Few quick questions about dragons

Hello fellow dungeon delvers.

Just a quick one.

How are dragon weapons dropped from the dragons? is it a random chance of a drop on the floor or is it totally random that it will be included in the reward at the top of the screen, that usually consists of draconic enchantments etc for Carthraxis?

Is it random or do you have to fulfill some sort of requirement? Damage to dragon or not wiping during the fight etc?

Last thing, what actually counts as a completion of a heroic encounter? Do you have to be there from the minute it spawns to the end of the fight or do you still have the same chance of dragonbone loot if you join the fight partway into the encounter? I don't mind waiting and updating the zone for the next one at all im just curious as to what actually counts as a successful heroic encounter that would entitle me to a chance of a drop.
