Could I get my Elk transmute this way? (bound weapons and transmute)

Ive been farming Icewind for some time in search for the Elk tribe Bow to use for transmute; been getting axes, shields, TR mainHands, but still no bow!

Now I was wondering if this could work:

Find someone that has the Elk bow, as we know that person will have it bound out of BoP

But what happened if he/she used it to transmute an unbound weapon? Any green junk from the AH could do; could this one be tradeable?

If yes,, coud I then trade them that weapon and use it to transmute my artiBow into an Elk one?

I believe you can now buy elk weapons now with glory, from what I remember. They should be BoE at the vendor in IWD town.

As for your specific question, I don't have an answer.

You sure youre not confusing them with the Bear Tribe bow? thats what you used to get from the vendor in exchange for scrimshaw

I got the Elk Tribe bow on my Combat HR and the bow was mostly the most beautiful thing I had ever seen but for the two horns protruding from the points, which makes it the fugliest bow I have ever seen. Why they had to spoil it with that I cannot understand.

I think your idea could work if you found someone willing to do it. Not sure that when you transmute it whether the item will become bound.

Using a bound item as a transmute on an unbound item will bind the unbound item upon transmutation. This came into effect following an issue during our first Summerfest, where players were transmuting bound Sunite garb onto unbound peasant cosmetic items and selling them on the Auction House. This has been no longer possible since shortly after the start of the first Summerfest.

Could of sworn they sold the elk tribe also after a patch. I can't seem to locate the vendor though. There are actually a few elk tribe bows on the AH right now. They would of came BoP if you got it from a drop.

The Elk Tribe weapons are BoE now, you can just buy them off AH.

Just checked the AH through gateway and youre right! Thank you!, now its just a matter of refining some AD i got pending to get it, Thank you!
