Seriously since gateway was turned off there have been no decent companion gear, even the new life lock box legendary companion pack gave top companion gear, why has that adorable gear not been added to the glorious resurgence epic companion pack??frankly it should be easier to get than the legendary reward from a lockbox!
And as for the new illusionist skirmish seriously companion gear with only one slot and an over load slot what idiot thought that was a good idea ,its useless for a bonding companion and useless for an augment.
And as for stronghold HE drops the companion gear from those is a joke compared to what was dropping from gateway and what was avaliable from new life legendary companion pack....adorable bites ring now 7.5 million AD on AH what a joke!

Sign for that "great" idea to put an overload slot in companion rings...thats another proofe devs dont play this game properly...

Yeah, when I saw that the new +5 companion gear had an overload slot, I immediately just stopped doing the new skirmish. Insanely bad idea. Unless the revamped epic spellplague drops the straight 2 offence slot version.
No idea what my toon is now.

The least they can do is unbind the loyal gear so that it works like the Underdark rings, always bta. All of my alts will be stuck with this 2nd rate skirmish gear.

With the way things go, they would unbind it and then it would stop working on the companions altogether.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

I've asked for a RETURN to LOYAL companion gear despite it indicating it's only 140 and the new +4 companion gear is 142. Still the LOYAL gear is and will likely remain BiS for some time, and they seem resistant to providing an alternative way to earn it... But the +4 gear is when you can earn it a close second. :)

It be NICE if professions could craft some companion GEAR... but having said that there is always the Gemmed Personalized Option which while they are limited to 135 Neck, Ring or Waist Pieces they do have two enchantment slots with One Offense & Defense that companions can indeed wear like most lower level gear score items.

    For Example:
Personalized Adamant Necklace of Piercing: +433 Power +433 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment.
Personalized Adamant Ring of Piercing +394 Power +394 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment
Personalized Adamant Belt of Piercing +394 Power +394 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment

Now while I did THINK I had seen one +5 Companion Ring from the New Skirmish... I admit perhaps that was more me being entirely hopefull? :)

new skirmish is fun.. once or twice.. then you relize how quickly annoying they gated new comp gear..

they have a voting stage.. gawd. wasted time
they allow it to be pug wtih no i level entry.. gawd.. waste of time.. it could be soloble.. as long as you dont get the random reflect stage.. omg.. then you relize no amount of life steal compensates for the damage taken and if you dont have some dcs around.. bam.
they then drop GREEN junk gear 50% of the time.. and almost no +4 gear at all..

THEY need to revamp that skirm..

Who was the moron around that terrible design.

NO player said.. he lets stop and wait 3 extra minutes for no reason.. while some dufas in the corner refuses to vote.. (like every pug group.. at least one person drops, or refuses to vote.. wtf)

^ Pretty much this, I have never used an Overload enchant on a companion, not even the free one we got for some reason, so how can anyone think it is a great idea to put that in the (supposedly) best version of the new companion-gear?

What makes it even worse is that many, many console players was really hoping to finally get some good companion-gear that doesn't cost a fortune, and I don't think PS4 even has the Adorable gear, so they are really left in the cold...

I hope a developer reads this, and makes some changes, because the Overload slots on +5 Companion-gear is a terrible mistake...

Confirmed Fierce Companion +4 has two offense slots I think Bold Companion +4 may have as well but I do know one of them does which is VERY VERY nice. Especially since they have two OFFENSE slots. :)

The drop rate on the +4 companion gear is bad.... not only is it bad but like underdark you could end up with a +4 that is not good because there are quite a few to random into.... They just need to give us a non-rng (seal vendors) way to get these items... seriously the RNG in this game is no fun....

Well that sounds great, it would be nice if anyone could put together some solid pics/info on these and add them to the wiki.

Since they don't exist in the "collection" it's really hard to get a clear picture of what stats/slots they have in the end...

    I found a list on reddit : https://reddit.com/r/Neverwinter/comments/5oh91t/psa_about_the_new_companion_gear_in_mod_11/

It is pretty incomplete but it at least lists the offensive stats available. EDIT : even these were partially wrong

The best options seem to be :
    - Heroic +4 : 541 Power, 361 Crit ArPen, 2 offense slots
    - Fierce +4 : 541 Crit, 361 Power, 2 offense slots
    - Bold +4 : 541 ArPen, 361 Crit, 2 offense slots

If you really only care about your offensive stats, this can be slightly better than loyal gear thanx to the extra offense slot but the overall stats given by the items will be a lot lower.

Loyal gear definitely needs to be brought back for real. Adding them as craftable items would give crafting a much needed boost.

There's a category for companion gear on the wiki (neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Category:Companion_Only) but it lacks the adorable items from the new life lockbox and the new gambit items.

I would also appreciate to see them added to the collection window.

Adding the Loyal Gear as Masterwork Crafting might fix this issue while also fixing the issue of Masterwork now being rightly undervalued.

While I admit I have in the past asked for a RETURN to LOYAL companion gear. The new +4 companion gear is 142 and comes a very close second to being BiS for a raw BUFF but as it can have two OFFENSE slots many may actually prefer it.

Still it be NICE if professions could craft some companion GEAR... but having said they can at least in part today! There is always the Gemmed Personalized Option which while they are limited to 135 Neck, Ring or Waist Pieces they do have two enchantment slots with One Offense & Defense that companions can indeed wear like most items with the exception of Artifact Gear.

    For Example:
135 Personalized Adamant Necklace of Piercing: +433 Power +433 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment.
135 Personalized Adamant Ring of Piercing +394 Power +394 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment
135 Personalized Adamant Belt of Piercing +394 Power +394 Armor Pen +OFFENSE +DEFENSE Enchantment

I just wish our Weaponsmith or Artificers could Craft a 135 Equivalent for Talisman, Swordknot, etc.. with close to or almost similar BUFF's to the new +4 companions gear that can drop even if bound to character so each had to make some effort to earn them. Similar to what is required for Personalized gear mentioned above. o:)<3

If Jewelcrafting, Weaponsmithing & Artificing built on this model to add a 140 item usable by Characters & Companions.

    2nd Example:
    140 Engraved (another name for Personalized) Necklace +500 Buff #1 / +375 Buff #2 +OFFENCE +DEFENSE Enchantment
    140 Engraved Ring +500 Buff #1 / +375 Buff #2 +OFFENCE +DEFENSE Enchantment
    140 Engraved Belt +500 Buff #1 / +375 Buff #2 +OFFENCE +DEFENSE Enchantment
    140 Engraved Talisman +500 Buff #1 / +375 Buff #2 +OFFENCE +DEFENSE Enchantment
    140 Engraved Swordknot +500 Buff #1 / +375 Buff #2 +OFFENCE +DEFENSE Enchantment
    140 Engraved etc...

I'd have to say if they did something like this and allowed them to be used by the Characters or Companions who crafted them I'd be happy and give a chance to give a slight chance at EPIC (95%) perhaps Legendary (5%) with all Mithral tools being utilized for crafting. At least then people getting rewarded did the work and had some resources invested in CRAFTING those items. When Gateway was created it was designed to Reward People who used their companions to earn the rewards this would reward those who advanced professions and had the tools.

It certainly wouldn't discount those you could earn in game that are +4 Companion Gear but you also not discount the Engraved items either.

As for Masterwork Crafting as some have suggested.

I'd rather like to see the 140 Engraved items (suggested immediately above) be available to everyone with Rank 25 in a profession and higher quality tools used to guide if they are Rare, EPIC or even Legendary as the KEY requirement for completing most items.

As a Professional should be able to do many things on their own, but it is true more desirable or varied options would likely exist, if they support or are supported by a larger organization such as a Guild.

    For Example:
Perhaps 1/3rd or 2/5th of Engraved Gear available would only be enabled by Mastercraft but others by the Profession themselves. There is already a lot to earn or attempt to earn for Guild Gear that require marks currently or planned in future as is. :)<3

When I said crafting I didnt mean masterwork crafting.

There are dozens of blue and green crafting items which arent used for anything useful.

I'd like recipes for loyal gear added requiring large amounts of these ingredients so we can finally put them to good use.

At first people will be able to craft a lot of them but then the ingredients will dry out and the loyal gear will be reasonably hard to make but not completely out of reach for new players.

Seriously, PUG groups have always been risky.
The fact is that the new skirmish can be done very quickly with a geared group, much quicker than the likes of Prophecy of Madness. Pretty much the only thing that's keeping it from ending up being CTA-ish clear speed-wise is the voting system.

The real problem is the rather anemic drop rate. It would be nice if a harder version was introduced that only allowed +2 or even +3 and better drops.

As for the +5s having overloads, those are only nice on healer companions because healer companions will actually spread the effects of companion overloads to allies when they heal you. If the devs plan to introduce an offensive counterpart of this feature for striker pets (ie, companions will debuff opponents so they take more damage from you) then sure. Otherwise, no.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

Yea I don't believe I was specifically referring to your statement. Some others would like to see Masterwork being extended some after it really never was greatly utilized in MOD 8. One person suggested it might be one way to offer Companion Gear and while I'd have no issue with that, I'd rather simply see it EXTEND the options... :)

And like you WISH more of the different gear at different levels was far more UNIQUE especially the Rare Quality gear so it offered a few more change appearance options. I've spoken many times that PROFESSIONS should at the vary least be highly skilled to producing more change appearance options for various classes. Rather than create specific task that create looks that were far more diverse, high quality, and very appealing for most of the Rare or higher quality gear to offer the same effect. :)

Although there is rumor of 11b having more masterwork options and other SH upgrades. I JUST HOPE THEY soon includes some UPDATES to GENERAL PROFESSIONS that enable as I suggested extended personalized gear called Engraved Gear for You or Companions beyond Neck, Ring or Belt where Mastercraft perhaps also extends 1/3 of the available options available to Legendary Professionals to craft for yourself or companions. :)
