Leadership, Invoking, T2 dungeons (use seals to buy "trash of the Drake" gear & salvage them, salvage the stuff you won't use that sells for less on the AH than the Salvage value, sell the stuff that sells for more than the salvage value), keep an eye out on the AH for purples that sell for less than Salvage value (then buy & Salvage them), and dailies
All of the above are spot on, but you can also run extra characters as diamond miners. They don't even need to be high level. Being level 30, plus 100% speed on a task, plus making level 3 and 10 in a profession will open four slots you can use for diamond farming in Leadership. Also, the lower-level alts can run dungeon and skirmish dailies very quickly for a diamond boost too.
Other than that, just look at the AH for what is selling well, figure out how to get that stuff cheap (either cheap ingredients or people low-balling) and resell at higher prices.
80 Seals = 5000 AD = 62.5 AD Per Seal
35 Seals = 3000 AD = 85.7 AD Per Seal (Obviously, do this)
I do not know the conversion rate for the "Trash of the Drake" off the top of my head.
Sorry to sound ignorant (still learning about differences in gear, their values, etc), but "Trash of the Unicorn" and "Trash of the Drake"? Is this gear really that bad and shouldn't even be considered for gateway T1 gear? Are they only good for salvaging/AD Farming?

It's useful before you're able to acquire the T1/T2 drop/reward chest loot, but you'll more than likely replace it pretty quickly if you know what you're doing.
I'd highly recommend getting the Drake mainhand though, as you can only replace it in Dread Vaults and you'll be hard pressed as a newer player to find a group that has any clue what they're doing on the last boss. You're pretty much required to cheese it, it's that difficult.
As a rule T1 drop/chest gear has more stats than Unicorn, and T2 drop/chest gear has more stats than Drake. I believe Drake is about halfway between T1 and T2 drop/chest gear as far as stat values go so it's an upgrade from T1 if you're having bad luck in T2 dungeons acquiring what you need.

Thank you for the info.
I figured it was better than nothing and I should probably go ahead and at least purchase that gear until my RNG luck strikes and I start seeing drops in T1/T2 runs. But, at the same time, this gives me more information on other ways of obtaining more AD (already have 4 toons leveling Leaderships as well, two that can run Dailies at 60).
stats won't look all that far off, it's the set bonuses that are missing (and some of the set bonuses are really, really nice)
any of the seal bought stuff is simply a place holder item, the seals (once you can replace all the place holder items) are good for salvaging the "knock off" stuff the seal vendor sells.
IE High Vizier Tunic vs High Vizier Tunic of the Drake (knock off):
434 Power vs 403 Power
434 Recovery vs 403 Recovery
173 Defense vs 169 Defense
196 Deflect vs 193 Deflect
196 Regeneration vs 193 Deflect
Both have 2 enchantment slots
Thing that is missing (other than marginal stat gains) is the set bonus. Drake does not have any bonus. Legit stuff has equip 2 pieces +450 Recovery, equip 4 pieces sweet debuff...
The T1 & T2 armor sets that you get in Dungeons carry set bonuses.
