guardian fighter exploit ruined the game

Without going into details.. a certain set bonus allows guardians to 1 shot everything in the game.

no, I am not a fanboy from another game

It is sad that this was allowed and not fixed ASAP.. the economy of the game is trashed and I can't think of anything but a server rollback would fix this. I loved playing this game and think that the economy is now trashed .. do a search on the auction house for epic and ancient weapons and you will see what I mean... a few hours ago and NOTHING.. now there are over 450 entries.... go go guardian exploiting!!!!

    trust me, it's true (unless you're being sarcastic, hard to tell).

    There were videos up this afternoon that were removed from youtube pretty quickly. This is a real issue.

    Assumption: it wasn't fixed ASAP. Unless you actually work at Cryptic, you don't know that. Bugs aren't just a "click here to fix" problem. And they have to test that their fix actually worked, after all.
    Suggestion: Thank-you package to include Celestial Coin rewards
    This is an open beta. Start treating it like one.

    a server rollback won't fix anything, but, <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> off 90% of the community.

    all they can do is fix the issue, ban the people abusing it (actually abusing it and not just doing it accidentally, i.e., getting the set and suddenly realizing they can one-shot everything) and removing all their gear/diamonds and what have you.

    GW2 had a very similar issue and had similar complaints and suggestions about needing a rollback, a character wipe, etc. ANet just banned the exploiters, removed all their gear/gold/gems and everything balanced itself out eventually.

    I think to a degree, most people understand that.

    What's ticking everyone off is Cryptic's silence on the issue.

    A simple post telling everyone that at least KNOW about it would go a looooong way.

    server rollback please... the economy is so messed up now its not even funny... the game went from fresh to 1 year old in a matter of hours...all the Ancient weapons on the auction house RUINED the game. Period. ROLLBACK the servers!

    It was sarcasm. There's plenty of class problems that I could go into. The game has srs class issues and I'm unsure how they'll be resolved, but I'm just enjoying the entertainment of birdhat halfling pirate that chinchecks people out of stealth.

    Depending on how the bonus is coded, it might not be that easy.

    yeah but class balancing issues are the norm for MMOs.

    What if the DB entry is linked to other DB entries, and deleting it would outright cause the GF to be unusable? Note: that would imply very bad DB coding, but again, not making assumptions here.

    Wipe the server and fix it, or just quit now. Take the whole game out, its dead.

    it's still available in game to end game players. It's not an exploit, it's another Cryptic **** up.

    seriously makes me want to quit playing.. we went to Dracolich tries with my group to... who cares in a few minutes.... so depressing

    I would play an alt while my GF was out of commission :D

    Either the devs believe that fixing the consequences will take more time & they're waiting until they've a solution for it, or else they don't believe they can fix the consequences without doing further harm. I suppose there could be other possibilities as well, but I think those two pretty much cover it. It could be that they are hoping the consequences will work themselves out as the game matures.

    heres the thing about that...the eco will iron out as the ones exploiting didnt farm 1000 epics each so once the few hundred at most from some and some maybe only a couple are sold used then deleted once new gear content is released later you will never notice. the eco took a blow these last few days but will recover on its own as new players join every day and demand for the gear raises.

    I agree on the second part, but to knowingly use a bug to your advantage, even if the game "permits it", is an exploit...

    Haha, 1 year old? Looks more like 6 years into GW1 with people trading full screens of Armbraces.

    there are now 14 pages of ancient weapons from the Dracolich on the auction house... way to ruin the hardest boss and making all the weapons in the game worthless. So sad. :(

    No one's stopping you from NOT buying from AH. Making sure that GFs you group with don't exploit is a bit harder (well, unless you are a GF)
