You are correct our shadow step makes us immune to control effects we do not possess any way of dodging any attack so we still take the dammage.
I can see my dots doing dmg when a rogue hits invis my debuffs fall off and need to be reapplied I have also tested this on the test dummies.
If I turn away from the dummies or lose sight of them for instance doing a 180 the debuff falls off immiadtly.
No other class could eat dots like the rogue at a sliver of health and I land warlocks bargain which crits for 24-26k total and none crit 12-14k this of course is nothing new just rehashing whats already been covered in several other topics.
For TR's to remain a valid class they need to have a skill set that keeps them effective. Their speciality is stealth and the high damage back-stab & always has been in D&D.
They do however have a definite advantage over other players of equal GS, regardless of class and to my mind that comes down to two points: Permadaze & Permastealth.
Permadazing - how is the ability to keep an opponent permanently dazed until they are dead reasonable or balanced?
Permastealth - In D&D the point of stealth is obviously to sneak up on your opponent & land a surprise attack (fair enough) but re-stealthing immediately is where the problem is. Not only does this make them impossible to fight, it goes against the very balanced rules of D&D.
Perma anything is ofc the problem - imagine a GWF with perma-unstoppable? or a CW with perma-shield?
In pvp there simply needs to be gaps between stuns on targets. If there's a 3 second gap between stuns from any direction being applied to a player then you have the ability to fight back and it encourages players to only slot 1 stun skill.
With permastealth, the CW shield only regenerates if they are not hit for 6 seconds - I'd like to see a similar period before a TR can re-stealth after attacking. Again this will force them to actually FIGHT the target and not stealth/strike/stealth/strike ~ repeat til dead.
I don't want Cryptic to do to the TR what they did to the GWF & render it almost pointless but the simple fact that PvP has more TR's playing and dominating the first 10 pages of the leaderboard should be evidence enough that it is not skill, it is skillset.
btw, I was playing my CW in PvP the other day and found myself in a pug with no less than four TR's! Needless to say we won easily - then decided to stay together for a few more games (ofc) and regardless of how good the opposition was, we won every single match. As the only visible tm I ofc died the most - lol.

Elven battle enchantment. Makes more difference than full tenacity. Buy a perfect and all of a sudden archers don't seem so bad anymore. I can actually compete with them now on my rogue.
The hunters have a nasty bleed move now. I've bled for easily 20k+ before I had the enchantment. Since I have acquired the enchantment my kd has went from around a 1.05 to a 1.6. Also my win loss ratio has improved drastically and I pretty much exclusively play in pug groups. My biggest problem before was those damn traps.... The enchantment helps immensely. There are a lot of times I see the trap hit me and instantly releases, or if it does grab it's hold time is greatly reduced. I'm only at regular elven. Imagine perfect..... Also the extra 20% stamina Gain is awesome. Nothing better than more dodging on a rogue.
