Why won't the devs remove exploit maps?

But they'd have to devote someone to actually play through the mission, and then possibly to through some process to get someone with authority to sign off on removing it.

Plus any mission they remove is a potential source of complaint and problems.

Zahinder there is no "play through" needed, which is partly why this dungeon is an exploit.

But I take your point, not all 'reported' Foundries will be correctly reported and it costs money to have a member of staff check each one. On the other hand, we have a volunteer support team here and a free and sensible precaution would be to have them/a designated member of that team, check out and confirm if Foundries reported for exploiting do indeed break the ToS.

We will see a trickle of updates here and there for the foundry while the main game gets hammered with content updates to keep the player base happy with dailies, achievements and cosmetic items that allow players to spend money to stay at the top of the game.

I dare a dev to prove me wrong.

I do hope you're wrong and I know you know the devs aren't the 'money men'. The UGC is the content that will keep players playing long after they have exhausted the official content - no matter how many content updates we get to the official campaign. The devs cannot compete with the Foundry authors on quantity or oftentimes quality, despite your not having the complete toolset at your disposal.

Pretty sad when a mod edits a popular author/streamer's post to make things look less bad.

I guess he took offense to the post, since he's also a Foundry author. You'd think with so many employees making Foundry missions, that some of them would care about getting an exploit taken down. So far though it's mostly been cover-ups, and automated responses to my reports.

I'm pretty sure most (all?) forum mods aren't employees of Cryptic or PWE but volunteers.

Zeb isn't wrong by editing my post, it is my opinion and not facts but I bet it rings more truth than not.

Regardless, they have been slow to take care of these exploit maps and it sucks. I bet if the map cut into their money making it would have been down the next day.

    Think about that.
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

And how much money have you spent on the game as an author? Zero, I know because you told me so. How much do you plan to spend? Zero. I know because you told me so. You even went so far to say if they made any foundry items pay you'd leave the game. So if that's a popular opinion why would they put the extra effort into the foundry?

IT IS ELLINDAR'S OPINION, that they should add in some foundry content that is purchasable by zen to make some money off of it and keep the game going. Make some high level models available in there like dragons and beholders, make full sets of new terrain available as one purchase in there. Etc.

Besides, in a D&D game that is all about options of classes, races and abilities, they have a whopping 5 classes available. They need to put a lot of work into the base game to get this to where it should be before they can concentrate on the extras.

The foundary is worthless. Its only useful for extra exp by those 'exploit' maps. What ever problems you have... they are not problems at all.

Because free unlimited content. The foundry is an endless supply of quests and can take some of the weight of Cryptic’s shoulders, keeping players from leaving the game when the official content runs out. Dismissing the Foundry for bringing in cash indirectly instead of directly, would be short-sighted. And I hardly think todays video game companies are shor-

Leaving them up so they can discover who is taking advantage of the exploit, give a one time big ban to a group of people instead of just the one person who created it. Banning just the one person will likely not stop the exploits from happening. Exploit maps are probably created with dummy accounts. The real perpetrators are the ones who play these quests over and over. Eliminate them and you have probably eliminated the authors main account and all of his buddies main accounts.

Awaiting a serious response from the developers on the abuse of the review system by other authors.

I wish this were the case, but they've had more than enough time to evaluate who all is playing this quest, and five starring it. It's had hundreds of plays, and is on the verge of buffaloing it's way into the Best list. The only way this situation could get worse is if they Featured or Spotlighted it, which wouldn't surprise me one bit if it happened Tuesday.

Which again is way over dramatic and emo. The devs don't deserve that kind of bashing when they've already done an entire wave of bans of exactly this kind of quest, and also the exp given on this said quest isn't gaining these people anything. Does the quest need to be brought down at some point and the quest maker given a ban? Sure. And they'll get around to it. Is the quest hurting anything right now? No, since the exploit was removed when they can't gain exp the same way for this.

You have GOT to stop yelling the sky is falling no matter what happens you don't like Wuhsin. You just continue to do it over and over again. The thing is I agree with you its a stupid quest and the maker should get banned, but can you just say that and let it go?

To begin with I just reported it, and let it go. I thought, "Oh sure, they'll remove it eventually, just like the last one." A couple of weeks later, it was still up, so I reported it again, called attention to it on the forums, and had other authors report it with screenshots and video to prove it's an exploit. That post got locked, I got berated, and bombed with 1 stars from exploiters and people who just generally dislike me and like to berate me over everything I say or do. A week later, the map is still up, so I ask why they are so slow to remove exploits, without divulging any information regarding the quest. Thread locked, a mod calls me a spammer. A week later, and here we are, calling me emo because this exploit has got me down. So, to answer your question, no, I can not let this go. I have already had my adjusted ratings crucified by exploiters for taking a stand on this matter, and I won't let those points be lost in vain. I will continue my crusade to get this quest removed until I see results, or get fed up and quit the game.

Well for the record I reported it as well. I agree it should be brought down. And at some point it will. But you've done enough, you've had a lot of people report it and done the right thing. Don't turn it into the wrong thing by going the wrong route yourself is all I'm saying. A lot of your posts that have good points get overshadowed by how you present it or go on about them. You'd find so much more reception to things if you stay on the moderate side of it.
