@graehaus, I heard the saints row series was pretty cool but I never played any of the games part of the series, Also i never heard " Record of Agarest War Zero" sounds like a shooter though, haha. @baronvonboom Nice, skyrim is awesome, I have a friend who plays killing floor, zombie game right? , I never heard of Risen,Hotline Miami, Bit Trip Runner :O. but the walking dead game is pretty cool, my older brother actually played it on Xbox360, looks very interesting.
Yeah Killing Floor is a FPS Zombie shooter but if you want to be any good at it then teamwork is a must, even on normal settings a lot of people get killed all the time;)
An yeah The Walking Dead is brilliant, its more of an old interactive story type of game but it has great atmosphere and story, probably my first game im going to get 100% achieves on steam ever..
As for the others:
Bit Trip Runner - Retro Music Platform Side Scroller - Good Fun/Good Tunes
Hotline Miami - Retro Top down beat em up style
Risen - Great Rpg, lots of friends who play Risen 2 said to give it a look an its pretty good.. cook your food over a fire.. lots of little things like that have made the first hour good fun;)
Out of all of those games i'll be honest an say that Skyrim is my least favourite tbh:/
I only ever played for 12hrs max an just got bored each time, I found it too easy but im giving it a second chance at the moment
If my computer's specs were better, I would probably buy Super Street Fighter IV : Arcade Edition off of the steam market. I was a boss at the original Street Fighter IV when I had it on PS3.
@graehaus, I heard the saints row series was pretty cool
Saint's Row 1 was one of my favorite games on my XB360 until a NPC I had to escort got stuck in the scenery for the n'th time. The problem is, it was far too similar to GTA: San Andreas. One of my favorite moments was me and my homies (literally, back then we ran a street gang) having a shootout in and around a church with another street gang. SR2 never interested me much, and SR3 was too cool for it's own good. It was fun hanging from the halicopter with one arm, and shooting tanks with my sniper rifle with the other. But it was so insanely crazy, it just got ridiculous. And SR4? Superpowers. Really. Sigh..
Anyway, I mostly play:
Nintendo 3DS
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros
- Project X Zone
PC
- Path of Exile
PS3
- Last of us (short sessions only; despite the hype, it's increeeediblyyy boooooring. It's the most repetitive game I've played in quite a while, and I play Neverwinter. Hehe. All you do is walk there, kill those, watch cutscene. Over and over and over and over and... sigh...)
- Tomb Raider (Most misunderstood game in history. Well, my history, at least.) And dat ending... wow... (yeah, I said 'dat'. That's how great the game is. Haha!)
Hmmmm.. Path of exile is pretty cool, I actually used to play it when it was first released. Really big skill tree, but I would have some random lag and desync at times that I just had to quit.

Yeah, I also thought the new Tomb Raider Reboot was fantastic. It's quite different from the previous titles though, so I can sorta understand the butthurt fanboys. I did get fed up with the tressFX hair after the intro mission.

Let's see...
Civilization V: Brave New World (played Civ since Civ 1!)
Anno 2070
Anno Online
Marvel Heroes
Forsaken World
Magic The Gathering: Tactics
Space Pirates and Zombies
Might & Magic Heroes VI (First Two Expansions, played Heroes since the beginning too!)
Star Trek Online
Champions Online
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Dungeons & Dragons (PnP - for 20 years now, FR DM for much of that!)
. . . . . Once in a blue moon I play EVE Online for a little while. Even rarer, I do meddle in World of Warcraft also. I've played nearly every MMO to hit the Western Market since 1997 though (UO was my first, from 1997-2004) and many overseas too.
. . . . . I've recently just forsaken LotRO, after having played it on and off since pre-beta. The reselling of locked houses due to unpaid maintenance is what broke the camel's back for me. Was hard enough for me to make enough money to keep my houses upkept on top of being forced to buy a Gold Increase to allow me to even try and gain enough to pay my Kinship House... yeah.. goodbye LotRO, thanks for the fun while it lasted!
Hey Zebular, is Anno Online any good? I was kind of interested when i had seen the ship, but once I realized it was one of those build kingdom games, idk I was kind of turned off, </3 . I've played champions online, I never felt the gaming experience for that game.

. . . . . It's just like Anno 1701 but browser based and top-down 2D/3D isometric only (no rotating), online, persistent and with some social and guild options. It's nothing to "ooh" and "ahh" over but it is great fun to pass the time if you're an old Anno fan. Once you get your settlements stable, you can not worry about them indefinitely.
. . . . .I've had my settlements running untouched for about two weeks now and they're still managing just fine. So, once you get stable, you really don't have to worry about logging in all the time to check and make sure your people aren't crying for your head or whether you're running low on some commodity.
@Rhoric I've played LOTRO and Rift, LOTRO is kind of cool but it feels really repetitive... and Rift felt too much like WoW. They are average games IMO, but they are both fun.

Actually, I don't think it is all that different. It's faster and more linear, but it captures the Tomb Raider-feeling perfectly. Besides, TR: Legend is 90% shooting bad guys, and even that is really good. As for Lara's hair, don't forget that one of the things the developers were the most proud of with the very first game was Lara's ponytail. It doesn't seem like much now, but it was quite an accomplishment back in those days.
(not to mention you can easily switch off the tressFX hair anyway)
Anyone playing LOTRO at the moment got any general advice on it?
Im an old AOC player but I dropped it as the populations were just getting so thin, I know they've merged servers now so maybe give it another look..
Anyways just stated playing LOTRO 2 days ago an so far it seems fine, of course the graphics are a little dated but everything else is as fleshed out as a 5year old mmo should be but im not sure if I should carry on or not...
LOTRO, IMO is a pretty lame game, IMO there are alot better MMOs/MMORPGs. The gaming experience in that game Isn't even that much a fun experience considering the game is practically dead, and there would never be any one to group with. I would say the population that still plays it now only plays it because they are Lord of the ring fans, like the movies, books, etc. I know you asked for advice / info, but i don't feel you should waste your time on it.

No its no problem at all, all info/opinion is appreciated;)
Like I say I only tried it a cple of days ago an it seems ok, shop prices aren't too bad, lots of quests etc all just seems a bit dated but I can live with that.
Im always up for trying any mmo really and think that people can play more than 1 at a time rather than the silly mmo wars we often see in threads..
Actually LOTRO is far from dead. I still encounter lots of people on Firefoot server. The problems most MMOs have is people burn thru the content so fast that it leaves then nothing to do so they leave for abit until the new xpac comes out. I still haven't finished Rise of Isenguard and I still have to buy Riders of Rohan and in the fall Helm's Deep xpac comes out.
