Well in my characters bio she is a gold elf. and another says common is censored as well. I think there might be something buggy going on.

I think the "gold" is probably censored due to all the gold spammers. I'm not sure why "common" would be censored. I turn off the profanity filter on PC.

Well they should not censor it in bio, since my character is a gold elf lol yeah and common is basically the name of English in the setting. So yeah this does need to be fixed for lore reasons. Maybe censor it in zone chat but not in bio editor. It might just be a glitch of some sort. No need to censor a commonly used word for non gold spammer purposes like gold coins or golden thrones or gold elves. or the word Common which is basically known as English in the setting.
Also they seem to censor the Com in the word Company wtf lol. I can see them trying to combat them by censoring these words but yeah, it won't work I think. and they should not censor them in the bio where rpers right there bios. How do you basically lol say you run an adventuring company or wear a golden necklace. Point is only solution is changing the currency in the game to the gold, silver and copper system for ah and use astrodimands as zen and astro store currency instead of the main game currency for ah. This would kill the problem of the goldspammers. By doing this they can make keys not bound to account again and have the same system set up like sto does which does not have many gold spammers at all.
I had to rewrite sentences that contained the words "community" and "companion" in my history. It didn't affect the entire word just the "com" was changed to various other characters. I also tried typing in random words beginning with "com" to confirm that this was indeed the issue. I also have the profanity filter disabled, the words beginning with "com" are still affected. I suspect it is to address the .com associated with various spam sites?

What exactly is a "gold elf" anyway? I've heard of Sun Elves, but never heard of "gold elves" in a D&D setting. Didn't think that was a race.

In the Realms, Gold Elf is a Sun Elf, they are one and the same. Almost all Forgotten Realms source materials on elves relays this that they are referred to as either Sun Elf, Gold Elf, or Ar-Tel-Quessir. Gold Elf is usually what non-elves call Sun Elves. Elves will almost always refer to Sun Elves as Sun Elves, or Ar-Tel-Quessir. The latter of which translates to Sun Elf in native elven (Espruar/Hamarfae/Seldruin).
@zebular , are you *sure* you're not Gygax, pulling a Jim Morrison?
I've just been DMing the Realms since '93. I have almost all the pre-3rd source material ever made on the Realms, and then some. I read almost everything authored by Ed Greenwood on the Realms as well.
Back to the filter. In my humble opinion, it is getting absolutely ridiculous on what words are getting filtered in the game. It's now gotten to the point that we cannot even pen substantial lore in game without being filtered. A client-side filter, one that the player can set up and control on our own, needs to be implemented and this Cryptic/PWE side filter needs to go away.
yep last night someoone from other guild in my alliance started the new event by accident, and i was trying to call my guild mates to stronghold to help me, after the event ended i had to apologize to everyone because i copy/paste the phrase
"come to stonghold, we need all that we can muster really fast come !!
and it looked like i was complaining a lot XD
really weird to censure the com word, btw they could just send a warning in advance ...
Hi everyone! We hear you on the filters and are looking into different options to accommodate player needs and continue maintaining some oversight over language/word usage.

Pretty much you can't even say complete or anything with the letters com in them. You can't even use them in reporting even, pretty much need to change this. Its not going to do much anyways. Only way to truely get rid of them is switch the ah currency over to the gold/silver and copper currency. This would drive them away I think.
I just was trying to send a help ticket about how I couldn't complete a quest, and it kept saying I couldn't send the ticket because it contained profanity!
After lots of hair-pulling I realized it's because it had the word "complete" in it!!
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of!
So I just sent them another help ticket about how I can't "cumplete" a help ticket... and that tongue-in-cheek message was allowed to go through! Maybe that'll make the point.
I say charge for accounts, and put some BoA stuff in there to soften the blow. Then, FTP.
Well thats one way to limit the gold spammers spamming abilty. At least having to at least bought from the zen store at least once. Maybe at least 100 zen worth or five hundred zen worth. Thats one way they could maybe downplay them. but yeah it won't stop them I think having the same currency that also goes towards zen that is the main trading currency basically makes it a botters paradise there does need to be separate currencies. Plus its more likely lorewise people buying things with Gold/Silver or Coppers then astro diamonds. Basically it would be a big change and I think a lot would be upset with it but on the other hand I do think its needed to truly get rid of the bot spam.

Any change to which currency is of primary importance would just shift seller focus, not get rid of them.
That's why they are called "goldsellers"... because of their role in other games where the primary currency is called gold.

Most of us don't have an alternative named "Gold.com CheapAD" anyway.
I am Took.
"Full plate and packing steel" in NW since 2013.
This needs to be addressed and changed ASAP.
