New Neverwinter website just fyi

There's a new neverwinter website that went live just this past month looks nicely designed. To clear up the confusion this is not another official site this is a fansite.

    registered there, but it is strangely laggy for me. Maybe its not compatible with my browser ...

    Its fan-made, says so in about.

    I think only fan made site acknowledged till now was the already existing Starbase UGC one.

    I like the color scheme better than the official site, but it is a bit slow for me. I'll stick around here though. There's nothing on that site that I can't get here. :)

    It does look pretty slick, and the media compilation is very nice.

    Since it's not official, there might not be as many devs checking it as they do here (......), but will there be a greater chance of breaking NDA and getting info quicker over there? Who knows...

    Warning: Since this is NOT an official site, yet certainly looks like one and sounds like one (with comments such as "Neverwinter Online is Live") it's advisable to not enter in personal info, or payment info (when the opportunity arises) of any kind.

    Other than that, the site is beautifully rendered...

    Hello everyone =)

    My name is Escavienne and I am the main administrator of neverwinter-online.com. It was actually on my schedule to say 'hello' here on the official forums but I totally forgot about that during the christmas days. I just got told that we've had a slightly push in registrations today and I was curious where they came from.

    At this point I really really need to catch on and would like to introduce our little project. It is indeed a fansite and made by a small group of fans of the Neverwinter Nights series and we went online about two weeks ago. Everyone of us was pretty excited after we heared about an upcoming Neverwinter MMO around last year and somehow we just came up with the idea to build an alternative source with more interaction between users and offer a bit more user generated content like a section for guides or columns that are currently missing here. We had a lot of brainstorming what could be interesting later when the beta is live and when the game is finally released. Some tabs in the menu are still not final but will change later as soon as we can get our hands on more information. You also probably noticed that most of the content is from the official site so far but that will of course change in the future aswell.

    It feels very good to read all that nice feedback here so far. Thanks a lot =) I have to agree that the loading issues are very tedious at the moment but they will hopefully get fixed soon. There is currently not much happening over there as long as we have nothing to write about but you're welcome to register at any time.

    What browser are you guys using? It's loading fine for me on Chrome. Better than this site, actually - for some reason a lot of the images here don't play nice with Chrome.

    FYI I don't have issues with their site on chrome either...

    Do you have problems with missing images here using chrome?

    im wondering if im missing a plugin i should have or something

    looking at his source looks like he copied a lot of his code from another site...that explains the blank Ad boxes...still looks good though

    Hi stormdrag0n!

    The blank Ad boxes are intended and currently serve as simple placeholders. We might need to run a few ads later just to cover the costs for running the site - as long as we won't find a better solution but that shouldn't be necessary in the near future. It is of course not our intention to flood everything with advertisements and we don't want to spoil the user experience by no means.

    I'm not sure what you meant about the code - we did not copy anything from other sites as we had to design and build up everything the way we wanted it to look like =) I have to admit that I was not really into that but I saw the progress day after day it was hand-coded all the time - especially when I dropped in my ideas of how different areas should look like.

    No offense intended it's just the way some of your scripts were laid out and the multiple blank advert boxes...it's usually a sign is all, upon looking closer at your in code notes it's pretty apparent that you guys did hand code it.

    Nice to meet you!

    For Chrome users, the pics don't fully load duye to restrictions set up both from the browser and it adhering to the firewall/security program. Allowing cookies, images and Javascript for this site is a start as well as permitting it through your security program, or images might be "blocked".


    Also, clearing out your cache sometimes helps.

    Ok Nevermind. Its late and I'm tired and it was just bugged out. But why can't I ever edit/remove posts on this forum? Every time I try all I get is a blank page with no text.

    That is very strange! Please file a bug report on this through the Support link up top this site and then in the drop down menu for the Product, choose "Website" which is at the very bottom. Then detail the issue and note if it happens just on this forum or others also in the PWE network. Not all the PWE forums have been upgraded yet to what we have here, so I am sure they would like to know of bugs before they continue updating the rest of the Network.

    Just a reminder folks, never use your same email address, login or password at other sites that you use for your gaming memberships. Google's Gmail offers great emails for free, as many as you like!
