think this would help a lot to balance sent gwf this way other 2 gwf builds would not need to sufer from sent nerfs which are needed

? I don't even use restoring strike as a Sent PvP GWF. Not saying it isn't useful, but not necessary and removing the heal wouldn;t really do anything balance sent GWFs. The standard encounter layout is Takedown/Frontline/IBS. Restoring may be substituted to gain more survivability, but you are going to lose damage or the ability to do solid prone cycles.

I think this is a troll thread. I mean, isn't the heal pretty much the entire point of Restoring Strike? (And I pretty much only use it - on a destroyer build - when assigned to single-target a boss. It's probably not optimal either.)

From what I understand, the damage gwf were extremely reduced in pvp, right? and restoring strike regenerates according to the damage, so ... what's the point?

Restoring strike is pretty much used at low level for an extra heal. At high level it does nothing as no one really uses it. In pvp sents tend to use take down, IBS, frontline surge. In pve it's not so fast, IBS, come and get it. Not really seeing what this would effect other than lowbies needing a few more potions.

If you see a gwf using restoring strike he is 100% trolling or he is new to gwf.

Well I do slot restoring strike against cw sometimes. But it is really Sometimes.

It's in my standard rotation on both my destroyer and sentinel builds. It's a major hp mover and helps with their sustainability.

And I'm neither trolling, nor new.

My destroyer rotation is takedown, restoring strike, flourish. I will switch restoring strike for IBS or roar, or in rare GG cases mighty leap, but it is a very helpful heal to keep me up a little bit longer than usual.

My sentinel rotation is takedown, restoring strike, IBS, with IBS switched for roar or threatening rush (depending on enemy team comp). Survivability is my goal, troll build not withstanding, and outrigh damage output comes more from Deep Gash than encounter rotation.

That said, to the original op: might as well remove the whole power than. We don't need an encounter that does less damage and lacks any further application. Self heal is the goal of restoring strike, and thus it's primary component (damage output being secondary).

If they WERE to remove it for obvious reasons (those being builds like my sentinel, which simply don't die without me HAMSTER something up), it should be replaced with a useful secondary. We don't need more wasted power slots like punishing charge, reaping strike and battle fury. We need less.

I'm not sure if we're reduced. My destroyer's output, though, doesn't match my sentinels survivability/regen build. The sentinel can average five to ten kills in a game with no deaths, usually weaker links and poor players. The destroyer averages 10 to 15, but my deaths increase alot.

The overall tradeoff between kills and survivability don't seem to be equal between the two builds.

second heard the ibs of a sentinel causing 18k in pvp is now 5k this new system ... seem strange numbers, but I can assume that at the end of the adjustments the damage class should halve while critical, which includes restoring strike.

knowing that the potential for auto restoration was modified and even hypothetically gwf becoming tougher (I saw a topic a gwf "concealing" about) the gwf now be out of an endless cycle of self regeneration (damage not back out) so ... I follow without understanding the point.

The class underwent a "reboot" - super buff in pve, in pvp nerf - and mitigation will be the high point now in this new game mode (cw received a well deserved buff).

ps: reaping strike rules! bf need to reduce countdown.

ps 2: I'm saying that I think there is not reason to change restouring strike given the expected changes (not in the current scenario).
