I wish they would , but they wont...
take a look at twitter they only worry about gateway issues, zen shop items and things like that, and on the foruns they say nothing, complete silence about gameplay issues, but again if you post about zen stuff or gateway stuff they will give a answer...
The thing that makes or breaks a game is gameplay and i think that didnt realize that yet...
maybe they will stop spending time developing stuff for Zen store when they realize that they lost most of their player base and there is almost noone to buy stuff from zen store...
1 month after "launch" (this cant be called beta lol ) and after hundreds of reports of gamebreaking bugs about several classes, guardian block and several feats, complete bogus threat and lack of utility, gwf completly underpowered, ninja looting everywhere, players kicking others in pvp, players kicking others at the end of a boss fight in a dungeon so they can get all the loot for them, and really several other stuff like that that we can all see at the hundreds of posts in the forum, and they stay in silence, only saying to us that we should read that HAMSTER article "the state of the game"..
For me it may be too late... i am logging way less than i use to a week ago, dont have the will to play my guardian, dont want to reroll a new class, and i WILL NOT spend more money on this game...
they are taking too long to release class fixes and balance updates, they arent adressing the issues that classes have and the silence on the foruns from Devs only makes things worse for me..
I dont think that they really expected the game to be so popular and they are way over their head (hope thats not the case)
im only giving this game 1 or 2 more weeks maximum... and NO you cant have my stuff :P
if things stay the same , im moving on, maybe i will go back to my previous MMO (played WoW for about 6 years but i left it because i was really bored and had enough of that game and hoped that this one would mantain my interess for more than a month, ) or maybe i will wait untill wildstar or the elder scrolls launch...
the thing is that if in 2 weeks max this game stays the same i will unninstall and never look back...
Cant they understand that if the classes are adressed , the gameplay bugs fixed and balanced people will be happy and play the game and spend more money?
and im not living in a dream world, i know that perfect class balance is impossible in any MMO,but hey a month after launch, several fixes and adictions to gateway, several adictions to zen store and ZERO class fixes?
a "SOON" patch that they tell its going to happen doesnt seem enough to me, when we all know what "soon" means...
Sorry for bad english
Coming from the dark corner of the basement that Cryptic calls Champions Online. We poor neglected forgotten souls are actually fairly jealous of the level of communication NW has gotten. I mean you have posts in the dev tracker from this week and not once a month.
The updates on major issues like the AH issues and exploits have been handed pretty well. There has been a clear update from the head honcho himself outlining the near future. The developers actually post on the forums and respond to most hot topics.
You simply arn't going to get daily progress reports. Or updates on every possible problem. Balance and GF fixes might be the top of your list. But for someone else AH search fixes might rate higher. Cryptic is simply not going to come out and explain where all this fits into the schedule. For the simple reason that it is a suckers bet. No matter what they say, someone will be upset, their priority issue wasn't top of the list.
This is the same reason you wont see dates, or even hints of dates offered. One dev makes a statement that they expect big patch in two weeks. That two weeks suddenly becomes an unbreakable promise that causes rage when missed or pushed back.
We are being told enough. They are not obligated to tell us anything. Perhaps im just used to the abuse we get in CO. Perhaps I need to adjust my standards. But I feel the communication level here in NW has been awesome. Now what can we do about getting it over in CO? Please!

Pretty much this, if you ignore the standard snarky comments from the usual suspect and look at the facts you could see that Cryptic communicates quite frequently.
Is Jack Zinc or Andy dropping by every day to chat? Nope, and you won't find any other dev that does that either, but as far as communication goes they are a heck of a lot better than Bioware, Blizzard, Trion or SOE. Do I hope they get even better sure...but just because they aren't addressing my pet issue doesn't mean they are bad communicators.
This is asking for the wrong thing and expecting it to solve the issues.
We need "TRANSPARENCY" and not "lip service on what I feel is a issue subjectively" communication is fantastic, we as players crave it, but communication can be "oh wait for the big surprise" which amuses some and highly irritates others. I'm naturally of the type that would rather they kept their mouths shut if they weren't going to share anything of value and be completely transparent about it, then at least it's a flaw, but a flaw they own.
i want clarification on the issues that are breaking the game, i want to know if we are wasting our time, hell i want to know that they are competent enough to fix things and deliver content fast enough...sorry but thats not what im seeing...
yeah this is free to play, but hey its a game with a cash shop right? If you like spending your money on false premises go ahead and do it...
i wont... its my money.... i know that its their game but its my money...
maybe im spoiled, i come from another MMO that have a working customer service,an active Dev and comunity manager comunication system...
unlike what Stormdrago0n said....really dude go and look at blizzard foruns atleast... i will admit that SWTOR had one of the worst CS that ive seen but they are way better now, and all of those are way better in comunication than what ive seen in this Company...
But let me ask you all:
Do you like to get the end boss of a dungeon to 5%Hp and being kicked because party leader wants the loot to sell on AH? being kicked from pvp because you pointed out that party leader is afk or that he should fight inside the circles and not outside??do you like looking stuff in the AH? because lvl range doesnt work, bid/buyout search doesnt work...one poster called that they fixed AH and handle it pretty well...really? is that anything to brag about? they did their JOB...
Do you like having a class that is worthless in anything they are suposed to do?
Do you think that this game will last long with all these problems?do you feel happy with all of th
i dont, and these are not the only problems with the game, im not even talking about bad boss mechanics(LOL ADDS), i can bypass that...
and no, despite the fact that im in a guild of friends, we are not always online at the same time, we work, have wifes and kids, so if the answer to that is the usual "just find a guild or play with friends" i will counter that a massive online game that is only safe to play with real life friends is a ****ty massive online game..
i dont want to be carried on the Devs lap and i dont want Devs to come here daily...
But 1 month after launch ( yeah LAUNCH) and after all the **** we see on these foruns, twitter etc and nothing is done?
im more than happy to spend money on a game that works and makes me have fun, my problem is that all of those things in a 2013 videogame are sucking the fun out of it...
Every MMO company gets complaints about lack of communication. I'm not sure why anyone expects the standard to change now. There's a reason MMO devs are careful with their words. Its because the community will crucify them with anything they say for the game's entire life cycle. Its an easy trap to fall into because no one person has the whole say over what's going on in development. It's easy to say something and then have it get changed by someone else or some new development.
MMOs are particularly bad because software development moves in cycles. Especially when it comes to balance issues within a complex game system. For someone on a sub par class it affects them daily. But from the flip side, the class has to be investigated and datamined as to why its not performing. Recommendations to fix it need to be submitted, reviewed and tested internally. Then it needs to make it through QA. Then it needs to be rolled out which involves server downtime. Which makes nobody happy.
So it moves in a cycle. Even if they fixed a problem 2 weeks ago, it will get slated into the next major build. Which will roll out all of the changes at once in a QA approved, internally tested package. Otherwise its just making band aid fixes and gluing on new bits every few days and hoping the house of cards you're building doesn't fall over.
I have to admit, not having the correct level range come up in the AH seems like CS 101. Despite your claims to the contrary this game is in beta, it's sort of like a kick starter campaign for a project that has previously received funding. I expect the game to be superb in a year.

Yeah, although that's on the UI team. In fact, most of the major problems with the game are stemming from whomever is in charge of programming the UI... -.-
Your communication on the crashes was a long description of cause and effect,

Yeah it is sad that CO is so neglected, especially when you see the excellent communication in STO, I still have this strong feeling that once Neverwinter is underway we are going to see significant changes to CO.
sorry about the snark level in earlier thread, had something to eat now.
But you do have good communications, it's just everyone expects even more, as someone already posted, on their special interests.
if they are writing your indepth report, they are not doing something else

YA so you and maybe at most 10,000 fanboys will still be playing this game 99 - 95% would of moved on long before then.

My pet peeve with Crytpics performance is based on this. Look at how drastically the GWF changed in a couple weeks from Beta 3 to beta 4. The outrage on the change hit Beta 4 early and we knew as a player base, that the GWF was crippled. I stated in a post long ago that the GWF class reputation was ruined and it will take a major change to the point of overbuffing them to correct it. To get players respecting the class again. That statement is still true now.
Now look how long since beta 4 for cryptic to make another class change. Almost 2 months. Sure they have other issues to deal with and then you can say they need to spend the time to get it "right" but the more time they spend the more players they will lose. Cryptic will be far better off making a quick fix saying "This is a test for the Beta we want to see how these changes to the class will effect the game" They can wave the beta flag and make drastic changes and have class balance bounce all over the place until it settles into something the players are happy with. This would be the ideal situation it will show us players that cryptic is working on the problems even if it is not fixed perfectly on there first change we can still expect other changes until it is.
The way things are right now... We are assuming and hoping they are spending all this time working on a change that will be perfect the first time around. And if the long awaited change is not perfect they will lose players. If there is not change at all they stand to lose even more players.
If we had communication on a regular bassis saying our concerns are being addressed and they are working on ways on improveing those areas of the game first. They would keep more players and players would wait longer for fixes as we have some reassurance. Instead we have little to nothing to go on. I'm losing interest in the game as both my fighter characters get kicked from groups and I can't play end game dungeons. I'm mucking around with cleric and I grow even more disappointed seeing how powerful the cleric is compared to the fighters, when I'm done with the cleric if I don't have my fighters to go back too I'll quit the game too and never look back. And I'm the kind of player that would put a lot of money into cosmetics just so my characters look the way I want them to look. But when my classes are useless why would I do that for a character I can't play.
With all the weekly Zen shop updates and all im getting the impression that their trying to get rich fast before the game is dead. B/c lets fase it, PVE with adds adds and adds who use 2 whole abilities is getting old fast. Pvp where people use 2 abilities to kill someone from full to zero, yea gg.
I agree that having an official presence goes a long way. With that goal, we do our best to respond as often as we can. We're on Facebook, Twitter, and the Forums on a daily basis! I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised with some of the updates we'll be sharing soon - we've got some changes coming that are directly related to feedback we've been receiving from our players. Essentially they'll be an update on the progress on the issues we recently stated we would be addressing in the State of the Game article.
Thanks for your patience! While we do our best to communicate as often and as openly as possible, I definitely understand that more is always better! We'll keep at it!

^ Spot on imho.
If I back a usual kick starter project I pay cash now but may have to wait a year or two before I can play the game. With Neverwinter, I can play the game while it's being developed. I know this means I have to accept bugs etc, but I'd rather that than have to wait another year or so to play it.
Only two things in this life are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the former. ~ Albert Einstein
Changes are definitely coming. We'll reveal more details when we can. Please keep your feedback and suggestions coming because the devs are listening.
Ya when? you can give a date...You can also tell us what the changes are. So far you are just delaying and giving people false hope. But, i guess it is working, because alot of fools buying Zen.
I agree OP, there has been a lot of talk and concern regarding cash shop prices, for example (it's even being mentioned as a big negative in reviews that are popping up) and PWE/Cryptic simply refuse to talk about or even acknowledge it.

Hate to say it, but there is not a saying in the world that tests your patience more that the repetitiveness of that particular line. Especially when you hear it as often as you do with this game. Still there is no real communication on many of the issues that people are complaining about.
Still its "Open Beta" (lol), so there should be no problem in putting out communications that these things are not working as intended and are on the priority lists. Instead, we get communication on NEW COMPANIONS IN THE STORE!!!!
Wow. It's been a whole MONTH! And all you've got is -- well, there's two devs responding in this thread alone. I'm not certain at this point that CO has two devs. At least, the last, oh, six months or so have given little sign of this.
So you'll understand if my sympathies are a little lacking here...

Hey that's 10,000 people spending at least 6 dollars on respecs or higher on something else on the store. 60,000 dollars a month maybe more probably less. Still not bad. That is more then enough to run servers in todays world.

They are already getting a bad rep ..... many out there. like at MMORG.com, already think if you don't pay $200, you have no chance to compete or even enjoy the game and have already written it off as a rip off. and no Ranger/Hunter/Archer? C'mon that's gotta be the most popular occupation for an elf in these games. Are they really going to reserve that for the $200 option?
