I need some serious advice!

Hey everyone,

I have been playing Neverwinter for quite a while now and previously I had a Hunter Ranger as well as a Cleric.

Now I'm unfamiliar with Module 6 due to a quit, but now I am back I want to focus on a DPS-role class.
I don't know what class to choose, because I tried a TR but I heard that they are not as good anymore as they used to be. Also I was looking towards a Control Wizard or a Warlock, but I don't know if they're any good. I mostly see CW's but a warlock has more damage? It's confusing me. Also I have no insight in GWF's etc...

I focus on PvE.

I am hoping someone can have a clear answer for me what a good DPS class is with a build I can follow! (TR guides are not recent for example.)

    Yes.

    Most of the time, GWF deals most DPS for PvE content. TR is also good, and a CW can also definitely hold their own. All of these are viable options with their own style/benefits.

    SW is pretty broken -- low DPS unless you are BiS.

    GWF is top damage dealer atm, but CW is the safe choice, they have always been top/close to top classes in pve

    What is SW BiS? :s And Is GWF a general fun class? CW seems awesome, but the heals etc confuse me. I assume it's a support class that deals damage or the other way around?

    I love my GWF. He's not as DPS as some of the uberbuilds out there, but he's a lot of fun to play. A friend of mine as a SW that can out-DPS my GWF. He's certainly not BiS.. just knows how to play his character...

    Even when your BiS your going to be putting out less damage then any other class with half your gear. My level 70 CW with NO enchantments, a 1.9k IS and no weapon enchantment can outdamage my fury SW with 3k is and rank 9s. It's sad, but it's oh sooo true.

    Then I would love to see how his gear and playstyle differ from mine. Because I'm rocking out Burning armor, rank 9s with legendary artifacts and artifact weapons and underperforming in almost every way imaginable.

    Not so much in PvP, but in PvE. Horrowstorm is still bugged that it doesnt do the knockdown, TT has been nerfed, Creeping Death damage has been nerfed. Everything has been nerfed.

    The sole exception to the rule with the Warlock is if you use the damnation path, then a certain build that uses the procs with the lostmauth set and the pet can put out decent damage. But in all honesty, that's pretty close to being a exploit as far as I'm concerned.

    GWFs are the current PvE flavour of the month. With the right build, and good enough gear, they'll do insane damage that often eclipses the damage output of entire groups. Pretty sure they'll be getting the nerf bat soon.

    They better not nerf the TR too much in the next mod - they are where they need to be in PvE. Nerfing the TR in PvE will end my interest in this game . . . permanently. That is a promise, not a threat.
