Idea: Mount refund token

IDEA: Mount Refund Token for 110% mount

WHY: Because I just cant justify spending an additional 3500 zen for a new 110% mount after I already purchased a 110% mount from the zen market. But I would happily cycle through mounts by purchasing a new mount. A lot of people bought the first 3500 zen mounts at launch but would much rather own the newer mounts you release. I feel this option would allow you to capitalize on more switches to the newer mounts and putting more money in your pocket.

HOW: Create a token that refunds 2500 Zen for turning in your 110% mount purchase(on all characters). Essentially, you're creating a 1000 zen mount reroll token. If you do not like the idea of returning Zen back into the Economy, then simply create a 1000 zen mount reroll token.

I can tell you for a fact I will buy this repeatedly to enjoy the cosmetic change.

Seems smart to me! Thoughts?

edit: clarified that the refund/reroll token idea is tailored towards people who already purchased the 3500zen mount from the zen market

Cause you can't buy Zen with Astral diamonds. .. 3500z is freaking cheap plus you can get a new toon to level 20 real quick for a discount coupon on mounts. ..

Less than 800kz plus you can use on more than one character. Try buying a rage drake lol. That's for just one character.

Jaxcevaal, I am trying to understand your point but you are a bit all over the place. Are you saying that 3500 zen is cheap, so people will just buy new mounts in addition to the ones they already have?

If that is what you're saying, then I flat out disagree. We do not have the statistics on our end, but I would challenge Cryptic to look up how many people have bought a second 3500 zen mount after already owning one. I would gather that number of people is below 2% of the population that owns 3500zen purchased mounts. IE, no one that owns a Zen Market purchased 3500 zen mount will buy another one.

BUT if you make the reroll token, those people WILL spend an addition 1000zen to buy/trade in their current mount for a new one.

I thought I was bad. To be honest I only have one, the Spider, but when the Unicorns come out, I will get both and the Shadow Wolf for sure.

To Ainge, there has been heavy discounts on mounts mount combo packs on the PC, usually around the 3 week Winter Festival time which is end of the year into early next year. People have been asking for mount programs like yours, and others, since the game came out on PC. It's not going to happen.

They haven't yet implemented weekly sales in the Zen store, 30 % off is most common, 40 and 50 have happened. I do not know when this will begin, but I believe it will. Not every sale will be a mount, but many will (not all 110%).

In summary, yes there are players that will but multiple mounts. Usually for this is for role play, character customization or just because "it looks cool".

Currently 3500z would cost you 558k Astral Diamonds (158 a piece)...... That is NOT expensive! Nobody said you had to pay to play. Getting 558k AD is NOT difficult or time consuming once you have the ability to run the dungeons that drop stuff worth something. T2 Dungeons can drop gear worth well over 300k AD... And you would be surprised how many people have things.

And yes, new level 20 character will get a mount coupon saving 15%... 475k ish for a mount that is good for ALL of your characters? Not just one? I don't see how that is an issue.

Like I said, try spending 475k on a mount for ONE of your characters. (Rage drake or others). There is no need for reroll tokens as people DO buy multiple mounts and people DO buy zen with AD. I've opened up over 1,000 lockboxes with only spending $50 on this game.

Ditto - I just bought the Hero of the North pack with Zen made entirely on the AD market (account wide, so all my toons can get an epic mount and companion) and I'm around 2000 toward my Dragonborn Legend pack. At the moment I'm only buying stuff with account wide benefits, and once I've ten or so characters on level 20 professions (or even just Leadership), I'll start getting individual stuff.

Spend money on character slots instead, and you'll never have to pay another cent after that. It takes longer, true, but if you're not going to invest time in the game, why are you buying anything at all?

It was your choice to buy the first 3500 Zen Mount...

Honestly, Mounts don't come in handy very much besides for using them to get to dragons for dailies... So what, I spend MAYBE a grand total of 3 minutes on my mount from place to place... and that's and 80% mount! You can't use them in Dungeons, so mounts become just a pretty item for your toon to sit on. 'Bout it.

Well, in all due respect, 558k is actually pretty time consuming for those of us with jobs, families, etc. etc...

But I do still see where you're coming from, I'm pretty comfortable off with the game having around 400k AD.

It could take me all week or more to make that much

Find some good friends, or a decent guild. You can make that rather quick even with a full time job / family.

Run your daily quests so you can get into the Lair of Lostmauth and Shores of Tuern.
T2 Dungeon Bind on Equip loot (set pieces, they will say (0/4)) are worth a TONNNN.
Check the market, there's a few "Grand Rings" worth 40k+ a piece, as well as the Hrimnir rings/amulet/
Really, even with minimal time you can keep up and buy a mount every few days.

I am currently at 14.5k GS and I am not going any higher until new content because there is nothing in this game that I can not do as a skilled Cleric. I do not bother buying new gear or increasing it. I will get my Draconic set when I get it. I am not interested in spending my AD increasing my GS upgrading enchantments and stuff.

Vorpal/Soulforge shards can sell for 5-7k a piece on the Auction House as well. There's money to be made all over the place.

In essence you are simply saying that zen prices are too high.

Absolutely. Cryptic (or more likely PWE) for some reason ("new" MMO "coming soon?") apparently do not care or understand Economics 101 -- supply/demand pricing. If they were to lower prices, they would likely sell many more units making more money in the long run.

Comparing NWO zen prices to "other" (STO, etc) "free" to play games anyone can easily see NWO prices are exorbitant.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there many F2P games that do cash shops that have TEMPORARY items? As In you could pay $10 or $15 for a mount or fashion that lasts 7 days? I've played some of these, and for some reason people PAY that. Lol.

Only a handful have rental cash shops & a majority of those games flop right out of the gate or end up changing things midthrough. Only a few remain with such a system & that is ONLY due to the fact that they were one of the very first F2P MMORPG's to enter the global market. Maple Story is one of those games. Going by modern F2P MMO standards, Neverwinter's pricing is well above average compared to what could be found in other F2P/B2P MMORPG's. Top end mounts going for $35 where they go for $20 in many other F2P MMORPG's. Companions going for $25 where they go for $10 in other MMO's that have a similar system excluding the stat bonus. Not counting inactive pets since that is different. Other F2P MMORPG's also don't gimp the crafting system with items that you need to pay for or purchase with AD through the AH. They DO sell items that improve the crafting experience or expedite things but they do not gimp it. Other games often do big sales where some of those more expensive items, such as mounts, can be had for around half the price. This is something that SWTOR does a lot. I'm waiting to see if PW will end up doing this with Neverwinter on the Xbox One. They do it for the PC version even though the sales are a joke most of the time.

..and most do huge sales on "fashion" or RP type items - transmutes, clothing, etc. Cryptic/PWE is fairly RP/fashion hostile and way, way, waaaaay overpriced on the few items in that category.
