Questions from a returning new player

First of, hello! Nice to be back. I'll be wandering around on my soon-to-be-made scourge warlock. Which brings me to my first question...

1)What in the world happened to the faces, animations and character proportions? I have a character from way back - my 2nd character ever, and also my 'main' - who looks nice, not-disproportionate and has a graceful walk.

And now...I tried to make a character (tiefling female scourge warlock) and she looks pretty awful. The face isn't -too- bad, but the walk looks like she needs to make an offering to the porcelain god but thinks walking is more important. What happened?! *flails around* Am I just doing something wrong?

Also, what happens to tiefling female hips? It looks like they jut out enough to be used as a dinner table or something.

2) Next question being - how's the end game now? Still stuck behind daillies? If I want to be a healer warlock (Temptation) or tank-y group-y, can I do that? I love the look of the Temptation line, but don't know if it's viable.

3) I have a group of friends getting into the game. How well can we progress through the 'end game'? Are all of the dungeons still 4 man (or 5man? I forget which). Are there 'raids' yet?

Thanks for reading! Hope to see everyone around eventually.

    To answer 2+3

The current end game consists out of running Tiamat("Raid")/Well of Dragons over and over again. Epic dungeons require 5 man, so when you happen to have 4 friends there is no problem in playing them. If you have less then it might be a bit problematic to finding people who will play those dungeons with you the "relaxed" way most people still doing dungeons over Tiamat are Gear Score fanatics doing speed runs.
Oh, and most stuff you can get from the Dungeons is on the AH very cheaply, too.

Faces were changed some time ago. There's no going back.

Head models were updated to be more detailed so they could create the Dragonborn race, in the process they mostly went Barbie-look.
Body shapes were all updated to match the new D&D 5th Edition which came out this Summer. My thoughts: they went from so-so to downright fugly.

End game is the same: grind-fest. If you enjoy the content, however, then many new stories have been added so the first and second, maybe even third go 'round can be fun and interesting. But if you're a min-maxer you'll be pulling your hair out in no time. But if you're a more casual player you'll more than likely enjoy it all a lot more.

Welcome back, have fun, never take things too seriously.

On the plus side, mod 5 has 1 new zone worth of dailies ontop of the mod 4s 5 zones. The raid is 25 man with 10k min gs (not enough) and you can't group up with them unless you luck out on timings. I recommend noone tries to get the 7th boon unless they're a heavy completionist or rich enough that they don't care about the costs.

Average max gs is around 25k, there's 4 pieces of artifact equipment that can go to legendary that require more rp than normal artifacts. There used to be cheap lesser res stones that gave 2500 rp and stacked upto 99 that could be bought from bots on the AH, but they removed that with little supstitute. Although prices are still less than half the official zen/bazaar price.

Oh, and of course there's still the buggy releases in case you missed that.

No one answered you're Temptation question: Yes, it's more than viable. In a group especially (which is where the Temp warlock shines), it's more than viable, it's downright amazing especially if the warlock stacks Life Steal. I've straight up tanked DD bosses and Major HE bosses in IWD as a CW with a temp standing nearby, just me and her. My DPS with the massive life steal from the temp made my heal meter look like something on a sound board... but I didn't die and the big bads did and I didn't have to teleport... You put a team together with a temp warlock and a DC, and pretty much any other three... you can win any 5-person PvE.

Outside of the responses to your questions that have already been answered by others:

Ignore max/ultra GS for the most part. You typically need about 13-14k to be most effective in PvP or PvE in IWD and beyond. Some people focus so much on their GS that they really mess up their character builds.

R6/R7 enchants will do - higher than that is for whales with lots of AD to spend (or extreme amounts of time to farm). :)

    ^This.

It's those crazy-obsessed min-maxers who do most of the ranting about grinding. Be in the game for fun, not work. I have more toons than I should admit, most of them are doing just as Myowmyow stated and I'm having a lot of *fun*. Zero stress over obsessing about gear score and Enchantment ranks and artifacts and all that nonsense. And I've been playing since alpha/beta; *still* don't even have my Class Artifact (obtained in Iceland Dale). And I'm fine with that.

Your best avenue of approach: just play the game, don't sweat the 0-to-60-as-fast-as-you-can BS. Just play the game, have fun, don't kill yourself over an entertainment diversion.

Thanks all for your replies! :)

Heh, just barely missed the double exp (coincidentally, a double exp is starting up in another game of mine, but I'll be sticking around here for a while).

The latest mod (ToD) is rather grindy killing dragons/doing dailies in Well of Dragons, and raiding Tiamat.

However you should complete all the campaigns before you start doing too much of ToD, and that should keep you busy 1-2 months easily. The boons from those campaigns are sort of very nice, and you have a nice journey through the game until you get to the end. 5 module additions has given the game a nice volume of content at level 60.

In 2 months or so time we'll likely get mod 6 which will be the endgame when you get to endgame-mode :)

And 13-14k with all the campaign boons in is rather low.. even the most casual people should easily hit 16k ish today. T2 gear is at salvage prices on AH.

ToD(mod 5) was rather small(intended, according to dev posts), and they put the resources toward making something major for mod 6.

During Mod5 they gave us the impression that they will give us more 2xRP Weekend to compensate for RP being made BoA.
