Alchemy Experimentation Issue

I posted this to a Gm but was given the generic response reply.

Before I start, let me say that I understand how leveling works in Alchemy and that getting recipes or Basic Knowledge scripts is random and not guaranteed. I got it, so please do not go over it.

I have advanced to level 7 without issue. However, I have done over 25 experiments now and have only gotten an unstable potion in all of them. Not a single recipe or BAK script. Not one.
I use both the in-game and gateway crafting and get the same results.

What I would like to know is if this seems to be a fluke (meaning I am just extremely unlucky), an expected level of return, or is there a glitch/bug happening?

If it is an expected level of return, I will stop Alchemy. If this is the frustration expected at level 7, I would be smashing my keyboard before level 10. Remember that I need multiple scripts per level so i could potentially be doing this hundreds of times (not including the sub material generations) just for a single level.

So, what is the expected chance of acquiring a BAK script at this level and beyond? This will tell me which of the above is happening.

    Im done today level 14. So i don't know why you have so much problems with lvl 7. O.o Have you checked that you already have the alchemical knowledge, but i can do the experimentation if i want. This is maybe only a use to make the 'funny' unstable potions.
    So open your inventory and search in the profession slot for the knowledges. And check if you can level up your alchemy in the profession. Nothing can explain that you have done over 50 experimentations without a single one knowledge received.(the chance is to low to fail so many times in a row)

    I think its just RNG doing what it does best. try another 25 times, or something's really messed up.

    Ok, I think Ladysylvia had something there. I went into my crafting and saw 0/3 scripts in the materials required. (As I have for a few days it was still red) and was unable to do the task.
    Went into my inventory and saw 3 scripts!!!
    I move them to an open spot within my inventory then check the task and they now show and I should be able to do the task.
    Putting that one down to the glitch category. The task did not recognize that I had the scripts until I interacted with them.
    Thanks for that suggestion. I will have to watch that in the future.

    I should also note that I never saw them appear when collecting rewards either. That could have been from in-game or gateway, no way for me to tell.

    This is maybe a gateway display bug/miss looking. Had this with a task of leadership. I don't look right and only the the gold/chest reward, but one item not. As i looked precisely i found it at the display. Sometimes we look to casual at such things. :/

    I wanted to come back and update this. This is indeed a problem with the gateway displaying the basic scripts or other recipes if you happen to get one. Works just fine in-game. Using Windows 8.1 and Chrome. Has now happened on both levels 8 and 9.
    So, warning, if you work professions on the gateway, check your bags to see if the materials are thereafter each research!

    I NEVER use the Gateway any longer. Ive done probably over 100 experiments and was successful only once. Also, along with not showing a successful script, I've checked my SCA bags and different slots and found nothing there.

    In game I don't have as much of an issue. Ive never kept track of my success ration in game since there are reasonable successes with the failures.

    Stay away from Gateway SCA Alchemy experimentation!!

    I've leveled Alchemy on 2 characters almost entirely through the gateway with no problems. It works fine for all professions.

    There was an issue during either the end of Beta or the early live/pre module 1 era where claiming the results of the research task on the Gateway would fill the profession's XP bar but not increase the rank of the skill. This was corrected after some time. I was stuck at rank 14 Alchemy for weeks or maybe a month. Since then, I've never had any trouble raising profession levels using the Gateway. However, since the profession was launched and as far as I know still unfixed, alchemy knowledge scrolls don't show up properly on the Gateway. But they are added to your inventory correctly. If you aren't getting them at all, the likely culprit is just bad luck.

    Levelling alchemy via Gateway has worked fine for me. Claiming the experiment tasks, there is a display issue where all you see is the potion. I don't hide tasks with unmet requirements while levelling alchemy, so when I go into the profession, I can see I have knowledge 2/3 or whatever, and then when I have 3/3 I start the research. It's fine.

    Same thing for me. No problem whatsoever.
