So just to clarify the math here. Perfect Vorpal adds 50% crit severity, which is NOT a 50% damage boost. It works out to be about a 28% increase in damage TIMES your crit rate. So if you have a 50% crit rate, that's a 14% average DPS boost, lower if your average crit rate is lower.

EDIT: And to make P.Vorpal effective, you HAVE to invest in Crit. Plaguefire is extra damage regardless, so you can stack more stats like Power, and pretty much ignore crit. I have about 1300 crit on my CW (from gear) and with my CHA score, still have a 33% crit rate. I think investing in crit any more than that is a bit of a waste.
