Scenario: Dev reading the forums: Oh the forum is filled with 90% of happy and constructive comments, they must like what we do - lets keep doing it!
Problem/ Critical analysis:
Most of the negative opinions gets deleted because they are written in anger or in a none constructive way (according to the mods). And that leads to devs not knowing what the players want or what we think because a major part of the opinions are missing.
Possible solution:
If they stop deleting all the negative comments, maybe the devs wont get the wrong idea of what the players think about the game.
Even if a comment isn't helpful regarding on how to fix things or what would be better, they are still helpful because they show the devs that something IS wrong and something NEEDS attention. The game is over a year old now and its worse then ever. Maybe its time to let the negative comments stay so that the devs can get the whole truth of the players opinions.
Something is obviously NOT working very well since they keep disappointing us because they keep releasing stuff we don't want.
Even though the mods are deleting most stuff, I guess they will give feedback to Akro that 90% of the threads are like "TR TR TR" and "screw you, srsly..."
So while not everything is constructive, the overall sentiment is hard to miss. I don't know how you can read this forum and get the opinion that the game currently is in a good state. They release what they release because it nets income, not because they want to please players, especially not the established ones.
Bringing new guys in for a quick buck is more efficient.
Was just about to start a similar thread seeing all those threads actually stating the current state of the game get locked down. Of course people get upset and emotional in their wording. But things need to be said! This game is going down the drain AND FAST! Not a single attempt is made to counter that - or at least communicated to us players. Saying "Mod 6 will bring something" no longer works. Communication is beyond abyssal.
Let me point you to this scene from the 1970's movie "Network". This really is how most of us that have been playing this game for a long time feel right now. Please! Wake up! The forums are filled with information regarding WHAT is lacking and even mostly HOW to address these issues. I don't see why we should keep reiterating these points in every single critical thread to keep it from getting locked down and deleted.
Threads discussing moderation are not allowed, per section V of Rules of Conduct. Posts which violate the Rules of Conduct are removed--it's not a case of "only showing the positive". It isn't what you say but how you say that that counts. Look around--you'll see a lot of critical comments that aren't worded in pure vitriol, either with more stars than the sky or with more profanity filter dodges than a TR, that aren't basically "the sky is falling, run while you can!!" or "PWE/Cryptic sucks and is just greedy..."
Read this post, it outlines what we consider to be constructive feedback (and points out that constructive need not be synonymous with positive).
