ADDENDUM: Quest resetting appears to be either a one-time consequence of the changes or of importing to the test server, but will not occur on a daily basis. Please carry on.
This is major and deserves its own thread.
I had read the patch notes as indicating the timer reset would occur at the same time for everyone as opposed to being on based on when you accepted/completed your personal daily requirements. I was wrong about this, and it in fact currently means that if you have incomplete daily requirements at 3am PST (iirc), they will be reset and you'll need to start over from 0.
This means it is no longer possible to stretch a "daily" out over several days in order to cope with extremely long queue wait times (and choosing between losing progress in any instances you might enter while waiting for your queue to pop or not doing any questing that involves entering instanced areas), and there is far less incentive to take your time with exploring longer or unfamiliar Foundry missions (explorers like me at least used to be able to accept a "daily" and know that we'd fulfill the requirement... eventually).
It's extremely limiting and I hope the change as it stands is either unintended to work this way or reconsidered.
That is horrible. Why in the world would they do this? When you need 4 Foundry Quests to get a daily, you need to be able to stretch it out over several days.
I see nothing wrong with the Daily system as it currently stands. I really would like to know why they felt it needed a change.
The TR nerf was bad enough, but if that was all there was I could cope with it as my TR is all but shelved already (and I have a friend urging me to keep playing with him), but things like this just makes the patch even more off-putting. It's like they hear the cries of players wanting more fun and try to take away every last vestige of fun remaining to spite them.
Again, what is the justification for this?

The only reason I can think of is because if you previously don't finish it that day but instead another day, you could then requeue the daily and theoretically make 8k AD in one go. If that's the case I don't really see that game breaking since you're still having to do 8 Foundries (for example) to get the reward.
Honestly if this changes to reset your counter to 0 at 3:00 AM my days of doing daily Foundry quests are over. No drama there that's just a simple fact. I just don't have the time to do 4 PvP and 4 Foundry missions in one sitting. What I typically do now is the PvP daily then 1 or 2 foundries missions and finish that up in the next day or two. I guess they really want to put the daily in Daily. One of the things that appealed to me about NW was the casual nature of the dailies where you could go at your own pace.
This will also hurt the people levelling since they'll have to get 3-4 (not sure if you ever have to do 4 prior to 60 I can't remember) skirmishes done in 24 hours. Good luck with that with some of the queue times for like Garrunder and the bridge battle.

Also, what difference does it make if you earn 8k AD in the space of 24 hours when it means you did not earn 4k AD in the previous 24 hours for that to happen? Isn't that what the refining cap is for?
Like I said, it really puts a damper on the desire to play longer or more complicated Foundries, which were already getting the shaft from people more interested in speedrunning. I was a proponent of branching out into trying different things because you could work on meeting the "daily" requirement for as long as it actually took, even though it meant sacrificing earning ADs as quickly as if you were doing Bill4x every single day. At least it would be more interesting. But with this change, exploration would require sacrificing a daily payout altogether, unless you've got an awful lot of time on your hands. Maybe one something-new and your equivalent of a Bill3x would be a compromise... but that's still so boring.
Skirmishes, I admit that after my first character took 5 attempts to get the 3 completions to fulfill the daily with Garrundar, with insanely long waits each time, I abandoned all hope of finishing a skirmish daily before outlevelling it, even just from doing a bit of Leadership and logging in to invoke once per day. But yeah, I was trying to get the Garrundar "daily" completed over the course of a week, and struggling at that.

I agree! Personally, I might not want to grind every daily in one day. Maybe I don't have the time or I just don't feel like it. Devs stated they were thinking about re-working the foundry system to reward longer missions. I think this change is in the wrong direction. The only thing this creates is limiting the amount of A.D. one can earn in a day if you don't have the time or desire to do them all. If it's harder to get A.D. in game - where else can one turn to get A.D.....? (evil grin)

I hope you are all bug reporting this as that is what it is.
They did not intende to reset dailies to 0 for non completion within a 24 hour period.
the intent was to have a standard reset time from the completion of the dalies.
Instead of 20 hours later which is differant based on when you each finish
and based on timee zone it is easier to code to reset upon completion at a set time based on server time.
That is standard practice in Many MMO's and solve many issues.
Devs, this change is not going to work for us "time limited" soloing folk. The only reason many of us play is for the foundry quests. Their AD is the major source of our income.
Please consider another option instead of resetting the foundry quests everyday.

My initial reading of the patch notes was exactly what you wrote, that dailies would be on a fixed schedule rather than by-player.
But when I logged into Mimic, I received floating red text announcements informing me that my dailies were outdated and had been reset, and "sorry for the inconvenience".
I don't think that would have happened if it was a bug, sadly.

This is the message you see when the devs have patched the quest and it's incompatible. It's probably not a game feature.

Okay, tonight I had time to test it by doing a quick Foundry. Fingers crossed.

Yes, there was some weirdness because I have multiple outstanding Daily Foundries, which last night showed 1/2 and 1/4, and today I can only see 1/4 on the recent one, but at least there was no counter reset.

Well that's good to know. I think it would have killed the desire for a lot of people to do Foundries if they had to do 4 in one day. I usually only have enough time (and desire) to complete 1-2 in a day.
Yes. I would like to know their justification for this. But I am guessing we will be met with silence on this. I usually do my daily 4 foundry over a few days.
If they want to change it to reset every day, then make the foundry daily requirement to just 1 instead of 4 and keep the rewards the same :-)

You didn't read the whole thread. On this particular issue, all our panic was apparently for nothing.

You can uncross them - the original messages were badly worded, & badly coded as they removed the old quest, instead of doing a quiet migration.
My daily foundry from yesterday still has the advancement from yesterday.
