I am in the process of upgrading both and just wondered if the enchants remain or do they have to be removed during the artifact upgrade?

The should remain, however next weekend (9/12) is double refinement weekend... So you may want to hold off a few days for that to begin so you can do half the work! ;)

You will need to remove the enchants. Back when you could "reinforce" your bracers I forgot to remove my R7 enchant from it and when it was done it had eaten my enchant. So if you have something in the belt when you upgrade I suggest removing it, if nothing else to be safe.

I read, that you can use artefact belts for refinement of other belts. Concidering, that they take ca. 6 million RPs and upcoming event you will get the gem for 1,5 million AD, refine it for 1,5 million RPs and get the leg artefact for the same price with half of the work (calculating a 1AD/1RP ratio).

The reason I am asking...is the upgrade from blue to epic is showing the reward without the enchants...and considering what happened with the black ice gear becoming empowered and losing enchants that were in them...was asking in case someone knows...I will be finishing my weapon to epic when the servers are back up...and will use a throw away enchant and find out, and report back.

Once I have them to epic...most likely will wait until double RP.

Add to your Utility slots from your gear (max 3 i think) Fey Blessing Enchantments and/or Dragon's Hoard enchantments.
Based on enchant's level you'll have a chance for some enchants lvl 4 or some refining stones drops sometimes.Only you can see the drops and only you can pick up these special drops even if you are in party, without a roll. You get a gem lvl 4 bonus (not draconic nor black ice) with a lesser fey ,1% chance which seems to be more like a counter ,at approximate 100 mobs killed or so.
This way you can boost your artifact/artifact gear faster specially during that event.
I bet when the upgrading event comes alive these Utility gems prices might go up very fast, even if a Lesser Dragon's Hoard Enchantment now is expensive ~140k , and a Lesser Fey Blessing Enchantment is 50k.

You could try levelling it to epic, copy your character on preview and see what the answer is. Not sure myself. I'd hope that you would lose anything, but it's cryptic.

I already have 3 dragon's hoard enchants..upgraded them from lesser and they are a life saver. Nothing like seeing a black opal pop up in trash mob killing.

Good idea frishter will do just that to find out.

One other thing is you can also use the amulet/necklace of mourning at 60 when doing non hard stuff for an added utility slot.

Feys might well go up was they are pure RP fodder, but as more and more people unlock the ability to make Dragon's Hoard Enchantments their price should fall slowly or at least remain the same.

After the Double RP event the price of Dragon's Hoards should fall fairly fast though.

I'd just play safe and remove the enchant or try it out on LIVE on a worthless enchant first.

Yes might be, i forgot about unlocking , i/m very close to unlock that too, atm i/m "crafting" the 2nd dragon boon , but are those Dragon Hoard gem crafting only 1 time task or can be crafted at any time later just like the Sharandar version ? (i didnt read the description of the crafting Dragon Hoard task and now its to late to check, the server is down for maint.)

I/m asking because if it's only 1 time craft that will change things and keep a very high price for the Hoard gems even if its an refining event ongoing or not.

I can comfirm you craft both the enchants and the artifact weapon more then once, you just need the materials. Same for the daily chest key.

Actually that is what I am gonna do. Use a throw away enchant on live, as I have seen a few things not work the same from preview to live, even though they should.

Cool, thank you cayapp. So the 140k price for a lesser Hoard will drop down slowly in time and stop ,just like the lesser fey blessing enchants.
I was affraid bcuz those previous tasks to craft lvl 3 and/or lvl 4 draconic are only 3 or 5 times tasks.

I can confirm on preview when you upgrade the epic weapon from blue to epic level your current enchantments remain in the new version.

I will confirm the same holds true for live as soon as I can for both the weapon and belt. I have 1 1/2 levels for my weapon so may take me a bit.

Just upgraded my artifact weapon from blue to epic, on live, with a throw away enchant. Did not lose the enchant.

That's nice.. I wish i had not removed my enchants when I upgraded my Artifact Weapon from epic to legendary. After the upgrade I tried to put back my enchants but the "Done" "Refine" & "Enchant" button is missing. I submitted a ticket & still waiting on what will happen. Right now I have a Legendary Artifact Weapon with no Enchants since I can't put them in because the Enchant button is missing. Anyone had a similar experience?

The existing enchants remain when you upgrade.
