Same issues here... game is unplayable with this connection. All indicators point to Cryptic... Here is my Tracert:

So the problem is 100% a Cryptic issue. Their internal routing is totally screwed up. So dont spend 2 hours on the phone with Comcast... it isnt them.

    Cryptic... please fix your network!

I am having the server not responding on Xbox One, pretty much same issues as you guys. Game is unplayable. I too have comcast (California) and have no other issues with any other games on Xbox at the moment.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. The past month, I been running these games fine, until yesterday (28 August 2015). Suddenly I rubberband all over the place, I load/clip under the ground, and I just get spammed with the SNRs. It only happens with crpytic games (idk about the other arcgames, I only play chmapion sand NW here). Other mmos I have run fine. Although I been reading the posts, and I too am using Comcast. I was thinking it had to do something with my ISP but NW/Champions are the only mmos that has these issues, I can play any other MMO fine (atm I am playing inspirit and Trove).

    > It would appear you still have a network issue. Hopefully you'll extend the double AD at least since we've lost hours of AD collection through this issue. I'm starting to regret getting a 12 month sub and the money I've dropped into this game so far. Not because there are issues. But because you wont acknowledge them

I've dropped hundreds into this game in the relatively short time I've played it. I'm quite glad I didn't shell out the money for the 12 month VIP/Subscription (whatever you want to call it). Clearly you are having an issue with your server, please address this formally to your customers. In my opinion, clearing the BOTS out of the game would alleviate a ton of stress on your server...maybe you should look into it.

Just had several minutes of SNR and now I can't connect to the login server. Whatever the problem is, it's still there.

Check the internet for news on Level3 issues folks. It's not a Game Server issue, it's a World-Wide issue affecting any Level3 system/network. If ya really want to get irate at someone, get irate at the Network Companies so they do something about it.

    Same. Not much to add.
I generally play early mornings during the week and as well as assorted times. I tend to have most lag problems with NW during the weekends and evenings. I chalk it up to peak timing. So at first I thought this was more of the same. But after a few minutes it became apparent that this was way worse. Did some checking, my network and internet are smoking fast and I am experiencing zero other issues.

It's not Level3, that issue was resolved yesterday. All traceroutes point to the cryptic network at this time.

Incorrect. There's still Level3 issues happening, just not as widespread. Boston is still affected, where the game servers are located. Furthermore, all traces I have seen are showing the issue on a Cogentco network, not at the game server, but before the user ever gets to the game server. Which suggests even further that it is indeed a Level3 issue on a Cogentco network in Boston.

Read the tracerts, Zeb. While it is true that the Boston area still shows as under some level of outage from the Level3 thing, that last hop is internal to the server farm Cryptic is using.

Uh, I am and I just told you and you even confirmed that Boston is affected where the Servers are located. So yeah, trying to connect to the Boston server on any Level3 network is going have issues reaching the server's IP.

Especially since we're both using Comcast, our internet is otherwise fine, and we're both hopping through the node at Wallingford (probably the Comcast building on Moore Rd.)

  • clixjynxclixjynx Member Posts: 9 Arc User
I'm having the same issue. Game is unplayable. It constantly says server is not responding. It's not on my end. 150mbps down / 20kbps Up. Launcher takes forever to load the start button. Character screen takes forever to load up. Once character is selected, the game takes forever to start. Once in game, the server is not responding from the moment you're in-game. VIP key's are not claimable for a long time, invoking cannot be done either for a long time. Takes about 2-5 minutes of just standing there before you can do anything. One you can claim and invoke, it takes forever for the game to register that you clicked a button. After about another minute you get your item but the server stops responding again. It continues to do this and does not stop. Every few seconds, the server stops responding. It's continuous. The game has been made completely unplayable since that last patch. I've asked in zone chat, and I get replies right away from many players stating that they are having the problem too. Someone suggested to turn off Quest Tracker on my HUD, however after doing that, nothing changed. The issue still continues. I completely missed the bahamut items because of this problem and the AD event as well. These kind of issues are never compensated for either. This is completely wrong to not redo the AD event another week and also allow everyone who wasn't able to play because of this issue on CRYPTIC'S end, to get the items they were promised, just like everyone else. And participate in the event that you guys had everyone excited for. Every single time there is a double anything event the game suddenly has major problems. Fix this and even though I know you won't do the double AD event again because it seems that you guys don't care at all about people missing out on events because of YOUR mistakes, I'll ask anyway. Run the event again. Even if it has to be a couple of weeks from now, at least do the right thing, just once. This is totally unfair. Many of us have stuck by you guys even after all of the game breaking issues that have happened, and horrible modules. The LEAST you can do is show some appreciation and consideration. Double Refine is coming up and I honestly expect something major to interrupt that and cause maintenance or some other thing that will cause it to be another failure. Some sort of response from the devs that they acknowledge the server issue and are going to fix it would be great. You guys shut the server down for hours over Guild Currency cap not being fixed from the patch that should have fixed it. Why in the world has emergency maintenance not started already for this issue? So many people can't play right now.

"server not responding" I see this every few seconds!! What's the deal? Sorry Cryptic, but you all really need to get your stuff together!! I've played this gave for over a year now and this is the worst it's been. Is it too much to ask you all to make sure stuff works BEFORE you put it out there? I can't do ANYTHING, and it crashes on me when I do nothing. I do hope you fix this soon. This is ridiculous!

While the Level3 thing is clearly not helping the brick wall, the timeout, is apparently at one of Cryptic's servers.

I'm experiencing the same issues in GA, again with Comcast as the ISP. The one time that I actually did connect to my character, the SRT was pushing 300+ before I exited. Using Europe as the game proxy in the Launcher options allowed me to play again, although the lag is real. While playable, I may jump through a VPN if this continues.

I don't believe for one second Cryptic is based in Boston. I live in boston and my traceroute goes all over the world before reaching their servers. I also have no issue with everything else on the web just this game. Traceroute to patch server is nothing strange other than its a mile long for supposedly travelling to the same city I live in.

Well, for me, PE is pretty much lag heaven at the moment. But I just ran an hour of dread ring skirmishes with no lag what so ever. Go figure. I just had to exit a moment as everything I clicked on in my bags stuck on my cursor.

I'm having the same issue everyone else is. Mostly, I can't even get into the game because it says the server is unavailable. But the one time I did connect the frame rate was insanely slow and I didn't even try to fight or do quests.

Just wanted to chime in as well. I'm in the SE US coast. Have comcast(they have a monopoly down here really) and I get crazy pings /received with netgraph (100s-1000s on ping... and way high numbers on recieved)
Also in doing a tracer I'm getting an odd timeout before connecting to patchserver....http://i.imgur.com/pVMYCDN.png
I've seen this issue before and had no way to correct it on my end and had to wait a few days for it to correct itself...

The Cryptic servers do appear to be in the Boston area from the trace route, though I still think that there is reason for Crytpic to look internally at this. The IP address just before my tracert times out is registered to Cryptic not an ISP. I can get to that IP in no time at all, but time out on the next hop.

This is the last IP that I can get to:
    http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=express&host=198.49.243.253
Scroll down and you will see who it is registered to.

Ironcially, I had problems getting to the Perfect World download site too. It took multiple tries to download CrypticNetTest.exe, which is only 2.4MB. When I did finally get it to download it gives me: "contacting nettest server..timed out".

To test the Boston theory, I downloaded some software from MIT and had no issues with speed. Though is it possible that their servers are hosted off campus.

I have diagnosed my connection and it is otherwise sound.

My ISP is also Comcast, though I am in the Northwest of the US (Seattle).

The issue is certainly internal to cryptic, i'll just keep saying it regardless of what the Mod states. The internal hop that is timing out for EVERYONE would just be high latency if it were an issue with the level3 pipe, not a complete timeout. Also it would be affecting everyone, not just comcast folk.

Something changed on the Cryptic end with DNS or some connectivity route to the comcast pipe is my guess.

I'm Comcast and I can do anything on the internet I want except play Neverwinter. As of last night...no problems...get on this morning; Massive Server issues.
