Me and a few friends are running and running the spellburst mission (we have completely abandoned it and got it again) but right as we are about to complete in at the end Linkletter wont let you talk to him to complete the mission. We can't progress through the story...
Well that din't happen to me but what did happen during was that 2 rooms even though I killed everything was putting me into combat so I couldn't use a lever to open a gate to progress past it. Also my companion and Linkletter kept jumping in the air when they walked on the metal grate in those two rooms. Had to log out then back in to fix it.

ran through mission no problems. That being said, when I was at teh sewer campfire/respawn point, I exited game for a bit and when I logged back on, I had to run through the entire first part again.
So just had the problem and what happens is Linkletter stops following you, seems to happen when you open a chest or use the trader. So when you get to the end of the quest and are asked to talk to him dont worry, dont logout or abandon the quest simply retrace your steps and find him and talk to him where he stopped then go back and open the chest to finish.

Wow, holy necropost, but if anyone in the future is having an issue with this quest or others while playing with a friend, sometimes quest NPCs do bug out and not allow everyone to talk to them. Logging out to the character selection screen and immediately logging back in will often fix this issue.
Best to always let whoever has lead do the talking first when it comes to missions where you need to talk to progress (not finish). Sometimes only one person needs to speak to the NPC and sometimes everyone does.
