I'd like to say that I really love the game so far. It's beautiful and the combat is awesome. However i've always played a Warlock/Necromancer archtype in MMO's and I don't really feel like sinking a lot of time into another class in this game that i'm going to shelf as soon as the Warlock is released.
So I ask, is the Warlock going to be released soon so I can start taking the game and leveling seriously?:(
I think the next race is Drow, and the next class is supposed to be a ranger of some type. but I dont fully know, it just seems like the founder pack class would be a special version of the next class. I'd prefer a ranger, since we already have a mage type but no physical dmg range type. Then again, it boggles my mind why we have two melee classes already.
No official info im afraid. Both ranger and warlock stuff were found in game files.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
Lucky for you PWE was just waiting for someone to ask about the Warlock to release it. As a matter of fact, the more you ask the faster it will be released. Please, continue to check back on this thread, as i'm certain someone will be responding any second now. 10 days into the open beta, and you're asking about a new class.

The best guess on a timeframe is around 60 days from release, possibly coinciding with Drow per an earlier dev comment.
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.

I hope that warlock will have different pacts to choose from, when it's finally released.
Now, I'm not 100% familiar with 4e classes since I have such a seething hatred for how simple d&d 4e is, but what I do remember about the warlock and placing it into this game, it seems that their tab ability might them being able to swtich between pacts and thus switch their skill sets based on the combat, from DPS, to Heals, to control at the flip of a switch. Now THAT would be a fun class. If pacts have to be permanent, then pacts might be their paragon route.

They are permanent. You dont make pact with the devil just to make pact with something else 5 minutes later.

The real question is, how much money they gonna gouge you for it.. At $10 for a bag, I'm guess their price point for a class will be around $50.
You keep posting misinformation. It is obvious that you have an axe to grind with PWE, but please stop takimg it out on people who ask questions or who enjoy the game.
They have already said that all new classes and zones will be free.
I'm also waiting for the Warlock, cant wait! Do we know if it is going to be a full out dps? I didnt play d3d4e so I never know what you guys are talking about when you referance it. Is the Warlock a pet class? Or Just a DoT Stryker type?

I pity your existence.

If this is the case, then my previous statement might be the case with pacts, being a paragon path. Unless they implement some new weird design mechanism where you pick your pact at level 1 and all your powers and feats are different based on what pact you chose. That could still make the Warlock alone a multiple choice class, giving it the capability to be any number of different builds on one class based purely on choice. Again, might be a pretty fun class if this is the route they take.
But then again, if its just a cheesy paragon path route, I dont know, they already have the control wizard. I'd rather see a ranger personally. I miss my bow and arrows.
I'm hoping for Archer ranger first honestly. I play a Ranger/Scout in 3.5 and would love to switch to a ranger here.
Exactly...I loved multiclassing with a druid and ranger. Totally a nature guy in my D&D games.

If I have to take a guess, you will have to wait for more than two months for the scourge warlock.
And something tells me that before that you will see the dual-wielding Ranger :P

No! Bow and arrows please! we need more ranged chars. We have 5 classes, three melee and two ranged...and one of the ranged is a healer. we need more ranged chars.

Really? First I've ever wondered what they will charge or even mentioned new classes.
Honestly, I'm more interested in seeing Bards .......
Man i want a bard, i'm also very curious how they would be implemented here.

Archer Ranger, not dual wielding, that would basically be another rogue. :P Plus, the stuff for Warlock was dropping not long ago before they fixed it, so at a guess i'd say the lock would be first. It was also the class they said they almost had ready for launch, so i'm hoping for it to drop before the next module, in a couple months, but i could be wrong.
I'd love a dual wield ranger (always my fav) or a bard next. still, the bard would probably be a control character and would therefore not mix well with my play style of jump in there and cry for heals. :P
There are many hampsters in the sea. I just hope they can swim.

Not really a ranged rogue. I mean, Rangers are more along the lines of nature boys on a lesser extent than that of druids. They have minor healing abilities, the use bows and arrows as well as dual wielding efficiently, and they do good with outdoor exploration. Rogues are better in dungeons close range combat and they lockpick/disarm traps. And as they always say, 'Rogues do it from behind.' and 'Archers go shaft deep.'
