PvP queues slower when you have a friend or two?

So I started playing neverwinter about a week ago, and decided after leveling a TR to 60 through double XP to level a CW through pvp, and met some nice people that like to pvp and decided to do the same. However, queue times aren't exactly fast as a solo player, but they seem to drag forever when I have people with me. Is it just me or do you get penalized for that?

yes, the game is looking for premade.

When I queue as a single player however (15k gs), I get matched up with pre-mades (5 players from the same guild, 20+ gs each). Go figure.

Because that SS/SoD/Righteous bull**** can't find an enemy of their own size. Premades should be seriously separated from PUGs.

OP: That is a central quandary- risk getting mixed in with horrible pugs quing solo or wait a long long time for a que as a premade.

Although I would prefer to leave the "horrible" out of it, being mixed with somewhat under-geared players doesn't bother me. It's the fact that it is just me and perhaps 1 other higher-geared player and 3 or 4 other players under 10k. Now, if the other team was set up like that, it's an even match. We all know that isn't how it usually plays out.

By "horrible" I don't mean gs. I would rather have 4 pvp-savvy players at 10-12k than 4 pvp-challenged players at 20k in pve gear. Horrible as in lacking the basic premise of domination pvp: "make the little towers turn blue by standing on the circular pads beneath them until they turn blue, always and no matter what".

I am not being mean or exaggerating. Horrible pug:

Horrible pug runs to node closest to spawn at start of match.

Horrible pug is attacked at home node before home node is capped, and usually loses.

Horrible pug will fight everywhere and anywhere except on the actual nodes.

Horrible pug will not cap UNLESS another member of their team is on the node and if there are no members of the enemy team on the node.

Horrible pug will ALL run to that node where there is no enemy.

Every pug match I politely and clearly say before the match starts, "Hi, please all go to 2 first and fight on the nodes/bases. Thanks! :D" And almost every time they refuse to do this. Which is why I premade.

To answer the question, yes, it does queue slowly. It's a bit of a dilemma currently, since it takes proportionately longer time in accordance to how precise the matchmaking is, so you may potentially be waiting for a long, long time. Empirically, sometimes it could take multiple hours to just finish the 4 daily matches.

OTOH, go easy on the parameters and everybody enjoys quick matches.. except the quality of the match drops down in proportion to how fast you get to play a match.

Just for the record, I wouldn't recommend making 2~3 man premades to any casual players, unless they are fully prepared to face duo~trio of 20k GS premade players teamed up looking for easy and fast matches. In reality, it is more likely these 2~3 man duo/trios are the culprits behind the "massive GS difference complaints" seen in the boards.

Large scale premades almost always meet the same large scale premades, and the only people who make these large scale premades are (usually) dedicated premade guilds, in which case the match is very competitive, runs for a very long time (usually over 30min, easily 1 hour), with drama queens on both sides slingling endless trash talks to the other side. The premade level players who get tired of this, usually make 2~3 man premades to go for a joyride massacre into the world of PuGs.
