Been runiing with galbe, rust, aranea and lvl 30 ion stone of alure.. so far i cleared dungeons with 90% sucess rate.. killed red dragon, draco, malabog some with and others .. so far i did not get the thief... I have been running it non stop for the past 4 days.. Seems it really worth it to buy for 5m or up if u have the AD coz running 6-8 times a day and not playing at all is sooo boring..

Is it worth it to upgrade my Ion Stone of Allure to 30? I've also got a Sprite, a Mystic Pheora and a Wererat Thief (from Drake seal trader) in my party (leveling the thief and the Sprite, so I haven't run a lvl 6 yet). Any suggestions on a fourth member? I thought about picking up Galeb but I'm not crazy about his buff since I'm a CW running decent Life Steal, I', typically topped off while running around (minus a decent boss fight).

It is actually possible to do it with only two epic pets and two blue ones, but it takes a lot of careful management, planning, and strategy, with a ~40-50% success chance to kill the boss. Wererat for thievery challenge is mandatory. Something like ioun stone + wererat + rust monster + sprite should work. I'm currently not using my ioun stone but my lvl 20ish pseudodragon, and imo blue stone is better, so don't be shy and give it a try. My tip is to reroll as much as you can, until you get the perfect dices. Don't try to fill as much as you can, taking risks is the best ways to play SCA with subpar pets. Even if you have a matching dice but you still need something else from that dice, just reroll and hope dices give you a better combination.

eg: if i need 4 perception and 6-7 thievery, and if the per/thievery wererat dice gives me 2x thievery, i will probably not use it, just because it's statistically harder to get per on this pet (like, no way the brown default dices give you magically 4 per next roll). Well, you got it, do the maths every time, know your pets and dices, and never play safety. :)

Nice guide OP. What's the approximately success rate of your all rank 30's team?

hmmm runing with a blue ware rat is really hard.... sometimes the key battles reach to 9.. and mostly some battles need a better balance one as JOker in a deck of cards... Turning it to purple beats the purpose at all... the damge it self is not so benficial...

As for success rate of all 30 lvl team 90-95% to finish the dungeon... but i run aranea for magic... stone of alure for star.. galeb for shields/atk and rust monster for a joker for 1 liner chalnges.... almost all boss batlles i use my galeb . with a few exception like green dragon w/c i use my ION stone of alure... NOw i pumped my Light foot thief to 30% and replacing it with my rust monster i have harder rate finishing dungeons coz my magic suffered greatly on challenges,,,

There rooms filled with one pecefic type of challenge makes u go back and forth through floors.. rust mnonter evens it out...

when i feel the dungeon has key challenge having purple allure is also i used. rust monster as my back up...

than going in my light foot thief in dungeons...

just get a 1 of evry kind and ull be fine... it wrks for me... i do 6-9 runs a day depends on how much in the mood im in.. smetimes more.... so i dnt say this lightly.. Glaeb is most important for Final boss challenges... is can find another stats like galeb with a better active go for it... but as far as i know and the cuurrent roster of comapanions galebs is the only puplr epic that has 4 atk/shield dice... w/o upgrading from blue.

i run with galeb for shield alure lvl 30 for key or star and aranea for magi/swirl and rust monster for 1 liner chalenges.

    lvl 30 party gives u mostly 90% success + ...

I have barely scratched the surface with SCA yet, out of curiosity if one didn't care about time/cost of leveling companions etc what would likely be the best all around group for tier 6 completions? I see you put together a list based on decent active bonuses etc but what if one didn't care about their bonuses and was thinking strictly for SCA. Looks like fun, nowhere near to having the pets to do this yet though :D

    Thanks!

I was writing a longer reply, but the forum ate it.

Basic gist: As long as each companion has a different focus (Combat, Perception, Thievery & Magic) and has unlocked all dice (Rank 26+, ie. purple quality) you should be able to tackle Tier 6 most of the time. You do not need the absolutely best in each category to win most of the time, but for each category you should have at least one companion with 3 dice.

The absolutely best (that are already purple) for each category would be:
    Combat: Galeb Duhr
Thief: Book Imp (good luck getting this one, it requires a lot of Foundry achievements, both community & author)
    Magic: Angel/Aranea/Lillend/(Mystic) Phoera/Sylph
    Per: Sprite

If you're willing to spend 750k AD, upgrading one of the blue Thieves (or the Hunting Hawk from the ranger pack) would be a perfect substitute for Book Imp. The other main options for thievery are the HotN Panther and Guardian Dire Wolf.

Upgrading a Neverember Guard can let you substitute for the Sprite, but that'll cost more overall (comparing AD:Zen ratio and purchase costs).

Pseudodragon, Honey Badger & Dire Wolf can sub for Galeb Duhr. Fire Archon & Will-o-Wisp can work as Magic as well.

    The team I'm using is:
    (C)Galeb Duhr
    (T)Dire Wolf
    (P)Sprite
    (M)Will-o-Wisp

Take a look at the dice list at the bottom of the SCA on Gateway page.

Just going to throw my team out there...

    4 Epics-

2x Rust monster (paid 487k AD)
    1x Stone of Allure (1200 Zen+750k AD)
1x Fire Archon (Trade Bars, Had enough saved on my original CW from old boxes)

Success Rate on Tier 6 has been 100% with around 85 runs. I actually regularly finish with only one or two health missing.

Payoff- No Thief Yet... but I have made over 200 gold, enough enchantments to refine an Artifact to purple, and a large supply of Buff Potions and Crafting Supplies.

Really wish that Thief would drop...

You can own multiple of the same companion, you just can't equip more than one of each type at the same time.

I'm using Phoera / Lillend Healer / Wererat Thief (from Seals) / Jagged Dancing Blade (from Glory) at the moment and I have around a 70% winrate for the t6 dungeons. 2 of those are still level 25. Still, after a ton of runs, I'm yet to get the lightfoot thief. Anyone have any ideas on what the droprate is?

Considering the amount of time i've spent doing SCA, I think it's more likely to win the grand prize at the national lottery than the blue pet. :p

Jokes apart, it's probably under 1%.

Gave up a long while ago. Stopped counting runs at 80 or so. Tried a few more day for nothing. Now I just roll the dice for daily, SCA is dead for me.

As usual in this game, rewards are scarce. We wouldn't want players to get spoiled, wouldn't we. After all, this game is more work than fun.

To offer a different view, you don't need the Lightfoot Thief to access any content and there needs to be something for those who want a long term goal. No, I don't have the thief and I'm not going to grind for it either, but goals like that are important for a certain section of the playerbase.

I really agree that currently we have more work than fun. But that's another topic. *sigh*

Yes, there should be long term goals.

Such as defeating that amazing dragon with billion HP points and lots of mechanics, where you need flawless choreography from 20-ish players to make it out alive of the 30 minutes epic fight, which rewards you with items one can even dream of.

Oh wait, there's no such thing here...

Do you know which is the best combination of companions for the sword coast adventures' tier 6 dungeons?

from my experince its 4 purples specializing in Magic and Theivery. Most straight shield challenges can be bypassed and the perception ones are for the most part only on chests.
