Agreed that having to run stuff on schedule sucks, but I don't wanna pay for keys :disappointed: even with time, farming campaigns.

All that I can get from a dungeon should be gotten by finishing it, no more.

Now with newest instance, there is literally nothing of real value to chase after.. you cant sale the marks, and its the marks that would hold the most value for the longest time, as its needed the most.

The marks would've been great but I think they really missed something when they made the rings bound to character. If they were BoE at the drop rate in SVA they'd still be a chase item and would've alleviated the companion gear problem a bit.

"All that I can get from a dungeon should be gotten by finishing it, no more."

Truer words were never spoken (in regard to rpgs). Cryptic needs to remember what it actually means to dungeon delve.

This is what I would call FREE TO PLAY PUSH-BACK...Cyrptic has hit a line with monetization a lot of players just can't handle.

refused to "redo" make new keys from 2k voninbloods, that took me 2 weeks to gather 2k VB vails. i still hadnt finish the boons on Thunder, i stop awhile ago in pure frustration. when i heard about upkeeping (repairs) with current armor set, that is insane. it drive folks away.
plus, i still dont like RNG. it is no fun to run so many times and get burned. i lost too much time on it, and i found so happy when i just played ESO even some are bugged and they are more honest.
then WHY doesnt NWO teams ever understand the word "Fun" means? run 20 times or 200 times, is that fun? heck no!

original dev team did really understood, they added seals and marks so we can earn to buy next new armor sets, but i hate this current crew that put RNG on everything, it wasnt those devs, it was those guys in suits and in market, the brain team is just pure greed and seem cant get enough, and items in Zen market are getting too pricey.
i will not blame original team for bad Mod 6, they were replaced before they were able to finished with newer armor set, they werent added until 4-6 weeks later to make them look good when they took over, and they are not that good as original team, because they cant fix dungeons for months, it made me hard to believe them, so they added more RNG than what was needed, RNG was only intended for Lockboxes only!

in my opinion, they need excuses for RNG and rake in the cash. i just realized NWO was becoming more casino instead of real RPG.

One can get 2k Voninblood in Bryn Shander in about 20 mins. Less with potions and better equipment.

You're playing the wrong genre if you've only got 20 minutes a day.

    * will the number of keys be limited? like e.g. the keys for the SOMI chests is limited to only 5.

I would not be surprised at all if the number is reduced to one. Remember, the whole idea was to force entice convince us to buy legendary keys for ZEN.

Why not List the new loot tables/ item descriptions and their drop chance you should be happy to brag and show us these things right ?? since you have been working soooo hard on new treasure loot with 2.5 devs as you stated ...

thats what we really want to see here stop getting distracted by extra bag space guys lol

Where are the loot tables and drop chances listed that justify keys changes now or are they just going to be released without our feedback arbitrarily ....cause you know deadlines and all blah blah .... ??

Kalina- Good questions. Again, we are testing in house and making sure that not only everything works, but new items are actually cool and provide game play choices and value. Some of them may not pass muster, others may tuned or have things added, and drop rate ratios dialed in- which is why I said when we are ready to put up on preview we'll provide more details. I appreciate your patience.

This is all well and good however I have one misgiving, that being the 'testing on the preview server' phase. Depending on how you implement things, certain aspects may not be testable in a reasonable amount of time. Specifically things tied to drop rate.

I've been known to spend a substantial amount of time on the preview server, testing things for personal use and testing things before they come out in hopes that any feedback I give may help when content goes live. That being said, when we're talking about dungeon loot it sets off an alarm in my brain that screams, "How many dungeon runs am I going to have to do on the preview server to get an idea of whether or not these new changes feel balanced and rewarding?"

    '/rant'
Speaking of, we all know that Neverwinter dungeon rewards feel about as rewarding as a kick in the nethers, a small percentage of the population gets everything they need in short order and the rest of us are left to farm mind-numbingly boring content ad nauseum for months and even then some of us never get the items we're after. Take FBI for instance, I know a few people in my guild that STILL dont have all 4 pieces of Relic Armor they are after, some are struggling to get their 2nd or 3rd piece.. after hundreds of runs, and even after that grind, if your lucky enough to get the pieces you want you get to grind more to restore them and then grind more to vivify them (these 2 parts I don't even mind, but the entire production chain breaks when you can't get the rusted/rotted/ piece to begin with).

Now consider Demogorgon and Castle Never, these have been out for over a year and less than 1/3 of the populace that runs this content on a regular basis has the legendary rings they would prefer, and even when a leg. ring drops 90% of the time its not a ring you want, which is ok for CN or Demo because you can ship them to an alt but not for FBI or SVA.. if you get a ring (rare AF) chances are its not a ring you want, or can even utilize. Guess what!? Your stuck with it! Eat a BoD's! '/endrant'

So back on topic... When you push these changes to the preview server I would highly recommend adding a debug vendor that sells chests which contain the loot one would get from boss drops and dungeon chests, not unlike what you did with the Dragonflight rewards back when we tested Strongholds. This will give us the chance to test the drops without having to run content we know works to test the tidbits at the end that were changed. (Obviously while testing this I would run the content a few times to ensure that everything there is working fine with rewards and then open lots of chests to make sure drop rates are at a place that feels good)

I look forward to 'working' to test your content for free and providing un-biased and honest (brutally and un-apologetically) feedback.

@archangelzorak01 Is the contents of the end chest in any way tied to performance? Similar to Throne skirmish? Not sure if that is the case or not.....

    No, they aren't.

Then maybe a special vendor, as @archangelzorak01 said. They used to do something similar in Ultima Online, where they had 'gates' that would level you, or a skill, up a level everytime you walked through it. Just for testing, of course. Saved tons of time.

I am excited to see the loot changes, it adds a new dynamic to the game and will make me want to rerun content that I may have not run in a while.

No, but to complain about how the pilot is doing, you should at least know what they're up against, instead of armchair-piloting.

I'm not sure why you won't at least reconize that.

Because almost all of your arguement radiates from your single, limited, biased point-of-view, without taking any other factors into account. If you did that, I would recognize it (although if you did that, you might realize that your comments were ill informed, and not make them to begin with, Catch-22, time-loop, all that kinda stuff).

When the pilot makes a left turn over Albuquerque, & the plane ends up in Guatamala instead of Ontario... you have a right to complain. Everyone on board has a right to complain. Sending the CEO of the airline an e-mail asking the pilot to be fired is not entirely out of bounds. Sending the CEO of the airline an e-mail suggesting that the pilot training program be updated shows an admirable sense of restraint.

You are now comparing the Dungeon Key Changes with a pilot heading to the wrong country. Can you see how off this is?

Also, if the airline has a disclaimer on it tickets that says 'your flight experience may change without notice', they are covered legally, and just have to deal with the upset customers. And since they are giving potential notice, options are limited for .... recompense?

You can complain all you want. Just don't expect that everyone (or possibly ANYONE) will think you have a good/valid argument. You spoke of spending 400K AD and getting 100k AD worth. What did you expect, instant profit/break even? Would you say the same on a raffle? Because that is what it amounts to.

Ahoy and happy new year adventurers! As previously mentioned (and not I'm not trolling you) and as promised, when we rolled out the new dungeon key changes onto preview (and soon to the live game) we’d talk more about them. I've posted them here.

I see Thomas already posted here (Thanks Thomas!) but as I just posted to the News Forum's thread on this subject, I'm going to post again anyway just to help bring awareness.

    Well met, everyone!

Julia ( @nitocris83 ) had to take the night off so she wanted us to let you all know here as soon as
Thomas' ( @mimicking#6533 ) thread was up in the Preview Forums:
Dungeon Key and Useful Items for Preview

Please head on over there and take a look and if you do any testing on preview, please provide
your feedback in that thread there.

    Thanks!
