Hey all,
Been finetuning this quest to the point where I think it's ready for mass consumption. Would love to get your opinions on it!
**Note** This quest puts you in the role of the main character that you assume while playing. It's not meant to interfere with your character's bio, but instead put you into a fleshed out narrative. Please judge based on the quest
Quest Name (searchable by nickname - delrachnid): Revenge of the Fallen (not Path of the Fallen - can't delete post to reflect title change)
Short Code: NW-DS7O3HFAC
Type: Solo / Horror more than Fantastical
Time: 18-20 Minutes
Dialogue: Only one option. Dialogue drives the narrative
The quest is the first in a campaign called The Fall of Crimson Rain. Thanks!

edit: Just did this quest. Awesome job man. Loved the traps and use of phased event on timer. You know your stuff. Enjoyed this one.
Every time they idiot-proof something...they make better idiots.
Possibly tomorrow... Maybe day after. But I will get round to it asap.

Thx dude. Honestly this quest reminded me so much of my 1st quest (good thing). I'm a big fan of creative traps and events. Cant wait to see more from you.

I think personaly you have a winner here, a great little story, brilliantly executed with just the right amount of everything that required to make a foundry quest great.
Keep up the good work, I too have subbed for more.
take care mate,

Edit: Very much liked this one. Great work! Without spoilering for others; really had a few 'Ooooh, awesome!' moments, there.

A Book for Betrayal - A Restoration Campaign

Played as a 60 DC. Over all good. Straight forward, and easy to follow.
What stood out:
Good-
Over all a good, solid story.
Some of your effects and timers: the changing hallways, the fire writing on the wall, and the decor/placement of items/quest over all was good. Dante jumping around was nice to be able to see something happen WHILE still in the dialogue.
EDIT: Oh and the camera shaking at the end. That was cool. I haven't seen how to do that yet.
Story dialogues were direct, crisp, and well written.
Felt like a good intro to a storytelling campaign.
Not as good-
I think only saw one grammar error. There was a period of one of the question marks. I'm pretty sure it was before fighting the Bloodletter (spelling?) brothers.
As far as the quest, it was extremely linear. There was little exploration and player choice in what is happening in the story. Felt more like just a storytelling and less like an adventure that the player takes part in.
As a 60 DC the first few encounters were tougher than I would have liked. There was little ramp up to the final fight. It was more of a run, talk, fight some moderate guys, rinse repeat.
Gave it 4/5 stars because of what was good about it. What I found not good was more opinion/personal preference.
Grats on a good quest.
I accept that not everyone is going to like that style, but I felt that it suited the story of revenge to be personally tied to the story. I was getting kind of tired of playing the guy who is trying to solve the murder or the adventurer that is hired on as a mercenary, etc.
Like you said it was your personal preference and I totally respect that. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Please note my feedback is from a player-only perspective and I was playing on my L60 Control Wizard.
1) First noted on Grim and Dolf. Having the encounters immune to all forms of control does not make the encounter challenging, it just makes it laborious.
2) The Hellbeast(s) encounter was ridiculously impossible. I had to backtrack to the bridge room where luckily two of the three got stuck in the environment and became untargetable (and although still targetable, the fire elementals I fought on the way in ended up with their heads and upper body through the ceiling when I applied my choke). The third and more canny of the trio used the edge of the room to follow me into a corridor, whereby he got stuck behind two adjacent traps that allowed me to slowly wear him down with my at-will (he being immune to everything else) at no risk to my character. Once he was taken care of, I was able to run through the other two with impunity as they were busy being eaten by bricks and mortar
The glitchy environment and overuse of control immune enemies loses 2 points from the 4 I would have otherwise scored your quest.
Subjectively, to get 5* from me I would have liked some more clue-providing interactables in the house and dungeon proper and an encounter or two before Raith(?) the elementalist to build up to the finale.
As a role-player, I have no issue with being handed a character and background of the DM's choosing...in fact I'd go so far as to say you aren't actually much of a role-player if this is an issue for you.
There was lots I loved - the tragic and gory setting, the characters, the fog effects, the little extra along with the chest (trying to avoid spoilers) - so please don't be disheartened by my honest observations as a player.
I got a review this morning, that has to be my favourite so far, it said:
Endlessly trudging through Foulspawn not my cup of tea. I was not expecting a hack and slash!
I won't name the person, but they gave me a 3 star review for this!!
Endlessly trudging??? My quest takes 15 minutes if you read ALL the text! had to laugh
But the best bit... 'Wasn't expecting a hack and slash'... Err, huh? Your playing Neverwinter! A hack and slash mmo! lmao.

I'll also take a look at the lava room. I boxed the area in with invisible walls so the player would not be able to fall into the lava as they would not be able to get back up. That, and when the elementals spawn and fall in then they can't reach the player and get killed with impunity. I'll play with actually adding a layer of invisible walls just below the surface of the lava so I don't need to box in the path and cause geometry glitches. That way the mobs can fall off the path and still reach you and the player can fall and get back up. Again, great feedback, thank you.
As for Dolf and Grim. I realize it's a difficult fight, but due to the lack of being able to create bosses and the fact that they are the Bloodletter Brothers I felt the difficulty was warranted. To be completely honest, I'm not entirely satisfied with the fight. If you have any suggestions for replacement mobs that are just as difficult but are not immune I would be open to the suggestion.
Either way thank you for not reviewing in-game due to dissatisfaction. I'd much rather have the opportunity to change your mind than for you to two star it and give up
I'll take a look when I get home
