Ok lets look a some of the things happening in pvp atm.
Players asked for them to implement some form of cc immunity - they are now testing a cc deminsh system.
Players asked for removing tenacity from gear to players to level the playfield making it more friendly for all - they did.
Players asked them to fix the crit system - they now made crits do more damage.
Players asked for single queue - they now implement it.
Players asked them to take a look at piercing damage - they made it respect tenacity.
Players asked them to fix dubble dipping in armor penetration- they removed the dubble arpen system + they made it not do more damage on negative armor when arpen was higher then protection it negated.
Players asked for some form of fix for CB - they tuned it down to 5 sec.
Players asked for some form of fix to AA as it absorbed to much damage - they tweeked it so it no longer removes all damage.
They list goes on and for the first time in a very LOOOOONG time they are actually paying attension to pvp in a way we could only hope for during the last couple of years.
Sure a lot of things need to be fixed and balanced, new maps need to increase the variation, brackets for different IL etc etc but saying it will be worse would be downright false imo.
If they continue to listen to the players and actively work on pvp the way they are now I have high hopes that pvp is in for a much brighter future then since like mod 1-4.

What's so freaking dumb is the players who can spam cb will be able to cast It every 5 seconds.... so you will still be permanently cc.... lowering duration was not the way to go.. but apparently devs don't play the game so much..

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!
CC is supposed to be a part of this game. Period. Giving everyone a flat immunity is counter intuitive. The problem falls on where players have access to immunity items to counter the cc spam. Trans Elven battle? Hidden behind a ton of AD/content that a casual gamer has no immediate access to. By the time they get it (if ever) there is a good chance they have either moved on to another game or just don't care about PvP anymore. Token of free movement? Doesn't last long enough for the sacrifice of the active artifact slot.
There should be checks and balances here. If you are able to perm cc someone by yourself, the rest of you should be a wet noodle. On the other hand, two controllers should not have a problem doing so. And the more immunity you have to it, the more you should have to sacrifice as well.
So, a lot of the newer gear coming out has conditional stats on them (+power for each enemy near you, +move if hit for so much dmg, etc.), why not make some with cc immunity. This way you are not flat out giving everyone this benefit, and you have to maybe sacrifice a leet piece of equipment (or more) if you want the immunity.

Yeh but they buffed some classes... made pvp worse than it was before. Stunner / cc spam tr's couldn't do damage before mod 12... now they not only can perma cc you but also kill you in within x second lmao.. how is that not a fail ? Piercing respect tenacity ??? perhaps the tr's dunk but not hr's piercing blade with freaking 20k+ crit and when its buffed by dc or gf then you die instantly no matter what class you are. Sh*t is more broken than ever before... cryptic has no idea what he's doing lol

If you die to a Hr in seconds after 50% piercing nerf you are either on low hp or inferior geared period.
Tr perma cc SOD and smoke is the most written toptic atm for the simple reason its the most broken thing in todays pvp together with Trs broken survivability toward other classes, well its broken even if not compared to other classes as well.
You forget to mention that all other changes is basicly on players demand and that the devs are making a lot of changes in pvp, hence putting in hours of work to change it to the better.
Working on changes at the player base behalf and request and implenting them on a bases not seen before and all you do is cry about the things that are still not working makes you less then productive and just a whining no good for anything poster.
If you have some suggestion how to change things or act to show how things are broken feel free to post those, crying about things you do not like and whining in general is not going to make things better that is for sure....

My sw is maxed - Soulbinder tank build - 230k hp, 45% tenacity, 36% deflect and 20% DR. Before mod 12 i was tanky, weak dps tho but now squishy with weak dps. I can choose to go with high dps but than i'll be 1 hit kill even with 45% tenacity. As i said before. Devs made pvp worse...and it will get worse in the future why? because cryptic is good at breaking things... and keep it broken forever !

Ah you are a SW well that is the second most written about topic after Tr and also thee most written about class when it comes to neededing a buff in pve.
SW need some love and will get it if you look at the history of many other classes. Question is more about when then if.
I do symphasthize with you but with all repsect the changes is not made toward any class and some will suffer and and some with take advantage of these changes. They are made with regards to make pvp more popular overall.
Class tweking of certain build/powers is another matter and YES Sw will need some hugs and loving when it comes to that...

Anyone complaining about the CC nerfs is either a player of a class that focused their build entirely around CC (oppressor wizards, trapper HRs, courage break TRs etc.) or has never faced an entire team filled with CC build characters. All of these changes were prompted by player suggestions. Also pretty much every MMO (WoW, Guild Wars, FFO etc.) out there has some kind of CC dr or CC spam prevention in place to keep PvP balanced. Instead of crying about how the sky is falling and yelling at the developers, try to look at it from their perspective. They have limited time and resources to implement changes that players want, and they are doing it in the way that is possible for them to meet their deadlines. I would rather see a slightly imbalanced CC change then to have PvP continue in the state that it currently is on live. It's not very fun or fair when you can't even control your own character because of broken game mechanics.

While I agree with 15 seconds is too long . Anyone that can do simple timing can lock you down with a opp cw or trapper hr until someone kills you or they die of boredom .

your example assumes only a 2 v 1 ..not a 1 v 1
this also does not apply to classes that are low gear score/ alts that use CC defensively now does it ? any body that is using Cc defensively is screwed with the 15 second timer 1v 1 or especially if it a 2 v1 they arrive to and thier opponent is already cc immune apon thier arrival
this co-ordination assumes a premade or that some one is using a mike/ not spaming power .. not a pug trying to use this power and they failed or screw up someone else combo .../ or inadvertently make them immune for someone else who would be more effective at taking the opponent out

if anyone dies to a / in a 6 second lockdown window clearly something else is wrong with their build and in this case the oppresor has to rely on some one else not to die and to kill (makin it a dead / poor pvp build choice amongst other cc classes ) ...cause in the 15 second immunity frame that follows the opponent will annihilate them .
.or encorage people/classes to fight off node (cowardly in balconies etc) which does not work well with the current cap rules of everyone having to rush to hold a node... subsequntly getting these classes kicked from matches as well
they cant hurt thier opponant nor do enough life steal with damage to make up for the hits either nor keep them at bay nor stay on a node to contest it without taking massive damage basically an oppressor cw in pvp is like a sw warlock in pvp ..and to some extend Hr trapper/ DPS Cleric and associated tree ..they all will suffer from the same weaknesses i listed in mod12b if cc changes remain the same
some class with changes will have no damage /little life steal / no healing / no damage and no/little control ...basically that completely relies on thier team / health of the match to determine thier success
only classes and tree combos with extreme burst / glass cannon will be favoured for pug/ solo matches .. trickling down to a very few specialtie cc ones that are left over in full premade matches
or some kammazaze builds as well that will not have positive kill to death ratios ...
also tho certain weaker / lower items level players / classes can build more easily/effectively for cc then for dps tho .. certain powers have almost the same duration / effect regardless of player item level and tho are more favoured if you are weaker.. by nerfing cc (and not even letting a player use 1 combo reliably ) players cannot utilise these default powers as well and then simply get out dpsed by certain classes ..overwhelmed and cant counter or even fight defensively ..
conversely certain classes knowing of this mechanic can more easily abuse it /stratregise as well by deliberately building up useless cc stacks from harmless powers from another opponent/ or even a guildy on the other team (who inadvertently/deliberately buffs his cc ) . before he engages you fully cc immune
if you are a new pvp player and your pve build cc powers are failing to land much and you dont understand why .. .. might you also throw your hands up and say this is BS too ? would you not feel penalised as well
i know as a new player in pvp i wanted to try all my powers and combos and see how they worked/related to each other to learn.. having them (cc powers )fail most of the time on new players is not good for the learning curve either ..nor is making certain paragons and path useless either especially when we just equalised gear tenacity levels ..should not all path be equal /viable as well why would someone want to dabble in pvp if thier powers of choice are useless then especially new player lacking power points/ resources to respect ..or pour thru the forums for non gimped builds when they just want to play casually ..

Lol I said either SOMEONE (2v1) kills you or they DIE of BOREDOM (1v1) . I said I agreed that 15 seconds is to long cc immunity. Think a 5 to 6 second immunity would be more appropriate time frame. If someone screws up your rotation in a premade group with their cc then someone isn't communicating and not coordinating with the group. CC coordination is unnecessary in NW right now you can cc someone with your whole team and there is no penalty or negative effect to it . This besides class imbalance, powercreep , and cc ability cds make NW a no skill pvp game . There is no need to time your cc since if they dodge it you got several other cc abilities to catch them with and by the time that ends the ability you miss them with is off cd already . And before someone comes in and says they are skilled players , I am not saying anyone is or isn't a skilled player . What I am saying is it doesn't take skill to spam cc and keep someone incapacitated till you or teammates kills them. Its like watching a boxing match with one of the guys bound and gagged while the other guy beats on him.
Most classes only have 2 viable paths in pvp if they are lucky . CW and HR are lucky and have had 2 for over a year . GF is suppose a control class as well don't see whole lot of them . GWF do they have more than 1 path ? SW see alot of temps around or SW's in general ? Paladin see alot of healadin or tanks ? Tr's only see sb cb sod spammers nowadays . DC 's have a heal and buff/debuff dps . HR has combat and trapper . CW actually has it all they can go all 3 paragon paths and be viable dps , control , and buff/debuffs . CW and HR have no room to complain about path viability when majority of other classes are regulated to 1 role .
I let myself get side tracked with your post that brings up more issues with the game than cc and its affect on gameplay. Do I think a cc dr system that is reasonable with immunity lengths will help , absolutely. Do I think it will fix pvp and make it a more enjoyable experience , no I do not . Like any problem you have to start somewhere to be begin to fix it , cc dr is a good place start . Hopefully they can iron out cc and move on to the next issue of the problem with pvp .
I would hope most ppl that are posting here would agree that if all, or at least most, of the paths available to all classes were all viable, the game would be a better experience. Don't fool yourself into thinking that will ever be achievable per class, per path, with access to all items in the game for every single toon.

Pretty sure everyone would agree that would make the game more enjoyable. I have never played a mmo of this type that could balance multiple paths per class . There was always unviable path/paragon in every game . PVE balance was to blame for most of it . Hard to balance both PVE and PVP .
I don't think it is so hard, everyone just wants to whack each other with BiS gear. Some class paths could have mounts available, others wouldn't. Some could even be allowed companions if that would help them be more viable. Access to some enchants/enhancements only to certain class paths, etc, etc. Naked PvP to me means you are stripped of all your gear when you join and then pick from lists according to your class and path. Nothing about this interferes with PvE. It also solves cc problems, too much self healing, spamming any ability, on and on.....
Anyway, I am just glad changes are taking place at all. Gives me a bit of hope that something resembling balance might find its way into PvP.
Let's all be honest here. The issue with cc isn't so much with the two classes -- trappers and oppressors -- that rely on it (to the exclusion of the ability to kill anyone but the undergeared, I might add); the issue is with classes that cc you and then one-rotate, or nearly one-rotate, kill you. Classes that use cc in a support capacity (i.e. to pin people down so that dps classes can dispense with them) are playing the role they ought to be playing, just as tanks who are nigh impossible to take down, DCs who keep their teammates on their feet, or GWFs who deal heavy damage, are playing their role.
As a trapper, I can say that it is very difficult to even fulfill this role given the extent to which other classes have the capacity to resist cc, be it through class-specific powers or gear. My cc, for example, is severely limited -- and in some cases all but useless -- against TRs, GFs, OPs and GWFs based on class abilities alone. For oppressors, it is only those BIS players who, by stacking recovery at the expense of almost everything else, are able to spam repel and annoy the hell out of their opponents. Neither of these cases are examples if class imbalance (and I'd say trappers definitely in no way so) as neither is really able to inflict meaningful damage on geared opponents without sacrificing their cc.
This isn't the case with the dominant GF builds, and to a lesser extent, TRs, who are able to control you, resist your control attempts and kill you in short order. This is the unbalanced part and, annoyingly enough, the part that will not really get addressed by the changes that are in store for 12b.
I'll end by saying that I am of the mind that those who think that the (selective) waving of the nerf wand against cc will bring about balance in pvp are bound to be sorely disappointed.
Yeah GF and dps OP are both overtuned abit . GF does alot of damage in a very short amount of time , but the prone/stun combination in there rotation is what is so deadly. At least GF rotation can be dodge and is on a cd . Dps OP are a AP gain daily spam issue. If Divine judgement didn't from benefit sacred weapon dps OP 's wouldn't 1 shot people . OP is the bigger problem since their burst is almost on demand and they are a melee/tanky class killing at range . At least GF has to be in melee range to do their burst . The problem like everything else in this game is if you tone down the damage just slightly too much they pretty much won't kill anyone.

So I'm back after a few months off. HR trapper, not fuming mad, only slightly annoyed. I would want to test before switching build, as my trapper is neatly built with highest power/arp possible to make those little DOTs sting hard. I dont stack cc str or add to my cc ability in any way. Just getting the basics from the feats and crushing roots.
Maybe I will remove crushing if that causes some sort of double proc. Maybe it will just be useless regardless and I go for aspect of pack? IDK. I digress...
The real question of my post: does the cc immunity cut off my DOTs from thorned roots? If so that is not cool. So not cool. Like wtf, take cc away okay, fine. Like a vasectomy, go ahead and snip them. But if you are also taking my damage, then just cut off my whole genitals. I digress again...
If above question's answer is yes, there should totally be a work around to keep the damage or DOTs flowing.

Players asked for them to implement some form of cc immunity - they are now testing a cc deminsh system.
Players asked for removing tenacity from gear to players to level the playfield making it more friendly for all - they did.
Players asked them to fix the crit system - they now made crits do more damage.
Players asked for single queue - they now implement it.
Players asked them to take a look at piercing damage - they made it respect tenacity.
Players asked them to fix dubble dipping in armor penetration- they removed the dubble arpen system + they made it not do more damage on negative armor when arpen was higher then protection it negated.
Players asked for some form of fix for CB - they tuned it down to 5 sec.
Players asked for some form of fix to AA as it absorbed to much damage - they tweeked it so it no longer removes all damage.
They list goes on and for the first time in a very LOOOOONG time they are actually paying attension to pvp in a way we could only hope for during the last couple of years.
Sure a lot of things need to be fixed and balanced, new maps need to increase the variation, brackets for different IL etc etc but saying it will be worse would be downright false imo.
If they continue to listen to the players and actively work on pvp the way they are now I have high hopes that pvp is in for a much brighter future then since like mod 1-4.

What's so freaking dumb is the players who can spam cb will be able to cast It every 5 seconds.... so you will still be permanently cc.... lowering duration was not the way to go.. but apparently devs don't play the game so much..
There should be checks and balances here. If you are able to perm cc someone by yourself, the rest of you should be a wet noodle. On the other hand, two controllers should not have a problem doing so. And the more immunity you have to it, the more you should have to sacrifice as well.
So, a lot of the newer gear coming out has conditional stats on them (+power for each enemy near you, +move if hit for so much dmg, etc.), why not make some with cc immunity. This way you are not flat out giving everyone this benefit, and you have to maybe sacrifice a leet piece of equipment (or more) if you want the immunity.
Stunner / cc spam tr's couldn't do damage before mod 12... now they not only can perma cc you but also kill you in within x second lmao.. how is that not a fail ?
Piercing respect tenacity ??? perhaps the tr's dunk but not hr's piercing blade with freaking 20k+ crit and when its buffed by dc or gf then you die instantly no matter what class you are. Sh*t is more broken than ever before... cryptic has no idea what he's doing lol

Tr perma cc SOD and smoke is the most written toptic atm for the simple reason its the most broken thing in todays pvp together with Trs broken survivability toward other classes, well its broken even if not compared to other classes as well.
You forget to mention that all other changes is basicly on players demand and that the devs are making a lot of changes in pvp, hence putting in hours of work to change it to the better.
Working on changes at the player base behalf and request and implenting them on a bases not seen before and all you do is cry about the things that are still not working makes you less then productive and just a whining no good for anything poster.
If you have some suggestion how to change things or act to show how things are broken feel free to post those, crying about things you do not like and whining in general is not going to make things better that is for sure....

SW need some love and will get it if you look at the history of many other classes. Question is more about when then if.
I do symphasthize with you but with all repsect the changes is not made toward any class and some will suffer and and some with take advantage of these changes. They are made with regards to make pvp more popular overall.
Class tweking of certain build/powers is another matter and YES Sw will need some hugs and loving when it comes to that...

Anyone complaining about the CC nerfs is either a player of a class that focused their build entirely around CC (oppressor wizards, trapper HRs, courage break TRs etc.) or has never faced an entire team filled with CC build characters. All of these changes were prompted by player suggestions. Also pretty much every MMO (WoW, Guild Wars, FFO etc.) out there has some kind of CC dr or CC spam prevention in place to keep PvP balanced. Instead of crying about how the sky is falling and yelling at the developers, try to look at it from their perspective. They have limited time and resources to implement changes that players want, and they are doing it in the way that is possible for them to meet their deadlines. I would rather see a slightly imbalanced CC change then to have PvP continue in the state that it currently is on live. It's not very fun or fair when you can't even control your own character because of broken game mechanics.
While I agree with 15 seconds is too long . Anyone that can do simple timing can lock you down with a opp cw or trapper hr until someone kills you or they die of boredom .
this also does not apply to classes that are low gear score/ alts that use CC defensively now does it ?
any body that is using Cc defensively is screwed with the 15 second timer 1v 1 or especially if it a 2 v1 they arrive to and thier opponent is already cc immune apon thier arrival
this co-ordination assumes a premade or that some one is using a mike/ not spaming power .. not a pug trying to use this power and they failed or screw up someone else combo .../ or inadvertently make them immune for someone else who would be more effective at taking the opponent out

What players asked for cc imm unity after so many casts? I didnt.. my guild didnt... my friends didn't
I would like to see a twitter poll about this. Twitter or Facebook since that's where they say most of their real response is.
Lol I said either SOMEONE (2v1) kills you or they DIE of BOREDOM (1v1) . I said I agreed that 15 seconds is to long cc immunity. Think a 5 to 6 second immunity would be more appropriate time frame. If someone screws up your rotation in a premade group with their cc then someone isn't communicating and not coordinating with the group. CC coordination is unnecessary in NW right now you can cc someone with your whole team and there is no penalty or negative effect to it . This besides class imbalance, powercreep , and cc ability cds make NW a no skill pvp game . There is no need to time your cc since if they dodge it you got several other cc abilities to catch them with and by the time that ends the ability you miss them with is off cd already . And before someone comes in and says they are skilled players , I am not saying anyone is or isn't a skilled player . What I am saying is it doesn't take skill to spam cc and keep someone incapacitated till you or teammates kills them. Its like watching a boxing match with one of the guys bound and gagged while the other guy beats on him.
Most classes only have 2 viable paths in pvp if they are lucky . CW and HR are lucky and have had 2 for over a year . GF is suppose a control class as well don't see whole lot of them . GWF do they have more than 1 path ? SW see alot of temps around or SW's in general ? Paladin see alot of healadin or tanks ? Tr's only see sb cb sod spammers nowadays . DC 's have a heal and buff/debuff dps . HR has combat and trapper . CW actually has it all they can go all 3 paragon paths and be viable dps , control , and buff/debuffs . CW and HR have no room to complain about path viability when majority of other classes are regulated to 1 role .
I let myself get side tracked with your post that brings up more issues with the game than cc and its affect on gameplay. Do I think a cc dr system that is reasonable with immunity lengths will help , absolutely. Do I think it will fix pvp and make it a more enjoyable experience , no I do not . Like any problem you have to start somewhere to be begin to fix it , cc dr is a good place start . Hopefully they can iron out cc and move on to the next issue of the problem with pvp .
Anyway, I am just glad changes are taking place at all. Gives me a bit of hope that something resembling balance might find its way into PvP.
As a trapper, I can say that it is very difficult to even fulfill this role given the extent to which other classes have the capacity to resist cc, be it through class-specific powers or gear. My cc, for example, is severely limited -- and in some cases all but useless -- against TRs, GFs, OPs and GWFs based on class abilities alone. For oppressors, it is only those BIS players who, by stacking recovery at the expense of almost everything else, are able to spam repel and annoy the hell out of their opponents. Neither of these cases are examples if class imbalance (and I'd say trappers definitely in no way so) as neither is really able to inflict meaningful damage on geared opponents without sacrificing their cc.
This isn't the case with the dominant GF builds, and to a lesser extent, TRs, who are able to control you, resist your control attempts and kill you in short order. This is the unbalanced part and, annoyingly enough, the part that will not really get addressed by the changes that are in store for 12b.
I'll end by saying that I am of the mind that those who think that the (selective) waving of the nerf wand against cc will bring about balance in pvp are bound to be sorely disappointed.
Yeah GF and dps OP are both overtuned abit . GF does alot of damage in a very short amount of time , but the prone/stun combination in there rotation is what is so deadly. At least GF rotation can be dodge and is on a cd . Dps OP are a AP gain daily spam issue. If Divine judgement didn't from benefit sacred weapon dps OP 's wouldn't 1 shot people . OP is the bigger problem since their burst is almost on demand and they are a melee/tanky class killing at range . At least GF has to be in melee range to do their burst . The problem like everything else in this game is if you tone down the damage just slightly too much they pretty much won't kill anyone.
Maybe I will remove crushing if that causes some sort of double proc. Maybe it will just be useless regardless and I go for aspect of pack? IDK. I digress...
The real question of my post: does the cc immunity cut off my DOTs from thorned roots? If so that is not cool. So not cool. Like wtf, take cc away okay, fine. Like a vasectomy, go ahead and snip them. But if you are also taking my damage, then just cut off my whole genitals. I digress again...
If above question's answer is yes, there should totally be a work around to keep the damage or DOTs flowing.
