This is a coral call from a series of pople who loved Forgotten Realms and all the Neverwinter games among ages. I bring you herewith three requests:
a) Multi-player compartmentalized foundries, where players can act as dungeon masters and can build real-time their own story.
I loved too much the RPG of this game, i remember when players could act as Dungeon Masters and organize/evolve quest on-real time thorugh elaborated Dungeon Masters interfaces, putting mobs, making them talk, introducing neutral objects, and shaping the environment around on real time. I would really like the possibility to introduce these mini-servers (whose maintenance could be monthlypaid with an "average" amount to Cryptic) with their environment, their story and players acting as dungeon masters questers. Having this on NWN online will be really a dream, and I believe it would bring thousands of players more.
b) RPG dedicated instances
#instances dedicated exclusively to rpg and/or to different countries languages (to further increase rpg players), with dice rolling the abilities like observe, persuade, and so forth. This is simple to be done, and would give people the possibility to TRY what is a RPG environment, stimulating their rpg as well.
c) Take care of PVP
This comes from a series of pvp fans, but i believe from many more people as well. Pvp in the beginning of this game was really fun. Now is like a FPS. Too much damage, too much controls, too much difference.
PVP is a matter of SKILL, which skill there is when a class can one-shot you by clicking 2-3 buttons or even in a single shot? Damage in pvp should be MINIMALIZED, and regeneration ELIMINATED. Now more than Neverwinter seems to play to COD.
And please, i agree with the logic of increasing the longevity of the game by empowering one class per period (so that all players run to try that class, with new cds, new mechanincs, new fun) but please, ENSURE an adequate balance. Certain classes now are ridicolously overpowered, and will win you anyway annihilating all the efforts of doing campaings, improving gear, incresing expertise in combat, learning different class mechanics, and thus all the fun in this game from a pvp perspective.

a) Foundry is set up for linear quests, unless you go into one of those "RP houses", or "farming quest". The ability to make others a DM (or GM if you prefer) was in NWN Classic. Besides, who said you cannot RP a foundry Quest with your own opinions on it as you achieve the goals?
b) They merged servers. Again, just go RP at will wherever. Nobody said you cannot. Discuss other languages in party, or guild chat. Goodness knows our guilds' chatter isn't all English.
c) I've always said there is no such thing as "PvP balance" as people's opnions vary on what "balance" is.
I think that's enough of a reply here before thread goes into some form of needing to be locked.
" I tried to figure out the enigma that was you, and then I realized mastering Wild Magic was easier." - Old Wizard in Waterdeep
"Why is it dragons only use ketchup? I'd like a little wasabi please. Us silvers like a variety of condiments."
"Don't call them foolish mortals. One, they don't learn from it. Two, It just ticks them off." - An Ancient Red Dragon
a) This is NOT NWN1 or NWN2 - players have NEVER been able to DM and run their own servers.
b) see a.
c) Welcome to the ongoing, neverending "requests since beta" (over a year and a half and counting).
Also, "rock" can never, ever, ever defeat "paper." Deal with it. We're all different. D&D is team oriented.
...but I'm sure the large font and different colors will work where hundreds and hundreds of players could not.

In terms of actual pvp balance, it was pretty close post tenacity to end of mod 3.
There are several issues in terms of dom matching.
A. gear score inflation and power creeping is insane. Separate the queues allow a casual and premade to exist.
B. Some people want to much, you have to be realistic. Other mmos dont require every class to be great at pvp, but the dom matching inflates differences, Open world in other mmos decreases those differences , due to less 1 vs 1 matching, however this games version of open world is very bad, allowing the comps in non closed instances, just again puts a massive difference between playerbase. When you have so much 1 vs 1, it highlights deficiencies between classes so much more. For example lets do a lotro example from a couple years ago, my r15 warleader would lose every time to my Mini, if I fought one vs one, but my Warleader + defiler could EASILY defeat a mini and loremaster together (two minis would be different) but most open world battles on my server (riddermark, would easily be 20 vs 20 or more, it all came down to coordination of the group, a good group would win, because they could rotate the rezes in time to keep healers up, if you didn't, then you would lose. Only 1 vs 1 were for the epeen types, every week there would be a player tourney and yes the classes that normally won those would be Champ and Mini's OVER every monster type in game, there would be no comparison, they were so far ahead (both had damage, aoes, on the run moves, and self heals, while alot of the monsters would be stuck in place for certain skills)
C. I agree with the out of control dps/control though, its beyond reason, you go onto node and poeple complain if you live more then 4 seconds. There isnt enough respect in this game on ACTUAL defense specs (so 4k defense 2k deflect, 1.5 regen , 20% tenacity and 36 AC means nothing, because so much damage bypasses defense stats. So in the end people only stack hp nowadays to avoid the one hitting. What a load of garbage its become. People are ripped apart in a few seconds, with trs doing 30 k hits and trappers keeping you in place for 6 seconds at a time and CWs hitting you with 1 damage for storm to be kicked in and slamming you for 10k.
All of that stuff is fine for pve, but it should been greatly reduced or respected defense (or 50% less defense or something)
the 100% by passes ON every group should be removed for pvp purposes, no more then 50% bypass shouldve been allowed for any skill.
...but I'm sure the large font and different colors will work where hundreds and hundreds of players could not.
Nice to hear it
What i am saying is that giving these features to the CURRENT Neverwinter, would not only increase people fun but also Cryptic incomes. On NWN1 thousands of people did it, putting it on their own machine with their own electricity....instead of doing this, we could simply rent to cryptic some "safe" virtual worlds where DMs are able to change the quest on REAL TIMES, and have a lot of potential abilities like going inside png and animate them, creating light effects, giving money, experience, and so forth. Pgs on those worlds would be different from Cryptic Neverwinter world, and Cryptic Developers should not even touch such servers, only get the monthly rent payment.
This is something that would revolutionate the current concept of MMORPG towards a more "neverwinter" playstyle, giving people a lot of fun and Cryptic a lot of money.
Concerning the instances, i am not talking of people looking for RPG but of people liking it because they find it everywhere, and start to do themselves. This is currently impossible but it would be possibile with a dedicated instance.
In the beginning on NWN on-line there were people roleplayng at neverwinter tavern on instance #1...why not to dedicate officially that instance to RPG diffused in all areas?
I am aware these are innovations, but there must be a starting point to everything: if nobody asks, you can be sure it won't be done.
You're asking for Cryptic/PWE to effectively open up their developer side tools and I can't see that happening. Certainly not with all of the exploits that already have occurred on the client side alone.
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.
