Minsc and other Cameo appearances

I saw him and instantly knew this game is reaching far back to my Baldur's Gate days. Love that cameo and hope to see more from my other D&D games.

I'm new to the whole Forgotten Realms setting (though I played D&D back in the 80s) but of late I've been looking into what is available at the moment and have been loving the comics from IDW - they star Minsc and others (Legends of Baldur's Gate series), so when I saw him it made me smile. The comic has currently moved Minsc & co to the Ravenloft setting, series called "Shadows of the Vampire."

There is a special event where you can have a chance to win a pocket pet which gives you a buff . The event is Resplens Marvellous Game. Here is a link to the wiki. http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Adorable_Pocket_Pet
I think it was last on Xbox Feb / March time , so we may get it on ps4 this year at s o me point (fingers crossed)
Personally, I would like to win a chance of a companion that says 'Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eye's ' I really want to make a character with the name Boo in and a companion to match, or even a hamster mount - now that's an idea for the devs!

I was wandering around, saw the purple glowing tree and the druid and looked at the guy next to the druid, saw the name "Minsc". I squee'd loud enough in RL for the family to notice...and I never even played the Bioware PC FR games! I immediately looked for the hamster but he doesn't have one! What kind of oversight was that?

Also I'd LOVE for the chance to have a pet hamster, and of course a Giant Space Hamster mount.

Ive been reading the Salvatore books about Drizzt since i was a kid.

Buddy of mine on voice chat had to listen to me fanboy a bit when i started the quest chain and had to talk to "Spider Parrafin Topolino".

And I might have deafened him when i yelled out "The Pwent!! Bwahahahaa"

seriously pwent is entertaining in the books...battleragers were fantastic

...they train by drinking something the dwarves call "gutbuster" so pretty much bacardi 151 or some sort of home brew newfoundland screech

...and then they put their helmets on, and run into stone walls headfirst...repeatedly

Oh, the nostalgia. I was very geeked to see him among others.

Minsc made me so happy, I like Drizzt and all - but Minsc and Boo have a special place in my heart. I would love to have a Miniature Giant Space Hamster as a companion. Clearly it should be a companion that blinds, confuses and stuns the enemy with it's sheer prowess in battle.

I never win what I want from anything... If I'm ever lucky enough to win anything it's generally what everyone else wants but not me. My luck I would win some Epic ion stone of superness when I would have been happier with a green level hamster - lol.

They should make one that is a mount, that you step into and it oozes you around

There actually IS a gelatinous cube mount. Also, there was an item called "The Miniature Giant Space Hamster" that was given away by a promo I can't recall waaaaaaaaaay back when mod 6 released. You pet it and it gives you a boost to your regeneration for 10 minutes.

Also, if you want a giggle, do the dailies with Minsc (Swords for Everyone and Gathering Seeds For Goodness) and read the combat logs. The names of his powers are priceless.

I have already fanboy out on a bunch of RA Salvatore characters the icewind dale novels are some of my favorite growing up and being able to fight with the characters give me no end of satisfaction. Im not a fan of the character model i saw of Catti-brie in the new content PC just got but hey its still cool that she will be in the game. and when i bumped into Pwent I was super happy. and the first dungeon being Kesslers retreat. All of it makes me want to go back and read the novels again

I remember reading something about how he actually came up with the names for his characters. Can't recall the link, though.

Jarlaxle was the first character I ran into that made me fanboy. Also, looking through the collections, I saw a panther companion similar to guenhwyvar.

I know this is probably the wrong place for this but I can't start new threads yet. What are the chances, do you think, that a code for the miniature giant space hamster bought on ebay will work?
  • bloodshot#9399 bloodshot Member Posts: 54 Arc User
I've noticed a bunch of cameos so far from the Salvatore books like jaralaxle as mentioned, also made me fan out a little stokely in IWD, there are a ton. Hoping to see cpt. duedermont or the harpell's would be cool.

No chance of a Captain Deudermont cameo since he died at the end of Salvatore's "the pirate king" book.

I know he died in the book but still, would be a cool campaign.

Elminster! How could I forget? Awesome. For some reason now it makes me think of Cadderly. Since my duedermont suggestion seemed to not fly with him being dead and all, We need Spirit Soaring in here as a map or something!
  • caliosto#7183 caliosto Member Posts: 37 Arc User
Deudermont may be dead, but I'd like to see Robillard. He was a fun character, survived the fall of Luskan, and we know wizards can find ways to live centuries.
  • nightbare#9304 nightbare Member Posts: 30 Arc User
Tika Waylan would be a cool npc too
