I'm a level 46 Conq GF. Just want to say that I enjoy this game more than most.. I would have gone about mod 5 differently but w/e. I had some questions regarding encounters in pvp.
I've noticed that many of my opponents will dodge well after my encounters make a successful "hit noise". For example: lunging strike will strike, but the enemy either dodges or blocks well after the striking sound. If you miss, it should make a "whiff" sound. Is this a problem on my end, or a game problem? I can't tell you how frustrating it is to hear my Griffon's Wrath pound somebody on the head, and then watch him dodge and take 0 damage or stun.
Griffon's Wrath leads me to my next question concerning rogues. I know rogues are in god-mode right now, but I've noticed that when Griffon's Wrath connects on a rogue some are not stunned. I understand ITC makes them immune but some rogues won't have it on and this still occurs. Have any other GF's noticed this or am I going crazy?
Also, I would like to know which load outs or builds most of you GF's are using in pvp.
You have to factor in ping and lag, but Hunter Rangers and Trickster Rogoues are notoriously difficult to control, and especially so for a GF.
- Both have powers that give them immunity
- Both have a substantial amount of dodges that allow them to escape
- The Hunter Ranger can get as high as 50% deflection
So what can be happening is you are hitting them in one of their immunity frames or falling victim to the HR's high deflection.
This is my build: Iron Vanguard Conqueror, 18 STR, 27 CON, 20 DEX
Powers in PVP:
At-wills: Crushing Surge and Threatening Rush
Class Features: Shield Talent and Guarded Assault. Starting to experiment with Ferocious Reaction in place of Shield Talent to try and deal with TRs
Encounters: Griffon's Wrath, Bull Charge, Anvil of Doom
Dailies: Indomitable Strike and Supremacy of Steel. You can use Fighter's Recovery in conjunction with Guarded Assault to heal yourself by simply blocking after you've activated Fighter's Recovery.
Just be warned, PVP at 60 gets very difficult for a GF and it will become even more frustrating trying to fight TRs and HRs. TRs get access to a daily that can one shot a GF if they have the right feats and certain HRs (Trappers) get access to Roots that will do a lot of damage to you very quickly.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.
ok thanks. this is helpful. I'll take a closer look at my ping. It seems to be fine in pvp. If I'm fighting a dragon with a bunch of people, then it goes to HAMSTER.
