Neverwinter is an endgame game. It has been for a while. Unlike World of Warcraft, for example, the early game has not changed whatsoever nearly since launch. The leveling experience is dull, sometimes buggy, slow, and it only gets worse once you hit Elemental Evil.
My suggestion, for the launch of Mod 11: Follow the example of Everquest 2 during the launch event. What I mean by this is simple: Give away an Adventurer Recruitment Token to everyone who logs in during a given week. I have at least half a dozen friends who I would love to invite to the game, but the leveling experience is simply too dull to engage a new player. Send everyone who has ever played an Arc game an email, mailing list or not, inviting them to return to the game. Events like this are one of the sole reasons Everquest 2 still gets any player influx- and by contrast, Neverwinter's action combat at max level has enough theorycraft and potential for mastery to retain players that are able to reach it.
Players, chime in with this thread- how many people could you convince to join/return to Neverwinter, if they could skip the leveling 'experience'? My personal tally is 4 'new' and 3 'old' players.
A <Friendly Dragon>!
