Defense vs Resistance (Bronzewood vs Plaguefire)

Can someone elaborate on this, please? Plaguefire, with it's bonus damage and debuff of resistance seems almost too good. How does it fair against Bronzewood with it's defense debuff?
I've been playing GF (mainly PvP, but not exclusively) with Bronzewood and I spam encounters like crazy (like any GF, our at-wills won't do any damage anyway...) so I have no issue with the application of the Bronzewood debuff. I am getting to the point of having enough AD to get Greater enchantment (via AH, sell Bronzewood and get Greater), so now considering whether to get Greater Bronze or Plaguefire.
