Rumour has it that the new class, Ranger or Warlock, will be released at the same time as the first "expansion", which is scheduled for sometime in August, I think. But that is only guesses, conjecture and speculation...
I really hope its tomorrow, for being d&d this game severeoy lacks in class and racendiversity. Also i would think those are easier to add then content.
Edit: im praying its a warlock or battlemage. Also coming soon and e en showing it seems dumb if it doesnt come out for months but thats just mo

Don't see why they would do warlock first when you have nature nodes in game and no class to harvest them without kits. Archer ranger is the next logical choice
I just think it's somewhat depressing that the game is going to "launch" in an unfinished state. When you still have "coming soon" on both your character creation screen as well as paragon paths, your game is not done.

The paragon path is what I was hoping at the very lease for tomorrow, but I know it wont be until fury... feels fairly unfinished for them to be removing the "beta" tag in all honesty. It's so strange when you hit 30 and it tells you to pick a paragon path and your presented with one choice... i.e no choice you get what your lumped with lol.

I imagine there'll almost always be a "Coming Soon" spot for the NEXT Class / Race...

MMOs are in a constant unfinished state.
You can't wait to launch them until they are finished because they never are.
Plenty of people say that once the Zen market went live, the game was no longer in beta and should have been officially launched, especially with no wipe after open beta started. Now that Crytpic is officially launching the game, plenty of people are saying it's not finished because of Paragon paths/a missing class. No matter when Cryptic officially declares the game launched, people are going to complain- that's all there is to it.
Yeah they did I have not heard one person say they haven't heard them say that until you. If everyone else is saying they did and only you are saying they didn't don't you think there's a good chance your wrong?
I really hope, they will release new classes very soon. None of the existing classes does ist for me. I want to play a paladin class, a druid class and a ranger class -.-

Well... new Profession is Alchemy, right? So why not an Alchemist?
From D&D (3.5e):
As an Alchemist, your niche is as a supporting magic user. You also have the ability to throw large amounts of alchemical substances at people to damage them, but your primary tool are your spell bombs and resins.
Just a Guess. But as Ambisinisterr says: there's no officially announced class release at launch.

My toughts also, at least makes sense in a logic way... now we all know that dev's dont follow logic very often XD

Despite the presence of nature nodes we have five classes already that don't use them. As such, it is illogical to assume they will introduce a nature node related class before a sixth non-nature node related class.
I suspect the decision as to the next class will be based on what they think will draw in the most customers, between Warlock or Ranger. Or perhaps it will be another class, well hidden enough to actually be a surprise.

Didnt anyone else notice the character holding a staff in the alchemy preview image on the news?
I noticed that, too. As far as D&D classes go, other than wizard (which we have already) the most notable 'non-obscure' classes for using staves are druids and sorcerers.
We already have fighter, cleric, wizard, and rogue, so the classes I think NWN needs would be:
- Ranger - You could 'dual-class' with this like they did with fighters; plenty of room for arcane archer, scout, tempest, etc. This would also provide a class with an innate nature lore. This also makes sense since there's no ranged dps/bowman class right now.
- Sorcerer - Since we have a wizard already (crowd control, ice, arcane) we could have a savant sorcerer with fire and lightning abilities. This would be your typical nuke/dps caster class, since CW clearly isn't built purely for that.
- Druid - This would be an interesting melee/caster hybrid. They would provide back-up healing for the cleric and also provide dps, as well as a nature lore class. I'm not sure how they would make the shape-shifting, though. They would have to put it into dailies as temporary buffs, I think, or make that their 'tab' slot.
- Warlock - More damage than a wizard but less than a sorcerer, specializing in single-target ranged dps and debuffing. Warlocks would probably deal arcane and fire damage, which means you could label it a 'hellfire warlock', since the other classes seem to have a label on them (like 'devoted' cleric or 'guardian' fighter).
- Bard - They could have back-up healing for the DC and compete with crowd control with the CW. In addition they could use melee attacks with a rapier. Not to mention they could have great buffing potential. Not much use in PvP, but PvE they would round out any group. As a class mechanic they could have an 80% chance to use any lore, eliminating their need for lore kit items but not giving them a 100% chance to get anything they want.
- Paladin - Competes with the GF for tanking, but instead of heavy guard/blocking abilities they could have a bit more damage and self-healing, and their 'aura of good' would definitely be an interesting class mechanic/tab slot.
- Psion - Deals physical and arcane damage in a spellcasting form, as well as crowd control and buffing abilities. I'd love to see a psion but it might be stepping too much on the CW's toes.
So many possibilities.

To be honest, while I thoroughly love this game, from my love of DnD 4th edition, for type of game play this game has, and most of all because of The Foundry, I've just been bidding my time until Ranger comes out.
If it's not out before another new shiny game comes out, I expect I'll get distracted in suffering the wait and be enticed by that next game.

There is a logical reason for the above that probably can't be discussed that invalidates your speculation

I expect that I'm also not alone in this.
Just as many could say the same of the Warlock, it being the class they are waiting on.
As such, the declaration of your maybe leaving if you don't get what you want isn't overly moving.

So, people are tentatively expecting it tomorrow, but I'm expecting it to come with Fury in August.
Drakeos Shadowbow - 60 Combat Pathfinder Hunter Ranger (Alt/retired)
Falados - Drow (Mez) Level 60 Trickster Rogue - Offically retired
Drakeos - Drow (Mez) Scourge Warlock/Druid (retired)
No, they never said this.

We have 2 tank types and 2 dps types (3 counting control wizard) so they really need to get another healing line going.

Never happened. Pure, 100% rumor.
I'd love to see a new class added tonight...but there's been no official word that there will be.

The game is inspired by 4th ed. As such, 3.5 quotes aren't necessarily of much relevance.
Wizard, Artificer, and Druid are the 3 I know of.

Generally those in the know of things that can't be discussed don't allude to them.
