Good question. I meant to ask this last night.

I know the goal is to eventually have as few differences as possible so I expect Xbox will get a VIP program if not the exact same one sooner rather than later but when is something I have not been informed about. More to come soon I hope.

When Xbox gets Strongholds would be my guess. Maybe sooner but that would make sense. Either way I am happy with it.

What does VIP involve and what do you get from it?

Thanks for the link, very informative. So it's a pay to win option then?

so it's best i start saving zen earned from AD exchange in the case it is confirmed that we'll get VIP?

it probably won't be until mod 7 release in december.

it takes a little while to save up AD on my other 2 characters since i only use them for daily invocation

I can get 1000 zen in just a couple of days. Salvage, dailies, selling on the TH. As long as the ex does not get too high.

The VIP program is account wide. You only need to pay 1000 Zen per account,
    not per character. :)

This. If you are gaining AD and converting to Zen on multiple characters you can get 1000 per month very easily. I do it on one character(although I have 8 slots). I get about 1500 zen in two days.

i know it's not per character. it's just the other characters aren't lv 60
i devote most of my NW time with my LV 60 HR Nora, and grinding enchantment items, which i will be doing for Elemental Evil

The VIP program is like a monthly sub that some games have, I've seen it on a lot of F2P games as a way for them to have a income on a monthly basis for the players that feel the game is worth a monthly sub. I'd gladly welcome it. I don't mind paying subs for games I enjoy, rather that a buy items option from a item shop to get ahead.

The VIP program sounds very awesome. I am definitely going to buy a year so I can be at the max rank. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend will want a year as well. I know my son would want it but he might have to wait for xmas, which is when this might come out anyways. I love D&D and I love Neverwinter. I have no issue putting in money to support this game. I hope the VIP program comes out sooner then later. Really excited about the future for this game. All the new content next month, Strongholds coming soon and hopefully the VIP program. Can't wait!

I currently pay $15/month for World of Tanks which I hardly play any more thanks to NeverWinter. I would be more than happy to pay $10 a month to open 30 lock boxes.

It's cool and everything but won't it make the AD exchange skyrocket? Might be actually cheaper to buy with real money? And that's probably what the developers are going for

This will push the price of Zen up quite a bit as suddenly everyone will want it - expect it to sit permanently above 300 AD each.

I am actually pretty sure that they could not implement this on Xbox. There is something about no games being able to implement monthly subscriptions or something. Xbox does not think its customers should have to pay for that given that they already pay for Xbox Live. There could be some loophole about this, but I am pretty sure this is true.

Project spark has a similar idea (also a free to play game) where you can buy months of "premium" access so should be no issues on that front bringing this to the xbox.
  • patsfirepatsfire Member Posts: 833 Arc User
I thought about my comment and I must correct myself. Forcing a player to have a subscription just to play the game is against TOS. BUT, offering a monthly payment for content is okay. That way the player is not forced to buy something to play a game.

Seems similar to Battlefield Premium to me, and that's fine on Xbox.

ESO has a monthly thing as well, if I remember correctly. Only played the game 2 days after release. Neverwinter is way better then ESO so I didn't waste anymore time on ESO. Lol

Ok the way it works is MS gets a small portion of the profits from the sales which they would have already setup with the zen market, Trust me, Reason MS hasn't taken on FFXIV like Sony did with a monthly sub is that when MS did it with 360 and FFXI, MS never saw a dime from SE when they did it. It was a trial for MS and it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to. You didn't even need gold to play it. You just needed to be on with Silver.

World of Tanks is free to play on Xbox... You can purchase WoT gold in game to buy Premium tanks, Equipment, and "Premium Time" by the day, month, and year.

  • patsfirepatsfire Member Posts: 833 Arc User
As I said, an OPTIONAL monthly charge is allowed by Microsoft, but a FORCED monthly charge just to play a game is forbidden.

Yep, definitely worth just signing up for the year out of the gate. Can't wait until this drops for xbox.

One year would be 10200 zen.. which is $100 for a year.

But if you farmed your AD and converted to Zen, then thats different
