i checked preview server to see the paladin, and i noticed something very wrong about its cosmetic looks way to similar with Guardian fighter...
all the guardian fighter gear can be equiped by paladin too, it needs a special gear with different bonuses and ofc different look.
I call to devs pls dont slack and try to make the class a bit more unique and especialy by gear hope to see unique animations and skills too or else will be a copy paste guardian fighter remodeled very cheap
I totally agree with this. Would be great if their shield was more spiritual in nature rather than an actual shield. Something like an icon that has a shield activate while blocking would be more interesting visually than just a large shield. Or even a smaller shield than the gf design. Feels very lazy and boring if it is exactly the same. Fingers crossed that it is not, but that picture they keep using to promote the new class is not very inspiring or hopeful.
This fits D&D. A paladin does share similarities to a guardian fighter. The devs are not being lazy - they are simply following typical D&D protocol, which they HAVE to do since this is a licensed (owned) product.
People are so quick sometimes to place blame . . .

No, they're not fallowing anything. If they would be fallowing "D&D protocol", the GFs and OPs would be able to equip GWF/DC and lighter armors. They didn't allow HRs, SWs and TRs to use the same gear, but now all of a sudden it's D&D rules? If this is what we get on live, they're not fallowing any D&D rules, they're just taking shortcuts to save money (which it's to be expected).
I hope the OPs will have they're distinct gear sets eventually, and what we get now is just for testing purpose.
I hate dancing with Lady Luck. She always steps on my toes.
REMEMBER: The Paladin is a *work in progress* meaning that not only is it NOT finished, it's a long way from being finished. So for TESTING purposes is would make sense for the Paladin to utilize gear already available when its own gear isn't even ready yet; GF gear that already exists... for *testing*. Purposes.
I'm just bringing these points up as a friendly reminder to all that just because something isn't even finished yet does not a "lazy dev' make, not to mention ability to use existing "close enough" gear while new gear is still being developed.
This is why the Preview test server has both words: "Preview" and "Test" in the name.
