    And as you might or might not have read, in my quoted post I generally approve of the more pragmatic Heal/Tank/DPS approach which then makes the difference between Striker and Controller totally obsolete.

    Basic problem here: Somehow the definitions are completely muddied.

    Imo the problem really lies in the fact that NWO was created as a non holy trinity model mmo. Devs didn't want fixed roles for classes and they prolly wanted to keep groups flexible. It had a potential back then but imbalance screwed it over and we've withenssed things like 5 CW, 5 GWF (or whatever) groups. Now to the forementioned problem. This had changed. Devs now want this to be a holy trinity mmo. They want us to have a tank, a healer and dps' (or rather holy rectangle since control is something important in this game but nvm). The thing is, they have absolutely NO IDEA how to make this work, hence we see tanks being 1shotted, controlers wanting to still to do damage (can't really blame then for having this mindset served for like 2 years) and dps' that either can't do dps (SWs) or do obscene amounts of damage compared to other dps classes (GWFs - a note here - i'm not for a nerf for GWFs, i'm all for buffing other dps classes to be on par - AFTEF LOSTMAUTH FIX though).

    But ofc it all resolves around dev team competence which is... we all can clearly see how it looks like :)
