Loadouts is a great new addition to the game, something we've asked for for quite a while. If I could make one small suggestion that would be a safeguard against accidental unnecessary respecs. When using the "manage loadout" UI there is the option to "replace loadout". Firstly, I'm not sure why this button exists (why someone would want two of the exact same specs) unless it is to manage gear with loadouts and not spec (this is sort of a waste imho but perhaps some people would prefer it).
This button presents a high likelihood that someone will click it instead of the "make current" button thereby replacing their other loadout rather than changing to a different spec which will cost them time, and potentially money/zen in order to recover their lost loadout.
I would suggest either 1) Doing away with this button and making a "change gear only" button or 2) Giving a warning similar to discarding items so that people know what is about to happen and don't misclick.
Thanks for your time.

May I ask what the intention was of adding a duplicate loadouts as well?
It's there as a fast copy for anyone who wants to use a loadout for just a gear/power swap, as you postulated. Not that likely to appeal to anyone deeply into theorycraft, but a shortcut for anyone just into using them as a convenience feature.
I do see the application for something like putting on and immediately taking off your Everfrost gear though, for anyone who doesn't use it outside of meeting queue requirements. More my idea of how to create many loadouts with really micromanage-y granular uses, as opposed to distinct core functional ones.

I think, in this case, the UI could be improved quite a bit in a manner that separates this button to it's own separate UI rather than being not only on the same page, but the same line as the button that allows you to switch to your other loadout. I think a "gear" switching usage of the loadout should have a separate feature UI tab/page which will minimize mistakes and make it more clear what the use is.
Thanks for your reply.

Thank you for the feedback. Odd that it didn't show up for you. If it does so again please let me know and if possible be very specific about how you got there.
Like @beckylunatic said this is there for cases where players don't want to reselect their powers, ability scores, boons and feats just to have a gear/power tray swap.
To quickly switch loadouts the drop down menu is best. The manage loadouts window is where players can name/rename their loadouts, use the replace loadout option and buy new loadouts.
I'm still confused (and afraid to hit this button). Does using this to copy my "original" loadout to "new 1" (which I haven't done anything with yet) assign all powers and feats such that I would have to use a retraining token to change them?
As a side note, I have multiple loadouts on my DC and they have been coming "undone". In other words I change instance and I have to refeat and power them. The boons stay but all feats and powers are lost. Perhaps it's just a DC thing. This has happened to both me and another guildmate DC multiple times. Perhaps this is also why the loadouts warning you were talking about didn't appear. @midnightlight#2361

Is this what you were referring to?
