Why not offer power respecs for AD?

With the zax backlog as it is, why are respec tokens still zen store only? Even if you sell them for more AD then the conversion is, people will pay it to avoid the zax. I'm sitting on a GF that needs a respec after the changes, and because I was sloppy with powers while leveling. But if I need to wait for a zax exchange, I'm going to get bored and just not play. It doesn't, at all, entice me to pay money for it from the zen store. Plus it would take a bit of AD off the market, making AD worth more, getting people to sell more zen.

    3 Reasons.

    1. AD is free.

    2. if you are Max level you can "over-level" to get a max of 20 extra points to put wherever you please...

    3. They have something that resets it for 300 zen. Respec token. Cryptic Has apparently learned they can make quite a bit of money if they Change up what skills do, mess with the powers, and then basically require everyone to pay 3 dollars per character to respec to something viable.

You can respec using AD only with a "feat respec"

There is a button to do this on the feats page of your character sheet. With a Zax of 500, this is a cheaper option too. (iirc, about 77,000 AD)

However, It will only respec feats and boons. You can not change powers, paragon paths, or ability scores with this option. As long as you are happy with your path and ability scores this is the way to go. With power points from the level up box, you will eventually max every power and that would not need a respec.

Generally, its the feats and possibly the boons that most people will change so this option works more often than not.

Because they want you to spend money....they need players to spend money. Like someone said, AD is free, AD is easy to get,

    I don't have a problem with it being 300zen

I remember during beta how people were (perhaps justifiably) irked about how you had to pay to get a respec.

    During beta testing.

Go back up to the italicized line above and read that again. LOL
Knowing the past, I am not surprised at all that they still have a power respec behind the paywall. But something tells me that the 2+ weeks worth of backlog on the ZAX is NOT working as intended. It makes sense to have some items behind the ZAXwall to help drive AD sales, but that train is WAAAAY out of control right now. ZAX is not supposed to be "locked" at the max cap of 500:1.

They still have some work to do about this. In theory, a power respec "should" cost somewhere around 110-120k AD, because you can use the ZAX to buy zen with AD and use the zen to buy the respec. Kinda messed up right now.

It is pointless to offer a "power-only" respec - after all, once you put 3 points in all powers you can just pick and choose whatever combination you like. Now, a feat respec makes sense when a class is changed, and having the feats reset to zero is good enough for all practical purposes - like what they just did for HRs, GFs and CWs (bor not for GWFs for some strange reason). The other thing that makes sense is initial stat rerolling, and that is available for Zen.

    That's all we need.
    Hoping for improvements...

Seriously with all the extra power points given after lvl 60 their is really no need to respec power with enough time you will have all powers at 3pts eventually, the only thing that the power respec will give you is the ability to choose a different paragon path.

What about needing to change powers on people who AREN'T 60? The games not just about being level 60, or we'd just start there.

Ad is free but so is zen. The only thing is you have to wait. Waiting to respec a character is just annoying. It makes people want to quit, it doesn't make them want to spend money. And the problem I have with the little 3 dollar respec token, is zen is only sold in bundles of 10's. So I'm actually paying 10 dollars for that respec, and will have 600 zen change sitting over.

They could just sell the respec for more AD then the zax is worth. People who are cheap and want to wait can, people who don't want to wait can pay OVER the exchange for the respec, draining more AD out of the system.
