45 I have opened with saved keys, I only received 1 Insignia pack but all the rest were the Companion, Profession and other random packs. Was hoping for a bit of a higher drop rate of those Insignias.

Between myself and others I think the total being over 1000 boxes, no legendary for anyone and I got 1 epic insignia pack. Unless they failed to mention it when they said they got nothing then I think my 1 epic was the only one.... drop rate is horrendous.
Noob question, how are you guys able to get so many lock boxes open? The exchange rate (Astral ->Zen) is crazy high. Do you guys use real money and buy? I am only 63 but it seems Astral Diamonds are hard to come by.
Use every 40% off key coupon you get and in rare instances like black Friday and keys are 50% off stock up... for the more fortunate the mythic wallet artifact has no cooldown.

I love that last part.
And honestly I have opened up tons of lockboxes (and I am new, thank god for family gifts) and gotten absolute garbage out of them most of the time. You just have to learn that the RNG is a cruel mistress which requires different sacrifices every time you attempt to deal with it. Sometimes its a chicken, sometimes a goat, others the blood of your first born.... oh wait...
And yes I am serious when I say this, I still have not gotten a N7 Lancer from ME3's RNG with years of online play.... So be prepared to wait and get garbage.

only if you are expert on maths you can win mounts from lockbox that i will believe until cryptic decide to shut down the game. is not random when the magma guy all the time hit legendary pack from the glorious box respect for his math knowledge.

it is definitely rng, but it is odd to see some players accounts have 5-7 legendary mounts for sale on the AH for 100million ad, seems like there just showing off....
ive never gotten epic or legendary, but then again ive opened under 300 boxes, so you get what you pay for i guess.
they have helped me lvl along the way thou. refining and gmop's. so theres that.

since 3 hours 5 admin for the same person i will not post name i respect the rules here. rng is a myth.................. or they open 10k lockboxes? i dont believe that. i have failed to get admin on 1000 lockboxes..................
For those asking questions about RNG. It is an acronym that stands for Random Number Generation, which programmers refer to as PsuedoRandom Number Generation. They add "Psuedo" because it is basically the Latin equivalent of "-ish" or kinda.
Programatically, there is no such thing as a truly random number, just numbers that are so difficult to predict that it appears random. All that happens is an equation, referred to as their algorithm, filled with some number of variables. Take the following example: (746341*x^y + t)/z
Now we plug in the variables with programming. X will be our x coordinate. Y, our y coordinate, z is our z coordinate, and the is our current time, in milliseconds.
Now we have that part down, we need to make it a number between 1 and 1,000, and define our win conditions. A lot of programs will simply do the last step of the algorithm again until the number is small enough, in this case, that is dividing by our z coordinate. Say we win the legendary prize on a roll of 1000.
Someone opens a lockbox at MATHSTUFF location. Their end result is way over 1,000. After several divide by 'z' actions, we find ourself at 1,450. Still too high, but this is where it gets kind of important. Say we are at z=100, relatively high depending on the area. Your next result will be 14 (programming drops decimal points, ignoring rounding unless taught otherwise). With a 14 you find yourself hitting the trade bar jackpot. Bleh. Same example, at very low z, just over 1 but below 2. The division is so small it barely effects the 1450. With the lack of rounding, a z close enough to 1 (but greater than one) will basically be the same as subtracting 1 every time. 450 iterations later, you have rolled a 1,000. Congrats on your legendary mount.
Time is almost always a factor in any rng. Other possibilities include x, y, z coordinates, number of characters in name, binary representation of entire name, etc.
You can even gear the rng to favor certain people. Having a reference to a specific letter or vip rank in the divisor that decreases the divide by would lean the rng to favor that person.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. G. I. Joe!

I myself have had pretty decent luck as of late with the newest lockbox and the glorious resurgence one. The newest I've opened five so far and have gotten artifact belt out of three of them. The glorious redurgence box when it came out the first one I opened was the legendary mount one. After that had HAMSTER luck until now.
That is a great post, I always assumed the time was at least one factor for the rolls as that is very easy and I have felt like location might also be in the equation but I certainly do not open enough boxes to have anything more than a hunch.
Whenever I feel like buying keys I watch a lockbox opening video on Youtube. CyberDiN will do a thousand at a time and get 3 or 4 epics and perhaps 1 legendary if he/she's lucky. I then look at the 20 keys I'm thinking of buying and decide not to....
Edit: I also think about the time I converted 3.5 Mil Ad into Zen (when ADX was around 150) and bought a load of keys. Sold everything from all the boxes and ended up with 800K. So a 2.7 Mil loss. I've stopped buying keys unless I get 40%.

If it helps, I've noticed spikes in wins at 23 minutes and 47 minutes.
And I am still hoping for a big win some time in the future for a legendary. I could really use one.
