the build that is rulling now as a DC is buff/debuffer.... not even as a healer DC's are needed now lol
U guys are getting me wrong, im not saying everything cryptic does are bad at all... actually we can thank for a free to play who release new modules every 3-4 months which is great. The game combat is simply amazing.
My only concern is about Dungeon Delves content. I can understand cryptic dont want to make the same mistakes as other MMO's about power creep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxszx60ZwGw but that doesnt mean they need to release only 1 Dungeon every new module they release. They can make new loot system where u need to run more than one dungeon and kill more than one boss to get ur new gear, doesnt matter if is artifacts, armor, weapons or jewlery. Huge chain quests for example with multiple dungeon delves runs to finish it.... Not just 1 run and bang u get ur epic from chest and will never do the dungeon again unless to help some friends.
I stop playing the game for arround 1 month, watched preview server meanwhile and i will definly keep playing when new module is released but i dont want to do the CN runs farm like i did since the game was released.... CN or anyother new dungeon they release.... The CN run kind of game is done for me and if that type of game cryptic will force me to play then my only option is leaving neverwinter for good.

No mmo is perfect for all player types and unlimited constantly changing content. However, I do believe the new MOD will be a pleasent and challenging change of pace and I hope that others like you will enjoy it as much as I have on the preview shard.
yada yada, unlock Kessell's and then still have to play for 1 month straight!!!!!
There is a weekly instance that takes less time than Arcane Reservoir in Sharandar and it's quite fun.
It offers 50 Caer-Konig coins a pop, so if you run the reputation quests for a Maximum of 35 times, you can then just do the Caer-Konig instance run once a week to top up the shop investments and boons, seemed there were enough faction currencies left over from the 35 days of 10 reputation per day.
Besides the rep quests took ~1hr in both zones, the quests were rewarding Black Ice too, aside from the bonus of running an Epic Heroic in a guild group or friend-pug, all the gear for Kessell's Retreat falls into place naturally during that course of 35 sets of rep quests.
Then there is the PvP ladder to establish yourself on, Kessell's Retreat is a nice lore-adherent inclusion to what was the PvP module.
We can hope that from here on out, Cryptic develop more Instance/Dungeon+Epic Skirmish+PvP Flesh content EACH patch but it's still good progress for in-game development, imo Kessell's Retreat itself is much better than candyland Sharandar (which was good content, but a little to Unicorn).
Only "gripe" I have about Kessell's is the split stats on the gear needed, meaning 4/4 is the only real choice to improve "overall" , I've not checked the stats recently. 100% agree.
Each module put out by the Devs, thus far, has shown significant growth in both content and design paradigms. As stated, nothing is perfect, however the continuous growth bodes well, in my mind, for the game and my enjoyment of it!
However, I do believe the new MOD will be a pleasent and challenging change of pace and I hope that others like you will enjoy it as much as I have on the preview shard.
Yes I agree on this , if nothing else at least the mod has the HE's that I love to do and that gives us something to keep us occupied in the new maps after dailies are done ,plus there's the pvp too , I'll definitely be jumping into the pvp when the pvp HE pops , this module is a step in the right direction compared to the last 2 modules.
Make possible to use 2/2 armor set,
so lower 20% Black Ice resistance to 19% or increase armor Black Ice resistance so it go over 20% when using 2/2 set.
I opened "Kessel Retreat" -EPIC skirmish week ago and I know only handfull players who have "gloves" and all those play game different daytime than me or just disappeared from preview, .
Has anyone here tried "Kessel Retreat EPIC skirmish" on preview server.
Today we grinded Dwarven Valley several hours for fun 1xHR + 2xCW, most HE´s (type was easy for us and some off them we skipped because three players team cant protect/controll them(four can do it). We got HAMSTER and again HAMSTER, no gloves, just drops what became usefull after you get 350 Konig reputation.
OFC, we had fun play, but its extremely frustrating do Pve campaign when you do not know if some items drops or not in location where you play.
Well, week and I can finish campaign, hopefully more people got gloves so we can test and comment was that EPIC skirmish worth for trouble.
ps. and soon all is wiped away, when this goes Live, its just double grind then.
Yep definitely annoying farming over 150k total black ice with no bracers (although getting the motherlode all to yourself kind of helps as well as not using the black ice pieces I do have). Done 3 epic and 44 major HEs so far since the achievement patch which I believe was added on fridays patch? More before then...

I was the HR and will second that. I am the HR he is referring to. Y'all know I finally logged after my frustration level rising and not wanting it to get to much for the glove/arm drops.
We lost track of how many HE's we did. We were even switching to IWP for the the harder HE's. I mean when we start calling the epic crafting item drops junk, there is an issue.
Two of us have been looking for the arm/glove drops for a couple of weeks now.

Some of us have simply stopped farming raw black ice...will take years to use it up as it stands now, but still no arms.
I hope you guys get your gear, because i am not logging back on until I can run this **** skirmish with you...lol I do not want to burn myself out BEFORE the Mod is live.

This is my problem and I'd guess the problem a lot of other testers have , i'm getting really frustrated trying to get the items needed to even begin testing and it's getting to the point where I'll have to stop testing completely otherwise I'll be bored to death of the module before it even gets released .
We shouldn't have to spam endless HE's trying to get a drop that should be provided from a vendor for testing purposes , I have enough to do trying to keep up with my live accounts and characters without having to spend hours a day messing about on a test server trying to fulfill the requirements to just test the new gear sets and skirmish.

Well the drop rate seems too low from at least the 3-5 man HEs, and vagueness adds a little confusion as to what qualifies to get them and with what odds. I'm guessing the 7-10 man ones have the greatest odds, though when they do pop we just dont have the players on or are willing to do it. At times there are also encounters that keep spawning 2-3 ones with no advances ones on (might be better on live if people clear more of those *shrug*. On the plus side on sunday/monday (for me) people should start being able to join the skirmish when they get rank 3 of the profession unlocked and the 3rd piece. Though really the 2 empowered pieces shouldve been fine.
Took several of us all day to put a group together for them to queue for it, but they are in. Hopefully we will have screen shots to follow. I should say them....since rangers have bugged drops and I could not go.
One issue is that it required all 5 members to be part of the same mercenary faction in order to queue for the skirmish ( it wouldn't accept a mixed faction group ) .
Is there any particular reason for this ????

Managed to form a group earlier. The GF kept spawning exit portals to out of town unintentionally which counteracted with the boss portal which wouldn't spawn as long a he was in. Once he left the instance, he tried coming back and each time he did, he kept getting kicked back to town. Although the first match he did manage to re-queue and join our instance. I kept my hv gear on with <20% black ice gear to test and got disconnected back to town with others not being in the party anymore. Possible causes: I swapped my gear on entry, I also had my key while others have already entered. However after trying again we made sure not to swap armours and he still had the same issue.
Imo the skirmish is way too easy. Though we are reasonably high geared, it still didn't feel challenging to me (I personally was less than 15k gs cw). In fact at this point we've outgeared a lot of content anyway. In the boss fight, I didn't feel particulary squishy. Although the mechanic of letting adds damage the boss was interesting. The fact that most of the items that you can get are bop from the chest also makes it pretty unfarmable. If this went live most people will probably want to do it a few times and then dump it. Black ice gear also seems helpful in icewind, however once you have mos tof the gear, you are pretty much done with the campaign and have limited use for it and it isn't especially attractive outside of other gears. I feel like this is a nice little distraction for a while but won't last long term. Especially of those wanting a challenge that artifacts have helped them outgear most of everything. There's still CN which is old and mc/vt but those last 2 are also unfarmable with bop/low drop rates. For the ones with a little less time, this may be great. For pve'er that play a lot more, they may get bored after a couple of months of all content.
One thing that I didn't considered and could be the cause of the bug... I wasn't in any faction during the playtrough, I was not in the brotherhood nor in the Ten towns. Maybe that caused all the trouble.

I was already predicted that, Devs are going the wrong way since the first module and they keep doing the same. If they feel they are increasing player base then they are doing it good for themselfs but to be honest i dont think its the case.
With the new rising of sandbox MMO's coming soon im affraid Neverwinter future will be dark and i must say i really really sad about it since im a D&D fan and i simply love how combat work in this game.
I trully dont understand whats Dev's goals with the huge lack of content.

SERIOUS BUG
Raid the Raiders in IWP drops the T1 PvP Brutal Hunter Gauntlets for Hunter Rangers instead of Black ice gloves.
Beholder in DV drops the T1 PvP Bow of the Brutal Hunter for Hunter Rangers instead of the Black ICe Bow
